These Dashcams are on 25% Discount: Here’s How To Upgrade Your Car’s Safety Today

Here’s a fact you probably didn’t know – In the time it takes to blink, a car traveling at 60 mph will have moved over 50 feet. It’s exactly that much of a moment, a single blink, that is enough to change an entire life or multiple lives… and while your eyes might have missed that moment, a dashcam never blinks. Once a tool for law enforcement, these compact devices have become indispensable for everyday drivers around the globe. With road incidents on the rise and accountability more important than ever, we’re diving into why equipping your vehicle with a dashcam isn’t just smart—it’s essential. Whether it’s a near brush with death, a careless driver/pedestrian flouting traffic rules, or just a vandal trying to cause trouble, having a steady pair of eyes on the road helps keep you safe and also helps prove your point. The folks at 70mai, makers of some of the leading dashcams on the market, are running a 25% discount on their best-selling dashcams. With features such as 4K capture, AI motion detection, built-in GPS, and 24-hour surveillance, 70mai’s dashcams start as low as $66 and fit easily on both the front and the rear of your car, monitoring every corner to keep your car, but also ultimately you and your family, safe.

1. 70mai Omni Dash Cam 360° Vehicle Security Guard

Touted as the world’s first-ever 360° rotating dashcam, the 70mai Omni monitors the front, rear, and even insides of your car. The single-unit camera attaches to your front windshield, with a 140° FoV wide-angle lens that can rotate 360° to surveil every corner of your car and its periphery. The cameras rely on best-in-class OS02K10 sensors which record at FullHD 1080p@60fps in HDR, working even in low light thanks to 70mai’s Night Owl Vision feature. The patented design features a compact display for viewing your feed, and a set of rotating cameras that leave no stone unturned, especially given their AI-powered features that track motion, humans, and collisions. Moreover, the dashcam’s ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System) feature helps you stay aware of your surroundings as you drive. 24-hour smart surveillance means your car stays alert even when you’re not in it, and video footage gets recorded locally to an eMMC built-in storage (this offers faster read and write speeds than an SD card), and can also be accessed using 70mai’s app. The camera automatically rolls over older footage if it doesn’t detect any activity, and automatically saves logs of events/detections that don’t get deleted, allowing you to access them at a later date. The Omni comes with voice control, along with a built-in GPS that location-stamps your footage and even tracks your routes for you, making it a remarkably vigilant companion. Currently running on a special 25% discount, the 128G version Omni with hardwire kit bundle starts at just $164.98 which includes the camera unit, mounting accessories, a crowbar for concealing the wiring behind the interior paneling, a power cable, and a car charger to keep your dashcam charged when its 300mAh battery runs out.

2. 70mai A810 Dash Cam 4K HDR

If you’re looking for something reliable without breaking the bank, the A810 is a stellar pick. It uses Sony’s best-in-class STARVIS sensor to capture 4K footage from the front while offering 1080P HDR footage from the rear camera of your car. The two-part camera system attaches to your front and rear windshield, with dual-channel HDR recording and 70mai’s Night Owl Vision that gives you a clear picture even in low-light settings. A 150° FoV on the front and 130° on the back gives a reliable wide-angle view of your car with hardly any blind spots, and the dashcam’s display and ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System) prove handy when it comes to navigating tight spaces or parking. The A810’s smart features allow it to capture incidents before they even happen. The camera runs on a 24-hour surveillance mode, rolling over older footage with a new video feed. AI-powered software aids in motion detection, human detection, and collision detection, and the dashcam sends alerts to your smartphone through a dedicated app, while also saving a log of any event that it may have captured. The video is also accompanied by GPS metadata that proves incredibly handy in ensuring the validity of legal and insurance claims. The 70mai Dash Cam 4K A810 is available for a special Christmas discounted price of $149.98, which includes the two cameras, mounting gear, a hardwire kit for parking surveillance, a power cord, and a car charger that lets you juice the dashcam’s 500mAh battery.

The A800S, however, records at a slightly smaller 140° FoV, and at 30fps, using Sony IMX415 sensors on both the front and back. Those minor changes don’t affect the A800S’ performance, given that it still has all the AI-powered motion, human, and collision-detection features. You’ve still got 24-hour surveillance, which lets you keep an eye on your car even when you’re not inside, and events get logged locally on an SD card and can be accessed, along with GPS data, on 70mai’s smartphone app. The A800S is available for a discounted $104.98, which fetches you the dual-camera setup, mounts, a power cable, and a car-charger.

