Swarovski Crystal Halo Master Chief Helmet and Energy Sword: Spartan Bling

To celebrate the 20th anniversary of the franchise and the release of Halo: Infinite, Microsoft has teamed up with Swarovski to craft crystal Master Chief Mjolnir helmets and Energy Swords. I don’t know about you, but I could see either dangling proudly from a gold chain around my neck.

Swarovski created 117 of the helmets and swords (in honor of Master Chief’s Spartan number), which will be given away to fans in raffles via visiting a Swarovski store and scanning a QR code, or entering online at their website. I just created eight new email addresses to increase my winning chances and will be absolutely crushed if I don’t get one.

Master Chief’s Mjolnir helmet was cut from a single crystal and contains 140 facets, and the Energy Sword was constructed from 13 crystal pieces with 204 total facets. The helmet also includes a tinted visor portion, so you know it’s Master Chief’s and not just some dirt bike helmet. That will be an important distinction when I’m reselling the one I win from the contest on eBay.

Nike x Swarovski Air Force Ones: Just Don’t Do It

Because questionable product collaborations come in all shapes and sizes, Nike and Swarovski have teamed up to produce these $450 crystal-accented Air Force Ones. Available in all black and all-white colorways, the sneakers are covered with Swarovski studded webbed panels, which are removable with an included Nike branded flathead screwdriver. Me? I just want the screwdriver.

At first glance, I really thought they were Christmas lights and not crystals, which made a lot more sense to me. Make them light up red and green and add some candy cane striped laces and you’ve got the perfect pair of sneakers to compliment an ugly Christmas sweater this holiday season.

Like my favorite substitute teacher in high school, Mrs. Gitland used to say, “Different strokes for different folks.” And maybe gaudy Swarovski studded Nikes are your stroke. I’m not here to judge you for your idea of design, I’m just here to wonder what your living room must look like.

The Crystalline chandelier for Melissa’s NYC shoe store looks like a massive glowing geode

Don’t be surprised if you walk into Melissa’s flagship store in New York and you find yourself trying on less shoes and taking more pictures with the massive lighting structure hanging from the ceiling. Meet Crystalline, a lighting installation created by SOFTlab for the shoe brand’s New York outlet. Inspired by the Winter line of shoes, the lighting design looks almost like you’re inside a crystal cave, with geode formations around you.

The installation hangs from the ceiling, with multiple bulbs sitting laid out in an asymmetric fashion. A thin metal frame provides the ideal framework for pearlescent acrylic panels to mounted on, making the structure look like a crystalline formation emitting a steady glow. 50 unique cells and over 400 pieces of custom cut aluminum help bring the lighting unit together, and the dichroic acrylic panels help allow the chandelier to change color as you change your viewing angle. It also casts a rainbow spectrum of colorful swatches across the store, truly making the retail experience ‘magical’!

Swarovski Crystal Batmobile Based on Tim Burton’s Version

The Batmobile has been in the news recently with the reveal of the version that’s expected to appear in Matt Reeves’ upcoming Batman movie. While Batman’s new sled looks like a muscle car on steroids, previous versions were much more based in fantasy. Each reboot of DC’s superhero franchise results in a new Batmobile, and one of my favorites is the variant that Anton Furst designed for Tim Burton’s 1989 Batman.

If you love Burton’s Batmobile, and also like fancy shiny things, then check out this slick crystal version made by Swarovski.

The jet black crystal Batmobile measures just under 6″ long, and features a cool mix of low-poly facets along with key design elements from Michael Keaton’s iconic ride. Up front is that big turbine air intake, while those cape-inspired bat wings round out the Batmobile’s rear end. Now that I understand vehicle aerodynamics more than I did back in ’89, I don’t know why you’d want those things instead of a horizontal spoiler though. With all that thrust, you’d want all the downforce you could get. And it’s not like Bruce Wayne couldn’t afford the most expert vehicle engineers to tell him this. But I digress.

In all there are 473 facets on the crystal sculpture, which would look amazing in serious Batfan’s collection. You can purchase this wonderful crystal Batmobile for $599 – which seems like a lot of coin until you realize that Swarovski maskes a far more sparkly version of the Batmobile that sells for a whopping $11,500.

An entire watch made from sapphire?

The reason the Bell & Ross BR-X1 Skeleton Tourbillion Sapphire Watch looks so spectacular is because rather than opting for the regular stainless steel body with sapphire crystal glass on the front, the watch itself comes made entirely machined from sapphire crystal.

It therefore not only looks incredible with its skeletal, bare-basics look, tilt it just a bit and the sapphire crystal’s refractive index creates a beautiful diamond-like glimmer around the edges.

Painstakingly machined from a solid billet of sapphire (which is a task in itself since sapphire is so brittle), the BR-X1’s entire body is transparent, exposing the BR-CAL.288 hand-wound skeleton tourbillon movement on the inside. The mechanism drives the two hands located at the 12 o’clock position, balanced by the beautiful flying tourbillion complication at the 6 o’clock position. The entire body, given its crystal construction, is made to be anti-reflective, so not only can you read the time easily, you can admire your watch just as easily too! That’s if you’re one of the 8 people who got their hands on this extremely limited edition piece.
