White Castle serves up plant-based meat with the Impossible Slider

Now that the Impossible Burger is easier to find thanks to an increased production capacity, it's likely we'll see it at more fast-food places than ever. That's a good thing for both its parent company as well as those of us who could stand to eat a...

Burger Flipping Robot Loses Job Because of Humans

Wow, that title must be a first for humanity. Normally it’s the human losing jobs because of robots. Remember Flippy? He’s an industrial robotic arm capable of grilling and flipping up to 2,000 burgers a day. The bot was poised to start taking jobs from our pimply faced youth.

Well, it actually began working at Pasadena, California based CaliBurger restaurant, but here’s the thing: It was put on indefinite leave two days later because its human coworkers couldn’t keep up with the breakneck speed of its burger making. Cue Nelson from The Simpsons: HA HA!

Take that robots! How does it feel for you to lose your job to us for a change? I mean, granted, it’s because of our inferior skills and inability to keep up, but still. Our robot overlords can suck it. Leave the burger making to us.

Basically, the company paid like $100,000 for a robot that only worked for two days. In the automotive world, that’s what’s known as a lemon. Now our acne-ridden youths can get back to making burgers, the way God intended. Slowly. This also means that the spit in your burger is back because you were a rude jerk. God bless America!

The Whopper Air Freshener

whopper-air-freshener-1

Think of the Whopper Air Freshener as the ‘reverse freshener’. When most people buy these things to get the fast food smell out of the car, Burger King Brazil would like to help you do the opposite; this freshener smells just like the burger that inspired it. As crazy as it may sound, we’re convinced there’s a market for this. Considering things like Bacon Lube exist, it’s not much of a stretch of the imagination to conceive of hungry gluttons wanting their car to smell like one of the best tasting burgers on the market (yes, we said it).

Much as it would be great to buy this for yourself (or get it free, right? I mean, it’s not like someone would pay for this…), it appears to have been part of a publicity campaign where taxi drivers would hang it on their mirrors and pick up drunk clubgoers. The smell would of course overwhelm their already uninhibited senses and cause them to re-route their trip to the closest Burger King. Genius.

Burger King Japan To Release Whopper Fragrance

burger-king-fragrance

Considering Burger King Japan will be “releasing” this on April 1st, I’m not 100% sure this information is legit and isn’t a simple Fool’s Day prank. But just in case it’s not, we’d like to inform you that for 1 day only, the burger maker will apparently be selling a little bottle of Whopper Fragrance for 5,000 yen or about $42, and it comes with a Whopper to boot. We don’t know what it actually smells like, but we sure hope it’s exactly what it sounds like. Additionally, you’ll apparently be able to purchase a Whopper Pass for $41, which gives you 30 days of Whopper meals. Considering it’s usually around $7 each, this pass is a heck of a bargain. And yes, it’s one day only. And… only if any of this is actually true.