A smart air purifier that detects and alters your traffic experience to make it stress-free

Traffic is a phenomenon that we all experience daily! Sounds like a nightmare right? Traffic has such adverse effects on our bodies and minds that there is a defined term for it; The Post Traffic Congestion Effect. This suggests that commuters experience negative emotions which can affect their daily lives.

FRI is meant to tackle this problem and assist commuters in meeting this task, as a reduction in traffic is not a reasonable expectation. Otherwise, the air purifier aids in the development of an emotional control system and lowers stress.

Designer: Ian JIA 贾天浩

Traffic is an unavoidable aspect of our everyday life. It has grown dramatically as people desire privacy and want to purchase their own cars and travel independently. Such mindsets contribute to traffic, which causes stress because it is frequently worse than expected, you are running late, or you are simply exhausted after work and can’t wait to get home.

FRI concentrates on odor, visual effects, and emotional recognition. These would enable commuters to create an emotional control system, as well as relieve and address bad emotions. FRI might be an air purifier in everyday contexts to accomplish ‘no labeling of things’. FRI also comes with a companion App, allowing it to play a useful role in everyday life.

Fri is a 3D-printed product made of resin, the regular shape allows more space for internal features. However, the fillets and curves have been designed to achieve a more ‘relaxed’ feel. It features 2 PCB modules, 1 micro motor, 1 LED module for the sunset and sunrise effects, and 2 humidifying modules to make a light and fresh environment.

FRI is not meant to be a cold emotion detection system. It’s more like a friend who can be there for you and prompt and assist you in managing your emotions. The FRI is equipped with a high-definition camera for emotion detection, which detects the driver’s emotions and prompts and assists the driver in regulating their bad thoughts. The time display function is used to divert attention away from the camera.

This product is intended to be used daily to normalize negative emotions and avoid treating drivers as victims. A car air purifier is a highly common and necessary product, and it also conforms to its design purpose of sensing and easing emotional signs. When negative emotions are detected, the humidification mode is engaged, and the odor can be discharged through the exhaust vents. Simultaneously, the lighting module may create a calming environment by simulating the effect of sunrise and sunset.

The product can be operated via an app. It contains a reward system where drivers can accumulate several ‘good drives’ to get a free aroma.

Car Cup Holder for Large Water Bottles

Have you seen the size of water bottles and travel mugs today? Absolute units. Just like the size of people’s bladders that are walking around with these fifty gallon tubs of water like they haven’t had a drink in two weeks. Is that you? And you like to take those big ol’ jugs with you in the car but your car’s puny cupholders can’t handle bottles holding half a lake? Get this Cup Holder Expander and fit almost any size into your vehicle.

Yeah it fits most of the common reusable bottles you probably spent too much money on- Yeti, Hydroflask, Nalgene all the big players. It’d be a shame to have such a fancy water bottle and then have to *gasp* leave in on your passenger seat. What if you actually have a passenger? Put it in the cupholder where it belongs. There’s even a slot cut out that you can use if you have a wide mug with a handle- see the handle fits right in there nicely:

You spin the base to expand or contract it so it can fit snuggly into your tiny little cupholder. Clickthrough for the exact measurements, to be sure your bottle and car are both a good fit. Otherwise you may have to buy a new car just to fit the cup holder and your drink, and that would be a shame.

Peugeot uses innovative 3D-printing technology to produce flexible storage inserts

Peugeot has developed storage inserts for their new 308 models that are 3D-printed from a flexible filament using innovative 3D-printing technology.

French automobile brand Peugeot is known for its catalog of unique, well-made cars. The new 308 model from Peugeot is an update on the brand’s 3008 SUV, the team of designers gave the new generation a smaller and sportier look.

Designer: Peugeot

The automobile brand is known for practicality and function, so it’s no surprise that the new 308 model delivers on storage compartments and integrated assistive features. Upping the ante, Peugeot’s Design, Product and Research & Development teams designed and constructed 3D-printed car accessories specifically for the new 308 models.

