With this space heater + hanging rack, your clothes will always have that fresh-from-the-dryer feel

You know the feeling when you pull on a sweater that is fresh from the dryer? The comforting, all-encompassing warmth that fades too quickly? There are ways to replicate that feeling without jacking up your electric bill with unnecessary dryer runs. I sometimes drape my socks on my space heater, for instance. This method, while cheap, has two obvious problems:

1) I’m mildly worried that it is a fire hazard,

2) the clothes block the warm air from heating my room.

The Smartmi Heater has solved both these problems with two design changes. The first is simple – adding an adjustable handlebar to the heating unit. When the bar is in the upright position, it functions similarly to the handle of a briefcase, making the appliance more portable despite its bulk. If you pull it down in front of the heating unit itself, it acts as a rack to dry or warm up your clothes. (Finally, I can get that fresh-from-the-dryer warmth without risking a fire.)

Of course, the adjustable bar poses a similar problem to my proposed “socks on the heater” method. Sure, your towels or sweaters will get warm and toasty, but your room may miss the flood of warm air directly aimed at your cold feet. The Smartmi fixes this issue by allowing warm air to flow from two outlets: straight out from the unit’s front and out from the top. This means that warm air can still fill the room, even if the heater’s face is blocked by a curtain of clothes.

These are minor design changes, yet they make all the difference for the user experience. They allow for maximum coziness and warmth, setting the product apart from its competitors. The holidays may be over, but for many readers, winter is still very much in season. If that is the case, you may want to warm your stockings over the Smartmi heater.

This clothing rack that steams + hangs your clothes for you is a must have for every millennial apartment!

What does laundry for most young adults look like? First, you carry an overflowing hamper to the laundromat next to your apartment. Next, you stuff as many clothes as you can fit into one of the washing machines (without separating my darks and whites). Once the washing cycle finishes, you’ll pull out a handful of clothes to hang dry in your closet while throwing the rest in a dryer. In my case, I want to say that I separate my wet laundry because some of my shirts are too delicate for a tumble dry cycle. In reality, I do this to save an extra quarter on what I spend on drying the clothes that don’t fit on the hangers in my closet.

I am not the only person who takes similar shortcuts when doing laundry (otherwise, I wouldn’t have shared this story). In fact, the Sanute was designed for young adults like myself, whose closets double as a drying rack for their wet laundry. Or, like my roommate, whose drying rack basically functions as a holder for her dry clothes. As children, we are told to fold and put away our clean clothes after they finish drying. As independent adults with busy work schedules, many of us don’t mind leaving our clothes on the rack … at least, until our parents come to visit.

At first glance, the Sanute looks like it could be a heating unit that came with your apartment. However, it opens to reveal multiple slots on which your clothes can dry. There’s also a top drawer where you can place smaller items like your undergarments and socks. This closed-off design choice lets you present a tidy room for visitors who might not want to see your clothes dangling out in the open. With the Sanute, you don’t have to remove your clothes and hang them in the closet after they finish drying. The Sanute is your closet.

The Sanute is also a dehumidifier and an air freshener, allowing you to bring the fresh, clean smell of a laundromat into your living space. This multifunctional appliance would drastically improve the lives of its users, and it’s clear that the designers thought long and hard about the needs of their target consumers. To increase ease of usage, each individual slats can be pulled out to hang help you remove only what you want to wear that day, without messing up your remaining clothes. I can easily imagine having a Sanute in my apartment and how many quarters I would save by having a personal dryer. Perfectly millennial-friendly, don’t you think?

This purifier’s 4 part cleansing process works on your clothes and your room

Now more than ever we are looking for home appliances that are multifunctional and extra points to those that have additional cleaning or purification functions, right? If I find a keyboard that can also sanitize my hands then maybe I will spend more time working from home, or maybe a coffee mug that also doubles up as a portable facial steamer! The concept of combining purification functionality with a home appliance is a gold mine right now and that is why there is no surprise that the FAD 01/02 clothing and air multi-care system is one of the winners of the Red Dot Design Awards 2019.

This clothes purifier is a mini wardrobe with a large mirror that not only purifies your clothes but also your room when you leave its door open – much friendlier than how my refrigerator acts when I do the same thing with it. As the dust pollution and pollen allergies increase, this sleek home appliance offers a solution by blasting precise gushes of air on the hung clothes to removes the dust and pollen. The continuous air circulation means no particles are left behind on the clothing. It allows you to select settings for different types of clothing items, different materials, and cleansing options on its user-interface screen.

It’s dual cleaning system then sprays nano electrolyzed water onto the clothing, absorbing and removing odor and leftover dust particles. After that, the clothes are dried and dehumidified in a low-temperature setting. The FAD 01/02 ensures your clothes come out clean and wrinkle-free thanks to its intricate 4-part system and a methodical cleansing process. Once your clothes are out, leave the door open and let its dehumidifying and air purifying systems work to cleanse your indoor air as well – works in all seasons too!

The Next Best Thing to the Clothes Line

solair_01

Drying on an outdoor clothes line is not only more commonplace than you’d think, it’s preferable as an efficient and eco-friendly way to keep your clothes staying fresh after they’ve been washed. Anyone who appreciates this time-tested method knows how a rainy or cloudy day can ruin things. Instead of crisp and dry, a sunless day can leave your clothes damp and mildewy. That’s where Solair comes in.

This ultra-portable appliance makes it possible to air dry your clothes when the sun’s taking a break. About the size of an ironing board when collapsed, users can simply unfold it, hang up clothes, and activate the heated fans to circulate warm air around the items. While it’s not intended for everyday use, it’s the perfect addition to the laundry room for anyone who lives in an area where showers and clouds can sneak up on you.

A Banger Washing Machine + Hanger

samsung_hanger_dryer_1

The Samsung Hanger Washing Machine just completes the entire washing process with an additional step. Spinning doesn’t get rid of all the water, and hanging the clothes in the sun is something everyone is forced to do. The Samsung Hanger WM (short for washing machine!) integrates a powerful air-blower into the machine’s design. One simply hangs the clothes underneath the wall-mounted appliance and the hot wind blows the moisture out of the clothing. Its additional benefit is that it instantly de-creases the clothes, meaning you don’t have to iron them. You also have the benefit of adding a fragrance to the hot air, so that your clothes don’t just look fresh, they smell fresh too. The Samsung Hanger WM literally takes care of your clothes from laundry-bag back to the closet! Now isn’t that a dream come true?!

Dry Undies in a Flash!

Designed for areas that widely rely on clothes lines, the Ôyer portable dryer is for smaller garments like underwear & socks that often require faster drying, especially during wet seasons when air drying takes longer because of humidity. Garments are placed within a protective bag inside the unit where fresh air is circulated. Internal sensors detect the humidity level in the air within, adjusting the temperature and air flow to dry clothes in the fastest and most efficient way possible.
