The 2017 Amazon Fire HD 8 Is the Perfect iPad Mini Alternative
The current generation iPad Mini 4 is a great tablet if you want something compact but capable of playing media, checking emails, surfing the web, and playing games. But it’s also ridiculously expensive for what it is – selling for $399 or more. On the other hand, there’s the latest gen Amazon Fire HD 8, which packs a similarly sized screen starting at just $79.99.
Sure, the Fire HD 8’s display isn’t as razor sharp as Apple’s display, with “just” a 1280 x 800 resolution, but at 189 ppi pixel density, it’s still about twice the sharpness of your typical computer monitor.

Kindle Unlimited or Music Unlimited subscriptions are also available for full access to a massive book or music library.
The Fire HD 8 comes in four colors, and either 16 or 32GB of on-board storage, expandable by up to 256 GB using a microSD card, or unlimited cloud storage for Amazon content. And if you’re concerned about the tablet holding up to abuse, Amazon says the Fire HD 8 is substantially more durable than the iPad Mini 4.
Base price for the 16GB Fire HD 8 is just $79.99 if you’re willing to watch Amazon’s special offers advertisements, or $94.99 without the ads. The 32GB model starts at $109.99 with special offers, or $124.99 without.

Amazon Fire HD 8 Tablet Gets Alexa, More Storage, and Longer Battery Life
Amazon has announced that it has updated its Fire HD 8 tablet. The tablet has an 8-inch display and runs on a quad-core processor. The new model offers 12 hours of battery life and 50 percent more RAM for better performance. The Fire HD 8 also offers twice the onboard storage (16GB or 32GB) compared to its predecessor, and supports up to 200GB of external storage via microSD card.
The Fire HD 8 also features Alexa, marking the first time that Alexa has been included in an Amazon tablet. Alexa allows you to do much more by using voice commands. Much like Siri, it can play music, launch games, read audiobooks, search the web and much more. The company is also rolling Alexa out on last year’s Fire HD 8 tablets through an over-the-air software update very soon. So if you wanted Alexa on your tablet, there you go.

Amazon Fire Smartphone Might Make You Dizzy
Word has been circulating for a while that Amazon was getting ready to roll out its very first smartphone for a while now. That smartphone has officially been unveiled and it is called the Fire. At the center of the Fire smartphone it its dynamic perspective capability that has a sensor to respond to the way you hold the phone. 
The Fire phone features a powerful 2.2 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 801 processor, 2GB of RAM, a 4.7″ 720p display, LTE connectivity, and dual stereo speakers. The rear camera is a 13MP with an f2.0 lens and optical image stabilization, which should help it achieve better pictures in low light. The front camera is a 2.1MP unit.
The Amazon Fire phone will ship July 25 on AT&T for $199 with 32GB of storage or $299 with 64GB of storage. An unlocked 32GB phone goes for $649, or $749 with 64GB.