Starting with a new flexible polymer, Peugeot uses innovative 3D-printing technology to create sunglasses holders, cup holders, and phone/cardholders to fit into the 308’s center console. In collaboration with HP Inc., Mäder, and ERPRO, the Peugeot team used the new HP Multi Jet Fusion (MJF) 3D printing technology to format and produce their line of accessories.

Before designing the new line of accessories, the team set out to “make accessories more visible and attractive by innovating and using modern materials,” according to a press release written by Stellantis, Peugeot’s mother company. To achieve this, the 3D-printed accessories are constructed from Ultrasint TPU, or Thermoplastic Polyurethane, a type of filament with elastic properties like rubber, yet durable like plastic.

In the same press release, Stellantis notes, “The flexible material used is Ultrasint thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU), the fruit of a partnership between HP Inc. and BASF. This material offers durable, strong, and flexible parts. It is a perfect material for impact-absorbing parts that require high elasticity and for flexible mesh-like structures. The material can be used to produce parts with high surface quality and a very high level of detail.”

The flexible filament gives the storage insert a durable, yet squishy feel.

The custom-fitted storage inserts carry an array of different functions, from a phone holder to a sunglasses case.

BAGO Glovebox Clip Keeps Bags Standing Upright While Driving

Filed under products I didn’t know I needed but am now questioning how I ever lived without, the BAGO keeps bags standing upright in your car while driving to help prevent spills or damage to their contents. The product consists of a plastic anchor that can be closed in your car’s glovebox and a seatbelt-like strap with a metal spring clamp at the end that can be attached to bags sitting in the passenger side footwell to keep them standing upright. What a time to be alive!

Currently an already-funded Kickstarter project and now on Indiegogo, $22 will get you a BAGO when they’re shipped around May. Will you be purchasing one? Or will you continue to put your groceries in the trunk like a caveperson? Get with the times! Alternatively, you can accidentally leave a grocery bag on the roof of your car, as I did a few weeks ago, and spill everything as you’re backing out of the parking spot. I’ve never seen bananas so bruised before.

And to think, just 30 years ago, human passengers didn’t even have to wear seatbelts. Now even our shopping bags are wearing them! And while this certainly is a problem solver if you’re traveling with an open can of paint or nuclear material, what I really need is something that prevents me from locking my keys in the car because I’m really not sure how I’m getting home from work today.

This emergency tool for your car is a glass breaker that doubles as a make-shift hammer

Who says a typical windows glass breaker has to be concealed in the dark corners of your vehicle? This glass breaker that doubles as a hammer and designer prop breaks away all those notions!

More often than not we tend to hide away emergency use equipment like windows glass breaker, simply because they don’t go very well with the car interiors or tend to be forgotten as they are seldom used. This can lead to serious repercussions in the event of an emergency when you desperately need to break the glass to make an exit. A breaker stored in a hidden compartment or in the boot of the car – not accessible in case you are stuck in the front seats can be the difference between life and death.

Bringing the element of sanity and clever design to the good old glass breaker is the Objemer emergency car window breaker. The emergency use accessory designed for Escape Lab (a Korean startup) by BEBOP Design gets over the dangerous behavior of hiding typical breakers in places where they’ll eventually not be found when desperately needed. The idea here is to make it blend with the car’s typical dashboard and compartment storage design so that the designer accessory is always at arm’s length – ready for use.

The Objemer’s USP is its intuitive rectangular design which is an eye-pleasing prop when not in use. Since it is CNC machined the designer managed to achieve a very precise and accurate shape that looks good and most importantly maintains the sharp edge just at the right place. When required the sharp end of the window breaker concealed in the magnetic mount can be put to judicious use. It’s made from a single block of metal and also acts as a make-shift hammer for the odd task. While the design house doesn’t mention any other double utility of the car escape tool explicitly, I can think of it as a surprise self-defense prop, because you never know!

This palm-sized bike air pump comes with nighttime LED light + automatic tire pressure level detection!

Having a flat tire in the middle of nowhere can be the worst nightmare for motorists. More so, if you are not someone acquainted with swapping the rouge tire with a spare tire. These times call for an air pump that’s super easy to use and carry along. While there are countless such air pumps on the market, how about going even smaller and modern looking? A palm-sized smart air pump to be exact!

