Velma, Fred, Daphne, Shaggy, and Scooby-Doo are always on the hunt, unraveling new mysteries, munching on Scooby snacks, and getting stoned in the back of The Mystery Machine. Now your dog or cat can join in on the fun from inside of this Mystery Machine Pet Carrier (affiliate link) from Buckle-Down. The $60 bag is made from quilted polyester and has vented mesh windows for your pet to look out from, with a large U-shaped zipper roof and Velcro closures. Which makes me wonder why can’t real vans use zippers and Velcro? There’s also a clip inside for attaching a collar, and a removable base pad which adds comfort and makes for easy cleanup in case your pet likes to barf on car rides.

Unfortunately, if you have a Great Dane or another big dog like Scooby-Doo, there’s no way he’s fitting in this thing. It measures just 15.5″ L x 10.5″ W x 10.0″ H on the inside, which is definitely more Scrappy-Doo size. Or in Amazon reviewer Norma’s case, it’s perfect for two chihuahuas.

Necessity is perhaps the best sort of design brief. If you want to solve a problem, ask for insights for someone plagued by the problem the most. In 1987, Robert Plath, a Northwest Airlines pilot revolutionized how we travel by simply adding a pair of wheels to his luggage. Decades later, strolleys are practically a norm, and anyone who physically lifts heavy bags is looked at as a luddite. If you want to innovate and create the best sort of luggage for travel, the best way is to talk to someone who literally travels every single day…

If anyone were to know the pain-points of traveling with suitcases, it would be Ethan Fischer. A seasoned airline pilot and entrepreneur, Fischer’s entire profession involves living out of a suitcase, so needless to say, he’s got a few insights on how travel cases should function. Fischer’s journey to designing the world’s most efficient travel luggage stems from the same sense of necessity Robert Plath felt when he sought to add wheels to the bottom of his suitcase. Octopus + Purse = Octopurse

With their big brains, eight tentacles, and lots of suckers, octopi are pretty amazing animals. But like most things with more than four legs, they can also look quite weird. If you think it would be cool to hang out with an octopus all the time, check out this crazy looking bag.

Designed and crafted by Russia’s KruKru Studio, the octopus purse has eight bendy tentacles embellished with rivets instead of suckers. You can store your wallet, keys, and other small items inside of its bulbous head. Maybe toss a few crustaceans in there since you never know when your pet cephalopod might get hungry. Otherwise, you could end up in a situation like this:

Recycle Bin Bag Reminds You to Empty Your Purse

When you travel, you need a place to keep all your grooming and toiletry products organized so they don’t just fall out all over your clothing and spill everywhere. A toiletry bag, aka “dopp kit” is a must have, and I think I must have this one.
