“Back to the ’80s” Trivial Pursuit Includes a Stranger Things Category

If you’re looking for some 80s nostalgia, check out the Back to the 80’s Edition of Trivial Pursuit. It has a Stranger Things theme even though Stranger Things is technically only set in the ’80s. Test your knowledge about all things ’80s and see how much you remember from that awesome decade.

The game has 1,500 new questions on 250 cards in six categories: Movies; TV; Music; Famous People and Events; Trends, Tech and Fun; and Stranger Things. In keeping with the Stranger Things theme, the board has portal spaces. When you land on these they send all players to the Upside Down, where you can lose wedges for providing incorrect answers. I hope Luke Skywalker doesn’t play this. You know, because he might lose Wedge. His friend. That would be heartbreaking. Never mind.

Anyway if you want to go back to the ’80s but don’t have a DeLorean and aren’t a cyborg looking for John Connor, this is the game for you. You can pre-order it right now on Amazon for $19.99. It’s expected to start shipping on May 1, 2018.

Remember playing that electronic baseball game as kid? The “ball” was a tiny light up dot that moved along the screen. The players were tiny light up dots. Everything was tiny lights. It was simple to learn, difficult to master. That’s actually the hallmark of a good game- all the classics have a short learning curve but are hard to become great at- think Pac-Man, Space Invaders, even modern games like Angry Birds. It was everything like baseball and nothing like baseball. Just tiny lights.

Back then handheld meant something the size of a small paperback novel (remember books? that’s a whole different post I guess) and a bunch of AAA batteries or a 9 volt or two. Now thanks to the wonders of technology they’ve miniaturized the classics. This electronic baseball game is a faithful reproduction of the original but shrunken down to keychain size. Like the original it’s made by Mattel. And yes, it really works.