Meet the Lingmou intelligent portable air pump designed by Yifanzi J for awkward situations on unknown roads. Keeping in mind that motorists need to keep a check on their vehicle’s air pressure levels in all the tires, the portable air pump is a must-have without any questions. Tire bursts on freeways account for accidents, and no one wants to jeopardize their, as well as other motorist’s lives, do they? This proposed concept design is meant for Generation Z who like things as simple and time-saving as possible – not to forget the styling quotient.

Lingmou comes with a digital display to show the current pressure levels of the tire and a LED light to assist during nighttime tire woes. The air pump comes with intelligent tire pressure management functions and smart settings which fill the air to the exact amount required. When the right pressure level is reached the pump automatically stops the filling process – thereby, saving you from any presumed hassles. For the versatility aspect, the air pump can accommodate multifunctional pipes depending on the need. It can be used to fill the air in basketballs or footballs too – set to the right amount without fail.

The current prototype developed by Yifanzi looks good on all fronts – be it the size, portability aspect, or functionality. For me, the silver lining is the ability to carry it in my backpack or even pocket – as opposed to keeping a bulky air pump in the boot of my car. After all, it is better to have something handy if other motorists also need one –even though I might not be anywhere near my car. Given I could make the switch to this cool automotive accessory is an absolute no-brainer.

Essential Car Accessories designed to help you escape dangerous situations and emergencies safely + securely!

Our personal cars are honestly very important! We need them to commute from one place to another, and in traveling to and fro different locations, I’m pretty sure we end up spending a substantial amount of our day in them. Hence, maintaining the health and safety of our car is quite crucial. But no matter how much care we take of our beloved cars, there’s always a risk of our car breaking down or encountering some issue or the other. In such scenarios, it’s critical to have a handy collection of tools that can come to our rescue. From EDCs to nifty accessories, these products will support your car in the best way possible. From a tiny EDC tool that helps you escape during in-car emergencies to an emergency light that can save your life-these nifty, portable, and highly functional designs will help you escape the trickiest emergency warning situations safely!

The WYN Bullet  is one of those rare examples of EDC that was designed to save lives. Smaller than your finger, the WYN Bullet is a spring-loaded glass-shattering tool that helps you make a quick escape/rescue by instantly breaking a car’s toughened glass. Whether you’re inside your car trying to get out, or outside the car trying to save someone on the inside, the WYN Bullet’s one-push system can instantly shatter toughened glass panels, giving you swift entry into a locked car in emergencies . Toughened glass is exceptionally difficult to break through, by design.

The NUMBER ZERO’s design comes with a clever bit of consideration that’s often overlooked by other companies. The mount’s design was created to look good even there’s NO phone mounted on it. Rather than just use that opportunity to slap a massive piece of branding onto the mount’s design, the NUMBER ZERO comes with a neat little kinetic animation that’s powered by the wind from the AC. The mount comes with a variety of animations to choose from, all of which feature a rotating element that’s powered by the wind coming off the AC vent at the back. The air from the vent pushes a series of gears that then cause the kinetic animation to gently rotate, allowing the NUMBER ZERO to look eye-catching even when the phone isn’t mounted in place.

Issued as a limited release, Spotify’s Car Thing provides a bridge between your car’s speaker system and your favorite online streaming service. Available for free to a select group of applicants (you can sign up on Spotify’s Car Thing microsite), the Car Thing is a nifty little dashboard that brings Spotify to life in your automobile. It runs a version of the streaming company’s Car View, a simple interface that’s easy to use and navigate while driving, and while the device DOES have a touchscreen, it comes with physical dials and buttons that you can instinctively operate with your hand as you keep your eyes on the road. The Spotify Car Thing is built to be compatible with vehicles regardless of make or model and displays a home screen with a touch-sensitive navigation dial slightly overlapping the screen to make the device look visually dramatic.

Designed to be universal and customizable, the Zero Labs Platform is an electric base that can fit under the body of virtually any existing car, turning it instantly electric. Think of Zero Labs’ Platform as basically an electric skateboard. It comes with a base fitted with all the electrical components, a battery, and four wheels. Designed with an adjustable wheelbase and ride height, independent front and rear suspension, modular battery system, a 600HP dual-motor drive, regenerative breaking, the Platform can be customized to fit under any car. The car would need to be prepared for this transition, by ditching everything under the hood and hooking the steering controls and dashboard to the new electric drivetrain. The car would then be mounted onto its new platform and lo and behold, you’ve got yourself an old dog with new tricks… or as Zero Labs like to call it, “the Past, powered by the Future”.

