T-Rex Eating Gnomes Garden Sculpture: Jurassic Yard

Garden gnomes: they live hard lives. They constantly have to be on the lookout for hungry cats and other wild animals. Apparently including dinosaurs, as is the case with this t-rex eating garden gnomes sculpture made by SOWSUN and available on Amazon (affiliate link). I can already see all my existing gnomes scrambling in terror.

Each resin statue is hand-painted with UV-resistant paint to prevent fading and measures approximately 14″H x 10″L x 6″W. Am I going to buy a whole army of them? I mean, it’s kind of hard not to know that the idea is in my head. Hey honey – I’m just going to borrow your credit card for a minute, okay?

Which gnome is your favorite? I like the one that’s being trampled underfoot. I also like the one in the t-rex’s jaws with his eyes closed, already resigned to a painful, crushing death. Clearly, that gnome didn’t grow up with a cartoon frog-choking-the-stork-that’s-eating-it ‘NEVER GIVE UP’ poster in his bedroom.

15 Cool Alien Artworks from Etsy

Are you a huge sci-fi fan? Do you like aliens? Looking for some new, awesome, and beautiful art to hang on your walls? Well, the search is over, because I have a list of fifteen cool Alien artworks from Etsy! Ranging from the incredibly cheap, to the unbelievably expensive, there’s something here for every art connoisseur.

Read on to look at the list!

Space Decal

I love how this isn’t just a decal, but a decal that makes the wall look like its bursting open. I think it’s a very cool effect and the image on the decal is beautiful. It really does transform a living room into a spaceship.

Alien Skull With Tentacles

My goodness, if I told you this was hand carved, would you believe me? It certainly is, and it’s absolutely breathtaking. More spectacular pieces from this same artist also appear on this list, because I just couldn’t look away.

Alien Parody of Famous Painting

We’ve all seen this painting before right? But wait, is that an alien instead of a person? I’ve always been a fan of taking already famous pieces and seeing them altered into something new. It’s a silly painting, but it’s impressive all the same.

Alien Predator Wood Engraving

Another gorgeous wood artwork that I just can’t get enough of. This one is recognizable as a character from the Alien movie franchise. Fitting for an article dedicated to aliens right?

London UFO Invasion Lino Print

I love this unique artwork. I don’t see art like this too often, as its a style that doesn’t seem to be all that popular, but look at its simplicity. It may be simple, but it’s intricate and detailed at the same time. The scene its portraying is great too, an alien invasion on the city of London.

Gray Mass of Tentacles

So when you look at this one, what do you see? I see a gray mass of tentacles, which is why I titled it this way, but the thing is, it’s a bit abstract. Not everyone is a fan of abstract art, but I like how it’s up for interpretation, and that there’s something eerie about this painting.

Cute Little Alien

By far the most adorable piece of art on this list, I had to include for those of you who are looking for less creepy alien artworks. It’s perfect for decorating a child’s room as well. Gosh, I can’t stop thinking about how cute it is.

Creepy Alien Fish

Speaking of creepy, here is one of the creepiest pieces on the list. By the same artist as the Gray Mass of Tentacles, this one isn’t abstract. We can see that it’s a fish, an otherworldly, terrifying fish.

Ancient Alien Guy

Okay, he’s not an alien, I know. But this is an article that’s all about aliens, so I had to include him. He’s one of my favorite memes ever, and here he is on a poster, looking cute as heck. I know I’d hang this on my wall.

Alien Wood Carving

The third wood carving on this list, and once again, I’m blown away by how fantastic it is. Just breathtaking.

Alien Fish Undersea Painting

I absolutely love the colors on this piece. It’s so bright, vibrant, and fun. It reminds me of the Beatles, “Yellow Submarine.” Remember that movie? This is one of my favorite art styles ever.

Alien in Nightgown Painting

Sexy, or scary? You decide. I think it’s mostly scary, but it’s a gorgeous painting as well, and very unique.

Alien Metal Sculpture

Looking at all this art, I am reminded of my lack of artistic talent. Anyway, look at this amazing sculpture! It’s made out of metal! And it’s made out of recycled material.

UFO Hand Embroidered Art

I love the quote on this piece, and I love how it’s made out of fabric. It’s unique in that it’s not a painting or a carving like most of the items on this list, but it’s all embroidered by hand. Very cool.

Alien on Newspaper

The last selection of the list, and a piece that I love very much.

Did you fall in love with any of this wonderful pieces? There’s tons more to dig through on Etsy, so be sure to have a look there!

