TheChefClub’s sleek, unibody culinary tools are designed to be harder better faster stronger

Owning TheChefClub’s knives is like receiving initiation into an exclusive group of people who take cooking seriously. Designed by the black-belts of the culinary arts, these knives look deadly cool, and are literally deadly sharp. The powder-steel construction gives them an edge that cuts through vegetables like butter, while the ergonomic shape, designed with careful consideration, helps you prep food faster and easier. The knife’s seamless monolithic design transitions poetically from blade to grip, while its shape encourages you to use the knife in its desired rocking motion for the best results.

TheChefClub’s knives were designed in partnership with multiple star-chefs and culinary experts to arrive at its iconic design. With a Matrix powder-steel body and a titanium coating, the set of 6 knives are arguably some of the sharpest in the world, while their ergonomic grip makes your hands fall absolutely in love with them. Crafted in a way that makes them sharp without making them brittle, TheChefClub’s knives have a way of retaining their sharpness over a longer span of time, offering high performance but requiring less maintenance over the years. The knife’s unibody design also comes with its set of advantages. A single-body form gives the knife the benefit of a full-tang, allowing for increased force and leverage… while the complete absence of screws/rivets, parting lines or tolerances, leaves absolutely no place for dirt, dust, oil, or water to get embedded into. The knives can be swiftly cleaned under a running stream of water, and that titanium coating takes things a step further by offering anti-corrosion and anti-microbial properties to each knife.

Backed by Michelin Star winning chefs, TheChefClub’s knives come in a set of 6 blades designed for various activities, from paring meat to julienning vegetables or even cutting through bread, and sit perfectly within TheChefClub’s knife block, a stylish glass casing to both store and showcase your knife set. The knives themselves come in a variety of 4 colors and finishes. You can choose between stainless steel versions in gloss or matte, or opt for the extra-durable titanium coated variants available in black or gold… and with sharpness and durability ratings that rank significantly higher than premium brands like Wusthof and Henckels, these knives should easily be the pride of your kitchen for a long time to come.

This gives it a minimal, awe-inspiring look that combines simplicity and raw power. Their Matrix powder steel blade is the main ingredient behind TheChefClub knives ultra sharpness and durability.

Comfortable unibody grip for safety and precision. They stripped away legacy features like the unhygienic wooden handle, and created a unibody piece that feels great in your hand and looks great to your eye. It compliments your dishes and complements your kitchen.

The soft lines and round finishing give a sense of playfulness that will make cooking a pleasant and recharging moment for yourself (or to share with others).

Choose your style between stainless (matte), stainless (glossy), black, or gold. TheChefClub knives blend in with any kitchen and complement its style, making a statement of your style and creativity.

The set includes a paring, utility, chef, Santoku, boning, and bread knife.

Design Meets Tech

When the team set out to create an uncompromising knife for every kitchen, they tested different materials, until they found the perfect one: Matrix powder steel. Matrix powder steel is specially engineered for a great balance of high hardness (HRC62) and high yield strength.

Powder steel is made in a very different way than casting, a process invented by NASA: the alloy is melted at high temperatures until it liquefies, and is then sprayed in a vacuum and cooled down very quickly using nitrogen (which can go as low as -210 °C / -346 °F). This makes the cooling down process very fast, creating tiny beads of steel, each having very similar alloying properties. Powder steels are then processed in different ways for different engineering and application requirements.

With the state of the art machines and lab-precision engineering (SLS), Matrix powder steel is then combined with stainless steel to form blades of high hardness, high yield strength and great corrosion resistance. This makes their knives exceptionally sharp, extremely durable, and accessible to every kitchen.

TheChefClub knives are coated with Titanium (PVD coating) for a harder surface, superior resistant to corrosion, anti-bacterial, and… sharp looking.

Effortlessly sharp.

In the Catra test, TheChefClub chef knife is 24% sharper, 37% more durable than SHUN, and 117% more durable than Wusthof.

The team wanted to put it to the ultimate test, and put it through the extreme dull test: cutting a strong hemp rope. In fact, they put it to the test against a $150 Zwilling knife. Here’s what happened. After 240 cuts, TheChefClub chef knife can still slice a tomato effortlessly.

The perfect knife block. The block is the perfect match for TheChefClub knives: versatile, hygienic, and fitting up to 8 pieces of knives. Unlike most blocks, their glass body is dishwasher safe, compact, and a celebration of your cooking skills.

This chef knife allows you to adjust the balance and weight via magnetic weights

When it comes to chopping or cutting, have you noticed that you tend to apply different angle of pressure to your hand, and you tip the knife according to the method you are employing? Now imagine you knife doing all the applying of pressure – independently – while you glide your way through the process of using a knife. The Balanced Kitchen Knife makes this possible, thanks to the weight it hosts in its handle.

A premium set of three knives, the Balanced Kitchen Knife set is customizable and fits your personal cooking and preparation style. Simply modify the weight and balance of the handle by adjusting the button on the handle. The system uses magnet technology for adjusting the weight – when you position the weight forward, you get a firm grip for chopping. When you move the weight to the back of the knife, you get a firmer grip for precision cutting.