The Jabra Drive in-car speaker blocks out all the other sounds on the road! It comes amped with noise-cancellation technology that eliminates disturbing noises from the road. Installing the speaker in your car is super simple and easy. There are voice-guided instructions to help you connect the device to your car! Moreover, you even get verbal reminders when the battery is low. You can use the Jabra Drive to make calls, stream music, and play GPS instructions as well.

Kono Corporation’s solution to the problem is a simple coupling of two words. Increased visibility. The S.Light, which should be as much of a standard carry-on accessory as a car-jack or lug-wrench, is a signaling beacon that allows drivers to know that there’s a broken-down vehicle ahead, from as far as 200 yards away, giving them enough time to react by either change lanes and avoiding a collision, or pulling up near you to help you out. The S.Light, which stands for Safe-Secure-Signal is a portable, flexible signboard that uses a rotating LED display for high visibility at night, and a collapsible reflector panel during the day. The emergency signboard comes with a strong, magnetic base and a flexible goose-neck upon which lies the rotating LED module.

A tiny, versatile multitool, the Gerber Armbar Drive packs 7 tools into its small, slick frame. The Armbar Drive’s frame integrates a prybar and bottle opener into its design, while the fold-out tools include a full-size plain-edge knife, an awl for making or enlarging holes, a scissor for cutting, and a 2.5” long screwdriver with a 2-sided bit that you can flip and use based on your need. Pretty useful for a multitool that ultimately folds down to the size of your index finger. The Armbar Drive even has a sister variant, the Armbar Cork, which features a corkscrew with a lever arm along with a can/package opener… but given that I haven’t seen a bottle of alcohol in over a month now, I’ll leave that be.

The primary responsibility of a walkie-talkie is to be a portable communication device. “Designed to be carried at any time, in many different ways,” this walkie-talkie can be used in any industry or organization where instantaneous communication between peers is required, and phone signals are unreliable. These would generally include security services, transportation industry, construction sites, manufacturing, and warehouse facilities amid a few other sectors. The fact is that walkie-talkies are easy to use and have grown beyond commercial use into the lives of the masses. Smaller versions are especially very popular among kids. As a more innovative way – to highlight its transport – Franco Calegari has designed a walkie-talkie with the bottom half of the device cut out into a hollow ring, which can be used to attach a carabiner or in a range of other ways.

With a newly detailed base that features a wide cross-shaped design, increasing its stability, the CrossJack is the same old jack in a slightly new but noticeably safer design, thanks to its stable base. The CrossJack’s design prompts one to wonder why car-jacks don’t already have wide bases. Its redesign is simple but effective. A collapsible set of plates sit at the bottom of the CrossJack that opens up into a wide cross, giving the jack a spaced-apart, four-point base. This wider footprint prevents the car from being accidentally knocked off the jack and landing on the ground, injuring anyone who may be working on it. The CrossJack’s tweaked design sports a base that’s nearly half an inch thick, and made of stainless steel, giving it a rugged sturdiness that makes the jack safer than most. When you’re done, the jack folds up to occupy exactly the same amount of space as any regular jack would.

3.5 times harder than titanium, the strongest metal known to mankind, Tungsten Carbide is akin to black gold in the EDC world. Give any gear a coating of Tungsten Carbide and it shines black like obsidian rock, with a unique metallic luster that’s glimmery in a subtle way… but more importantly, it makes them practically invincible, resisting any sort of external wear and tear. Pair it with Wingback’s series of exquisitely designed EDC and you’ve got the ideal combination of aesthetics and performance. Designed by Alasdair MacLaine, Wingback’s Black Steel collection sports three minimal-yet-functional products that are bound to be an unwavering part of your everyday carry. A bullet-sized Key Cache helps you store emergency money on your keychain, while a mechanical pen with its comfortable broad design promises to be the last pen you’ll ever want to use. Lastly, MacLaine’s 100ml hip-flask comes with the same cylindrical lathe-manufactured design as the other products in the series.

