Dustpan and broom that you can display

Nope, that’s not a new sculpture that you have put on your side table, it’s the Folded Cleaning Tool. One of the reasons why I like brands like Muji is because they design everyday products that you don’t mind displaying in your living space – in plain view of every guest! This broom and dustpan set is something on these lines.

Crafted from two sheets of aluminum, the design has clean lines and smooth curves, giving it the ‘extra appeal’ and worthy of being highlighted, when not in use.

Rethinking the Coat Rack

brush_hanger_layout

It might seem a bit silly at first glance, but once you’re aware of its functionality, the Brush coat rack makes perfect, simple sense. Crafted from raw wood and boar’s hair, the design works much in the same way as a traditional coat rack or clothes hanger you’d see in any entryway. What sets it apart, however, is the removable “branches” with a brush features that can be used to clean and dust clothes. They’ll gently remove water, snow, leaves, and other debris so you’re favorite jackets and coats dry faster and are ready to wear.

The easiest, safest way to wash and clean knives

bladebrush_1

The challenge with washing a knife is cleaning the blade without cutting anything. I’ve spoiled a hundred sponges and scouring pads trying to scrub a knife blade only to have the blade actually slice across the sponge, leaving a cut in it. Within twenty washes, your sponge is a fine shredded mince.

Joseph Joseph’s BladeBrush tackles the problem with the company’s signature innovative style. The U-shaped brush comes with bristles on both ends, strong enough to scrub any grime off the blade, even getting in between serrations. The bristles make a perfect choice not only because they do a remarkable job cleaning the blade, but also because the blade doesn’t really slice through them, since they flex. The BladeBrush works perfectly with any sort of blade and even with cutlery, making the cleaning process easier… and it keeps your hands clean too, since you’re holding a textured rubber grip around a plastic frame, and not a soapy sponge!

This Self-Cleaning Hair Brush Keeps Bristles from Getting Nasty

Hair brushes are a pain to clean. They just collect hair and by the time you try to remove it, you can never get it all. I have known women who never clean their hair brush so that it looks like it has it’s own head of hair. Well, this self-cleaning hairbrush should fix all that.

I think this is a real product, but I hope it is not. Its website simply says that there will be a Kickstarter for it soon. Afterfter it is successfully funded, you will be free to lick cats all you like. If you’re into that sort of thing.

A toilet cleaner with a soul

Simple design is always the best type of design. Add to that a beautiful story, and you have a winner of a product! The Bloom toilet brush stands out as an example of a simple design with a beautiful story. Made as pretty much a single part, the Brush has a cup with bristles on the inside. Press the brush against a flat surface and the cup flips outwards, revealing the bristles within, completing the “bloom” story!

Yes, I know this is a toilet brush; but toilets are allowed to have nice things too!

The Forever Toothbrush

Think about how many toothbrushes you toss out in just the course of a year… then multiply that by your lifetime. Chances are, you’re seeing a mental mountain of plastic! In a nutshell, Goodwell’s modern toothbrush was inspired by this very thought. It utilizes a lasting aluminum body with compostable toothbrush attachments that you can feel confident tossing out. Better yet, a future design will include a 3-axis accelerometer & smartphone app to monitor & encourage regular brushing & flossing!
