Doggy Igloo will be a refreshing haven for your pooch during the hottest months of the year

Each doghouse is made with its own USP. If some are built with thick mattresses for comfort, there are others made with playfulness in mind. But a designer thinks existing kennels have not addressed the requirement of dogs that get hot in summers: by virtue of the environment or the thickness of their fur!

Seungmean Lee is clear about the fact that we need to care for our furry friends, especially during the scorching summer months. Since humans have the ability to regulate their body temperature, pets often struggle to stay cool, and need special attention, he believes. This is particularly true for certain breeds like Siberian Huskies and Malamutes who are more susceptible to the heat due to their polar habitation or double coat. As responsible pet owners, we need to provide them with a cool environment where they can seek relief from the sweltering heat and this is where Igloo comes in.

Air conditioning may not be a viable option for all pet owners, as it is neither practical nor healthy for dogs to be kept in an artificially cooled space all the time. An innovative solution thereby can help pets beat the heat. The igloo is a specially designed resting place capable of creating a cool environment for pets, regardless of their breed or natural habitat.

With an igloo, all pets can enjoy the benefits of a cool space freely and comfortably helping them stay happier and healthier anywhere. Igloo features a streamlined passage and an inner dome structure that ensures optimal functionality and safety while allowing your dog to move in and out of the cool environment effortlessly.

The Igloo operates automatically via sensors embedded within the entrance. When the temperature is high, it will sense the pet entering and alter the temperature you have set to your pet’s comfort. The thoughtfully designed passage of the Igloo ensures that the cold air inside does not circulate out of the Igloo, maintaining a consistently cool interior.

Operating the igloo and its automatic cooling system is as simple as its idea. With a press of the power button located at the top, you can activate the dog house. Depending on the situation, you can set (or preset, if you’re stepping out of the house) the wind strength or temperature to create a perfectly cool resting place for your furry companion.

The Igloo incorporates an external micro camera that allows you to keep an eye on your furry friend from afar, ensuring you have a tab on well-being through real-time monitoring. Given its automatic cooling system, interesting construction and an idea every pooch will love, Igloo deserves to see the light of day.

This doghouse that doubles up as a modular sofa has been designed for millennials and their pets!

Our pets are a lot more than simply ‘our pets’, they’re our best friends, family, and constant companions. And my two fluffy Persian cats are like my babies! My ultimate aim in life is to keep them happy and satisfied, and I’m sure that’s the case with most pet owners. We want to give our pets the world, and sometimes the world comes in the form of fun and cosy pet products! One such product is the Playground by Ming-Wei Xiao.

The Playground is a doghouse that also alternates as a modular sofa! The various modules of the sofa can be arranged creating not only different sofa designs but also fun spaces wherein your doggo can hop, bounce and play about! The wooden doghouse on one side of the furniture piece seems super comfy and adorable! A little hole on its roof, allows your dog to pop his head out of the doghouse, and connect/interact with you while you lounge about on the sofa. It’s the perfect way to spend quality time! Xiao designed Playground, especially for millennial pet owners. The designer kept in mind that the homes of millennials often have space constraints, and nor do they have much free time on their hand. Hence, Playground is extremely easy to put together, and will not occupy much space in our modern-day cramped apartments. Since Playground was created for young target customers, Xiao tried to give it a trendy and cool appearance! Bright colors, minimal woodwork, and a little plant give the furniture design a modern appeal.

Playground is a fun and interactive product design, that helps pet owners and their pets connect better. Its minimal and attractive aesthetics also allow it to seamlessly merge with the interiors of any living space. Playground is the perfect pet product for millennials!

One zip is all it takes to clean this pet house!

I think the only argument you can have over a pet (I have it with my sister all the time!) is who’s going to clean up the hair they shed? It gets everywhere from your clothes to your furniture, and probably even your food. Your furry friend can’t help it, they will shed and it is impossible to get every last hair. But to make it easier, a Korean designer has created this pet house called Zipup which reduces the time and effort you spend cleaning. Also, how sleek does it look? It’s the kind of house a dog called James Bond would have!

The pet house is designed with comfortable fabric and features a lined pattern on the resting pad. It also has a very modern-looking shade inspired by strollers. Zipup has a very simple yet efficient concept to solve this pet-hair-everywhere problem, one zip motion will swipe the hair off the resting pad your pet sits on. Truly, it is that easy and the most amount of hair will be in the pet house so once you get that, 80% of your job is done. The zipper has a round easy grip and you slide it across the line for the hair to collect at the bottom which lets you empty it more conveniently than running around the house with a vacuum (let’s be honest, a broom is no match for a non-hypoallergenic pet). Don’t you just want to get it in all three colors right hair, right now?

The best doghouse for your best-boy!

Might I loosely paraphrase Mean Girls this fine Wednesday by saying that this doghouse ‘is so fetch’! Literally titled the Fetch House, this doggy-kennel is made from a 3D-printed skeleton that holds a thousand tennis balls to make what I can only describe as canine paradise. I mean look at how pleased the dog looks in the picture above!

The Fetch House was designed by CallisonRKTL as an entry into the Bark + Build Pet House Design & Build Competition held in Dallas, Texas. The house (designed to shelter one incredibly happy canine) comes with a modular internal structure that allows you to compression-fit as many as a 1000 tennis-balls into it. The balls can randomly be pulled out of their individual enclosures for the purpose of playing fetch (hence the name), and can easily be press-fitted back in when done. Conversely, owners can add fewer balls to form patterns in the facade or create windows for light and ventilation. “Ultimately, we would like to create a platform that allows individuals to customize the doghouse design based on their specific dog,” says Brendan O’Grady, VP of CRKTL’s Dallas office. “They can then download the digital model and use a local maker space or their own desktop 3D printer to fabricate the structure.” Now isn’t that just paw-fect?

Cool Digs for Dogs and Cats

PETMONSTER is a ludic approach to the pet-house that takes ergonomics, functionality, aesthetics, material &manufacturing process into consideration for a happier, healthier Fluffy & Fido. An integrated motion sensor and smart app connectivity give owners updates and peace of mind when they’re away. With antennae, atomic legs, vibrant colors, silly shapes and an overall funky retro aesthetic, they’re a playful, smart alternative to the commonly drab dog and cat houses out there!
