UK “Cops” Use Dalek to Scare People into Isolating

When it comes to scary monsters from science fiction, Doctor Who’s Daleks rank high on the list. These soulless robotic aliens go around the universe, exterminating all those who stand in their way. So what better way to get people to stay inside of their homes during the COVID-19 pandemic, then to bring a Dalek to their doorsteps?

Somewhere in the UK, somebody programmed a Dalek to drive around a neighborhood and proclaim “ALL HUMANS MUST KEEP INDOORS. ALL HUMANS WILL SELF ISOLATE. BY ORDER OF THE DALEKS.” If that doesn’t get you to shelter in place, nothing will. Except maybe some weeping angels hanging outside your front door.

While I was hoping this was done by an actual police department, the stunt actually appeared on the Sandford Police twitter feed. And if you don’t know who the Sandford Police are, you need to stop what you’re doing, and go stream Hot Fuzz right now.

Two-Faced Dalek Wedding Cake

This Dalek cake is like a Doctor Who mullet, business in front, party in back. Or is it the opposite here? The cake features a Dalek on the front half, and on back it is a traditional wedding cake. It was baked and decorated by the folks at Wellingborough, United Kingdom based Amelia Rose Cake Studio.

It probably represents the bride and the groom, because the wife can be a real Dalek. Know what I mean? Nah. I kid. It represents the two stages of marriage: Happiness, then extermination. Nah. I kid. I kid. I love marriage.

Seriously, this is an awesome Doctor Who wedding cake that incorporates the best of both worlds, both geeky and traditional.

The Daleks are Coming for Real

You thought it was just science fiction. Oh, another Dalek. The Doctor can handle it and it will all be over in an hour. Wrong! It looks like the first Dalek prototype is upon us in the real world.

Engineers from China’s National Defense University created this robot for security policing purposes. It looks familiar no? They call it “AnBot,” but it sure reminds me of a Dalek. All it needs is an eyestalk, a manipulator arm and gun. Sure it doesn’t look threatening right now – until they program it to say “EXTERMINATE!”. Then maybe people will pay attention and stop this terrible apocalypse before it is too late.

Where is the Doctor when we need him? Somebody call U.N.I.T. at least!

Dalek Caan Baby Stroller Makes for a Terrifying Toddler

Comedian and writer Rye Silverman was at the Gallifrey One convention over the weekend and found something truly terrifying. Dalek Caan lives! And he has merged with a human baby. This adorably terrifying baby/Dalek is looking for the Doctor in his or her Dalek Caan baby stroller. It is the perfect disguise for killing Time Lords.

It will lure him close with the cuteness of the baby and then exterminate with the craziness of Caan. Thing is, there were probably so many Doctors there, the little tyke must have worn himself/herself out shooting all day. Probably got all cranky and tried to blow up the minivan on the way home too.

These Dalek Dresses Will Exterminate Gawkers

We’ve seen our share of Dalek dresses. In fact I’m surprised they haven’t taken over the world like the Daleks themselves tend to do. These are a little different than the typical Dalek dresses we are used to seeing.

These screenprinted versions are from Etsy seller Kaotichandbag. They look like they came straight out of the show and possessed these dresses. They are available in both black and gold versions. This would make a neat gift for any female Doctor Who fan.

They will cost you about $100(USD) but they are totally worth it since they are pretty stunning. All eyes will be on you, that’s for sure. And then you can exterminate them.

Artist Makes Awesome Pics from Duct Tape

Silence is golden, duct tape is silver… or orange, red, blue, or white. Duct tape can fix just about anything and is one of the best inventions ever. A artist named Rianna from DuctTapeDesigns has created some very cool art using duct tape as the medium.

Rianna does fantastic work and if I couldn’t see the detail showing the tape, I would think these were paintings. Doctor Who fans will immediately recognize the TARDIS and Dalek made from tape. I really like the Iron Man and Batman work. The Dexter one is also a favorite.

I always wonder how long it takes to make art like this. I’ve watched some artists work before and sometimes the process is much faster than you might expect, but these look really complicated. Which of these is your favorite?

Dalek Relaxation Tapes Exterminate Tension

Last week we saw the new Dalek Doctor Who episode for series eight called “Into The Dalek”. But what were the Daleks up to between their appearance last year and their appearance this year? How did they spend their time? The answer might surprise you.

That’s right. During their absence from Doctor Who, the Daleks have been working in and have now released a series of new-age relaxation tapes. For me personally, I could more easily relax to a cheese grater rubbing up against an electric guitar with the amp turned all the way up.

I bet this really puts Davros in a super relaxing state though.

Doctor Who Dalek Nail Art: Davros Nailed It

This 3D Doctor Who nail art is probably how a human/Dalek hybrid would give itself away to the Doctor, as it’s Dalek half began to take over. That would be a cool episode. Also, if we ever get a female Doctor, this might be her manicure of choice.

They look especially menacing on those plastic finger display models. It’s as if the Autons and Daleks have teamed up. Etsy seller GingerdeadHouse sells these Dalek digit designs for $20(USD) for a full set. They are for the discriminating female Whovian who wants very badly to be a Dalek.

As if women’s nails weren’t dangerous enough. Now they can slash and exterminate.

The Ultimate Dalek Costume

If you want to dress up as a Dalek, you have to go full Dalek and be completely covered in armor. This awesome Dalek costume is the way to go.

This full size Dalek is mostly made of wood with some metal and fiberglass parts. The lenses on top light up, the head rotates and the arms can be moved around. There is even a small wooden seat inside for you to sit in, or you can stand up and walk around.