Death Star Christmas Tree Topper

jgsv_star_wars_death_star_tree_topper

As far as we’re concerned, on the very first day after Halloween, the Christmas period starts. Or the Holiday Season, if you’re political sensitive. And some of us are going to erect a Christmas tree. It would be cool if you put something awesome on top, instead of that old fashioned star. How about a Death Star? What could be more poetic? Yes, that’s right, you’re looking at a Death Star tree topper. It lights up red or blue (and green), and plays two iconic Star Wars compositions: the Star Wars theme and the Imperial March. It even comes with a remote control. And, sadly, it’s going to set you back a hefty $99. That’s if you can even manage to get your hands on one, since it’s out of stock indefinitely.

Game of Thrones Dragon Egg Ornaments: GoT Cheer?

Normally, fire-breathing dragons and Christmas trees don’t mix. Those dry pine trees will catch fire and set your house ablaze in an instant. While the Khaleesi might survive the flames, your gifts under the tree won’t. Luckily these dragon ornaments won’t catch the tree on fire because they are still in egg form.

Then again, perhaps if your tree catches fire you will end up with three dragons flying about. Honestly, dragons seem like a lot of work. I can only imagine the terror of housebreaking a dragon.

10 bucks will get you a randomly selected egg ornament, which could produce Drogon, Rhaegal, or Viserion. Grab yours over at ThinkGeek.

Zombie Flamingos (aka The Squawking Dead)

Halloween is going to be here before you know it, and that means It’s The Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown will be airing soon. In the leadup to that airing and all the kids out begging for free candy, it’s about time to decorate your house.

You don’t want any regular old decorations like vampires or normal zombies, those are so overdone. What you want on your lawn is a pair of zombie flamingos.

These flamingos are black with red eyes and scary giant teeth. If you’re wondering why zombie flamingos aren’t pink, it’s because pink is for the living. There are two styles with one standing upright and the other bent over eating. Presumably, it just finished chowing down on one of the neighborhood kids.

They sell for $29.99(USD) each over at ThinkGeek, and you can get them just in time to horrify your lawn.

The Webcaster Gun Slings Hot Glue Webs

jhoo_webcaster_gun

With Labor Day not even passed yet, it might seem a little premature to be talking about Halloween already, but there you have it. The Webcaster Gun will make all your decorating efforts easier, since its primary job is to sling thin spiderweb-like nets wherever you point it. It’s basically a hot glue gun with an air blower underneath the nozzle; as the hot glue comes out, the air blows it into thin strands that stick to any surface since they’re still hot. You can spray up to 1.5 lbs of glue per hour in this fashion and cover your entire house in “spider” webs. The gun itself is $29.99, and 20 sticks of glue are an additional $5.99.

Webcaster Gun Lets You Sling Molten Hot Webs of Hot Glue

I was at Wal-Mart yesterday because I just really felt like standing in line at a massive store with 57 checkout lanes, but on only two open. I noticed that hoards of Halloween candy and decoration are already out, so I bought some candy (for the kids mind you). If you are the sort who needs to get working on their complex Halloween decorations already, you might need to pick up the Webcaster gun.

It makes spider webs that you can use for decorating your stuff that looks better than those bags of stringy fill stuff you can get and never quite remove fully from your shrubs. I’m pretty sure this Webcaster gun is nothing more than a hot glue gun that you hook to a shop vac hose. The powerful jet of air blowing over the hot glue turns it into thin strands of molten plastic that look just like spi

It will spray 1.5 pounds of webbing per hour and ships with only one stick. A refill pack of 20 sticks will cost you $5.99 and the gun itself sells for $29.99 at ThinkGeek. Perhaps you can replicate this effect with a leaf blower and a hot glue gun.

Deadpool Caesar Bust: Et Tu, Gravimetric Anomaly?

If you are a big Deadpool fan you will want to check this out. Yep, this is a bust of Deadpool dressed as Julius Caesar, complete with his gold laurel wreath headband. Deadpool’s got his swords on back, and even though they don’t look anything like the swords from the movie, they’re still pretty cool.

Each of the busts are limited edition and hand painted by Gentle Giant LTD. It is made of a polyresin material and has a certificate of authenticity.

It’s not clear exactly how large the bust is, but it does look great. The bust will be available in April 2017 for $79.99 via Entertainment Earth.

Have Yourself a Very Chemistry Christmas

Each Halloween, we see all sorts of cool carved pumpkins, but we rarely see any Christmas trees that aren’t real or faux trees. This year we have run across a couple interesting “chemis-trees.” These have the look of a Christmas tree, but they are made using beakers, tubes, and cylinders that are attached to a pole by beaker holders.

The result are two Christmas trees that any science geek will love. My favorite is the one with the atomic symbol at the top. It also appears to have DNA and atomic models scattered about as well. I even see a Rubik’s Cube on there.

The other is a bit more plain, but does make use of tubing for garland, and has what I think is a star made out of coffee stir sticks.