VEARK’s Sleek Chef’s Knife is Reminiscent of Tool-design

Ask any chef worth their salt what their most precious tool is and the answer is invariably the knife. The knife is such an important and personal tool for a chef that most professional chefs carry their knives around with them as one of the most essential tools of their trade.

VEARK’s CK01 gives the knife blade the reverence it deserves. Literally designed to be a tool-of-trade, the knife’s design embodies aspects of tool-design, with a unibody construction, and a handle that feels firm and comfortable like the grip of a spanner. Each blade is drop-forged, giving the handle its unique, wonderful, grippy texture, and is then manually hand-finished to produce a blade that’s remarkably pure, sharp, and long-lasting.

The CK01 blades are all manufactured in Solingen, Germany, the holy grail of knife-manufacturing and bladesmithing in all of Europe. The drop-forging technique results in each knife handle having its own individual texture, each one unique like a fingerprint. After some high precision machining, experienced craftsmen then take the drop-forged piece of metal and grind and sharpen it by hand to bring out the blade’s smoothness and phenomenal sharpness. The finished stainless steel knife measures a stunning 58 on the Rockwell hardness scale, which means the knives are much more resistant than most stainless steel knives, and will hold their sharpness significantly longer than even high quality stainless steel kitchen knives that usually measure up to 55 on the Rockwell scale.

And the unibody design has more to offer then just great looks: The open handle design invites your thumb to rest on the blade and pinch grip the knife like a pro. The metal blade also provides a counterbalance that allows you to maneuver the knife with ease. A singular body also means the knife is easier to maintain, with no place for food, dirt, and dust to get wedged into. A simple rinse makes the CK01 as good as new!

The VEARK CK01 is perfect for using anywhere in the kitchen. Designed to be the one blade you gravitate towards for any cutting needs, the CK01 comfortably slices through fruits and vegetables, scores and carves meats, and even opens boxes, cartons, and plastic packaging. Made with a design-conscious approach, the CK01 is a rare knife that your eyes will fall in love with first, immediately followed by your hands. Preparing a meal to absolute perfection with this sharp blade, and hand-loving sleek design will be an utmost enjoyable experience to anyone from the cooking enthusiast to the seasoned chef!

The VEARK CK01 is a single piece 20cm stainless steel chef knife made in Solingen, Germany.

“Our aim was to create a piece that will generate its beauty and character from its raw appearance rather than by adding features like wood and rivets – less is more,” designer Daniel Ronge told Yanko Design.

Looking at how professional chefs hold their knives they developed the open handle design: it invites you to slide your thumb onto the blade and grab the knife right at the balance point – making it a pleasure to work with.

veark_single_piece_chef_knife_05

The manufacturing is done in a classic drop forging process which takes place in the traditional knife forging town of Solingen, Germany.

veark_single_piece_chef_knife_06

The drop forging process leaves each knife with its individual pattern on the handle, just like a fingerprint. So each knife is a unique piece – no two are alike. A beautiful detail that gives each knife its own character.

veark_single_piece_chef_knife_08

The CK01 features a 20cm (7,9″) blade while the overall length is 32cm (12,6″). It is drop forged from stainless steel (X50CRMoV15) and weighs 200g (7oz.).

The typical Solingen knife has a hardness of 55-56 Rockwell, they even exceed that at 58 Rockwell. What that basically means is: a harder knife can get sharper and remain a sharp edge for longer.

Literally a Razor Thin Blade!

The Skid knife looks pretty wicked… but I can’t really tell when the handle ends and the blade begins! Made out of 97% wood and just 3% carbon steel, the Skid knife looks absolutely sharp, both figuratively as well as literally! Incredibly light to hold, the knife allows the blade’s edge to be the heavier part of the cutting tool, giving you better control. The entire body of the knife is precisely crafted in wood, and coated in linseed oil, making the wood impervious to staining and increasing its lifespan.

The Skid challenges the way you perceive cutting tools. It’s the perfect example of a futuristic concept made real through perseverance and great design. The knife’s edge merges seamlessly with the body, creating something that looks so integrated, you’ll want to examine it for yourself. Carbon steel is one of the most favored materials in knife-making, owing to its durability and the ability for it to produce an incredibly sharp edge. The minimal blade edge occupies just 3% of the knife’s volume; and this does wonders for Skid’s carbon footprint. Skid produces incredibly low amounts of CO2 while manufacturing its blade, owing to its small size. In fact, they claim they can produce up to 60-70 knives in the same footprint as one regular steel chef knife. Skid’s choice of material even extends to the wooden body. The Skid comes in Robinia and Walnut that have self-cleansing and anti-bacterial properties.

Skid is a perfect example of how a product should be conceived, designed, and produced. Starting from a mere sketch, being refined through dozens of prototypes, and finally being validated by 20 of the top chefs in the world, the Skid isn’t just an incredible knife to use in your kitchen, it’s a brilliant case study of industrial design at its best!
