This Zelda Treasure Chest Holds an NES and a Levitating Triforce

This Wind Waker-style Legend of Zelda chest has some very special features, including a built-in NES console with a matching custom controller. But the real show-stopper is the Triforce that actually levitates and rotates on top.

That golden Triforce is made from acrylic, and uses electromagnetic levitation technology and near-field wireless power to do its thing. Whatever magic it uses, this is an amazing build. Check it out in action below:

If you like what you see, you can bid on it on eBay. This thing would look awesome in your game room.

3D Printed Hearthstone Box: He’s Gonna Be Rich

Behold, Julien de Muyter’s mighty invention! It’s a 3D printed replica of the magical box or chest that houses the animated game boards in Hearthstone.

Julien’s model measures about 10″x 8″x 6″ and takes between 20 to 25 hours total to print. You might be able to print it with colored filament, but Julien enlisted the help of a friend to paint the box in these images.

Borderlands Engagement Ring Loot Chest: Well Don’t You Look Brutal

Borderlands fan got a funny and thoughtful proposal in the form of this well made ring box, which was made to look like a loot chest from the irreverent first-person shooter. It even has the colorful information pop up, complete with funny quotes and stats.

Sadly, I couldn’t find the geeky artisan behind this sweet gesture. As far as I can tell, Nerdist’s Malik Forté found this image on 9gag and tweeted about it, causing it to bounce around the Web. This is the oldest 9gag post about it that I could find, but it could easily be a repost. What matters is that person now has 96.5% more happiness.

8-Bit Treasure Chest Holds Your Jewels, Baubles, and More

legendary-8-bit-treasure-chest-with-light-sound-xl

You don’t have to be a gamer to appreciate the uniqueness of this treasure box. The exterior features an 8-bit design reminiscent of chests you’d commonly see in video games. But what makes it extra special are the special effects that it comes with. When it’s opened, the chest lights up and plays a familiar treasure-finding tune that you’ve probably already heard (again, from in-game video game sound effects.)

If you’re looking for a discrete container for your jewelry, then this is not it. But if you’re looking for something fun to hold your cufflinks and other small items, then you might want to grab one or two of these.

The 8-Bit Treasure Chest with LEDs and Sound is available online for $29.99.

Legendary 8-Bit Treasure Chest: Item Get!

If you think the life-sized treasure chest is too big or expensive, check out ThinkGeek’s tiny version. It measures just 4″ wide, 4.5″ tall and 3″ deep. But what it lacks in size it makes up for in fanfare. It lights up and emits a chiptune tone when opened.

These images should give you an idea of how small it is:

Zelda: A Link Between Worlds Collector’s Edition Has a Tiny Musical Chest: Ta Da Da Da!

You can buy an unofficial life-sized replica of the treasure chests from The Legend of Zelda. It turns out there’s also an official replica of said treasure chest, except it fits in the palm of your hand. The musical treasure chest will be included in the collector’s edition of the upcoming Nintendo 3DS game The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds.

The treasure chest can store up to five 3DS cartridges.

It emits the classic melodic fanfare when you open it, as demonstrated by The Legend of Zelda producer Eiji Aonuma and Nintendo President Satoru Iwata in the Vine video below (be sure to turn on the sound)…

I’m not sure if the collector’s edition will be released globally, but it’s available for pre-order in the UK via Game, in Spain via Game as well and in Australia via EBGames. Aside from the chest, the limited edition bundle will also come with a poster and a Nintendo eShop download code for the Game Boy classic The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening.

Musical Life-Sized Treasure Chest from the Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time

The Zelda games have some pretty cool treasure chests and if you want one for yourself, you don’t need to plunder a dungeon or defeat a boss to get one. This neat musical life-sized treasure chest based on the ones in The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time and Majora’s Mask should fill the bill.

It comes from Etsy seller BygonesandPowerUps, who clearly knows her way around a dungeon. This chest is made of wood and stained in pine. It is about 5.75 inches deep when opened, not including the domed lid.

As an added bonus, when you open this one you hear the chest-opening fanfare sound from Zelda: A Link to the Past:

The life-sized Zelda treasure chest will cost you $150(USD) – I wonder how much that works out to in Rupees.
