Drone Tech That Looks Terrifying!

venom_drone_01

If just looking at this drone makes you itch, you’re not alone. Designer Arman Zamani of UNSEEN Design Studio says it takes on a form similar to that of the grasshopper, but all I can see is mosquito! Either way, its biomimicry aims to make it just as swift as the insects from which it is inspired. Aside from having enhanced aerodynamics, it also features a unique folding mechanism that makes it easy to transport with its components safely tucked together. Capable of being equipped with camera equipment, it’s ideal for capturing fast moving subjects like cars, races, and more… so long as you can get past that menacing look.

A Rainstorm in Your Shower

cumulus_shower_layout

Not everyone finds minimalism fun! For anyone looking to add a little more pizzaz, the Cumulus shower provides a whimsical way of rinsing off after a long day. A twist on the popular rain-style shower head, Cumulus is a literal interpretation of the cloud. It features a fluffy nozzle from which it pours three gentle streams of water. An additional handheld unit serves those hard-to-reach areas or makes it easy to rinse kids in the bath. Playfully shaped, this friendly, familiar fragment is one that children will look forward to getting under at bath time!

Zen On Your Wrist

kyoto_watch_layout

I always thought of zen gardens as being somewhat of a corny concept, but seeing this watch inspired by one has encouraged me to have a change in tune! Designed for the KOMONO brand, the Kyoto timepiece’s face is akin to a dry landscape for meditating otherwise known as “karesansui.” This miniaturized version offers the watch not only instantaneous recognition but is in line with the KOMONO brand’s minimalistic design language. Consisting of solely a sand-colored face with waves and stone-colored hour/minute hands, the color and shape combinations are as peaceful as they are organic. Quite simply, it’s oddly satisfying to look at!

Introducing, Purrniture

kafka_light_layout

The latest from designer Arman Zamani, the Kafka light lives at the intersection of storytelling and design. Inspired by the two feline omens in Kafka on the Shore, a novel by Japanese author Haruki Murakami, this elegant (and somewhat strange) lighting series is sure to be a conversation starter in any space. Almost as if ol’ puss was trapped in a pure white cube, it makes for an interesting sculpture during the day and a playful, poetic luminaire that inspires the imagination at night.