Essential car accessories designed to help you escape the trickiest emergency situations safely: Part 2

The highlight of the KIMBLADE NANO is its use of CNT (Carbon Nano Tubes) in the wiper blades. The blades themselves are made of silicon, but sport a thin layer of CNT at their tip that allows the wiper to clean the glass with sheer perfection and minimal degradation over time. The silicone and CNT blades last MUCH longer than traditional rubber blades do, and they sport a rectangular edge that’s much more efficient at picking up and sweeping water away from the glass windshield. The rectangular edge is perhaps the most important bit of innovation in the KIMBLADE NANO. Unlike other wipers that use a squeegee-style flat surface, the KIMBLADE NANO’s rectangular edge makes a more precise edge contact with the windshield.

This car charger is a lifesaver. No, not because it’ll power your phone when you’re desperately low on battery and you need to use Google Maps… but actually because this bad boy is your ticket to surviving a car crash. While the Ztylus Stinger serves its purpose as a car charger with two 2.4 ampere USB ports, it also includes a spring-loaded glass breaker and a seat-belt cutter hidden away in its incredible design. The spring-loaded glass breaker is actually concealed within the charging pin itself. Just grab the charger tightly and press it firmly against the glass. The spring triggers the breaking pin and the glass shatters instantly without the need for any force or even repeated striking. The Seat-belt cutter’s blade is placed strategically to ensure you just cut the belt and not yourself. The blade is incredibly sharp and slices through the belt’s fabric like a knife through butter.

Designed by a team of engineers and innovators, The Norshire Mini has some very compelling reasons to make it your must-have gear in the car. The cylinder shape earns it the required brownie points, as this is what makes it easily stow-able It hosts a tiny OLED display and capacitive touch, to make it easy to operate. The display showcases the current tire pressure and then the setting with which you want to inflate the tire with. Some of the intuitive features include a built-in microcomputer that measures the tire pressure when hooked to a tire.

This has to be one of the most compact key organizers that let you stack keys the way you want – car keys, bike keys, house keys – anything you carry often with you stays in your pocket in the most practical way possible. Named the Rhinokey EDC key organizer, it comes with loads of other multitools to get you through your general EDC needs. It can help you with screwing, prying, opening bottles, and wrenching when needed. Plus it has a bit holder, file, and ruler for those times when you just wish you had one of these tools. Very mindfully designed, the EDC key holder comes with a mini light to open the door lock in the dark without having to fish for your phone to do the task. You’ll never lose your car key again with the Rhinokey EDC key organizer!

TeslaAir admittedly sounded like a redundant product at first, but begins making sense when you realize how truly contaminated the air inside your car can actually get. Air that enters your car’s cabin via the HVAC is passed through a HEPA filter, that catches any dust and dirt, but given how it works primarily with air that’s coming from other cars’ exhausts, the HEPA filter only does so much. After a while, its ability to filter out pollutants degrades, leaving you to breathe air that may contain carbon monoxide, bacteria, viruses, microfibers, and pollen. TeslaAir is an external purifier that was designed to do the job your car’s HEPA filter stops doing every couple of thousand miles… and it doesn’t need filter replacements as your car does. It just needs to be wiped down with a tissue every 2-3 months.

Crafted from metal, Handy is an open-source tool designed to keep you safe and germ-free. Its simple design allows it to easily slip onto your fingers like brass knuckles, giving you a great degree of control. Hooks on the opposite end come with protruded dots for easily pressing buttons on a keypad or elevator, while the hooks themselves act as useful devices for pulling open doors, twisting handles, or even carrying bags. When all’s said and done, just slide Handy into your pocket, or better still, attach it to your keychain using its dedicated keychain-hole. Handy comes in two sizes, a larger one that’s open-source and 3D printable, and a smaller one that you can pre-order on designer Matteo Zallio’s website.

The WYN Bullet is one of those rare examples of EDC that was designed to save lives. Smaller than your finger, the WYN Bullet is a spring-loaded glass-shattering tool that helps you make a quick escape/rescue by instantly breaking a car’s toughened glass. Whether you’re inside your car trying to get out, or outside the car trying to save someone on the inside, the WYN Bullet’s one-push system can instantly shatter toughened glass panels, giving you swift entry into a locked car in emergencies.
