With just over a month to go before the PlayStation 5 arrives, Sony has at last revealed which PS4 games won’t work on the next-generation console. Thankfully, the list is very short. The 10 titles that won’t make the cut, via @Nibellion, are DWVR, A...

The 20th anniversary dualshock 4 will be sold separately

ps4-limited-ed-1

On december, last year, the PlayStation brand turned 20, so they released a limited edition PS4 with the classic colors from the PS1. To keep the celebration going, Sony announced the relaunch of the DualShock 4 grey controllers in the same gamma, which will be sold separately without the bundle.

The 20th anniversary DualShock 4 shown in Las Vegas last year is going to be relaunched on september for European countries, and in late september/early october for American territories. There are no certainties if other regions will also get their own limited edition DualShock 4, but Sony is doing their part to keep the 20th anniversary celebration going.

Besides the new color gamma tributing the original PlayStation, this new edition of the DualShock 4 isn’t any different from the regular, original controllers which came in black, red, yellow and blue. What’s more, with the touch pad taking a huge portion of the controller’s front, there is not a lot of room left to feature the PS symbols like the ones that came with the original 20th anniversary PS4 did, but will feature the “dots” seen in every other DualShock 4 model instead. And yet, despite all of this, it gets our nostalgia glands going, and the grey finishing looks just beautiful. Sony, can we get commercially released bundles all in grey? We’d probably buy a PS4 all over again.

White Nyko Xbox One/PS4 Charger Is the Very Definition of Style

Nyko GameStop Xbox One - PS4 Charger

Nyko Xbox One/PS4 controller chargers are not exactly a novelty, but the users of these next-gen gaming consoles can now rejoice, as the charging stations made by Nyko will soon be available in stylish white.

As good as the Xbox One and the PS4 may look, there’s still room for a lot of design and functionality improvements. Most of the time, such changes are achieved with aftermarket products such as the recently launched white version of the PlayStation4 DualShock 4 controller charging station, which is a GameStop-exclusive. Apparently, Nyko has made quite a name for itself by creating some high-quality Xbox One and PS4 controller chargers, so the latest addition to its collection can only be regarded as a good thing by gamers.

In the past, using wireless controllers with the previous generation of these consoles was optional, and only chosen for short periods of time for increased convenience. Now, Microsoft and Sony designed their products so that the latency between the console and the wireless controller is unnoticeable. This way, wireless controllers became a mainstay, and Nyko took advantage of that.

The Modular Charge Station and DualShock 4 connector made by Nyko in GameStop-eclusive white successfully replace the USB cable that was previously necessary for charging the PS4 controller.

In the case of the Xbox One Wireless Controller, the AA-batteries, which can run out of power pretty quickly, are replaced with Nyko’s proprietary wireless charging kit battery. Regardless of the type of controller that’s used, users are able to charge two of them simultaneously. The indicators will help you tell if the battery is full or not.

All in all, Nyko’s wireless controller charging stations is a very convenient solution for the ones who can afford spending some more after buying an already expensive video gaming console. The competition is fierce in this industry, and similar or maybe even better solutions might be developed in the near future.

Currently available only for the PS4, the white version of the controller charger will undoubtedly be available for Xbox One users in no time, as it would be a shame to make a discrimination between gamers when it comes to console accessories. It will be interesting to see what other accessories are developed for the two consoles.

PlayStation 4 hands-on: DualShock 4 and games (video)

PlayStation 4 handson DualShock 4 and games

This morning, we got our first official hands-on with Sony's brand-new PlayStation 4 -- unveiled last night at E3 2013. Though we got to put our hands on the new DualShock 4 last evening, today we were finally able to play some next-gen games. The first game we played was a new racing game, known as DriveClub, and it uses the PS4 Eye and DualShock 4.

Right when we started, the game took a picture of us using the Eye and it... well it came out kinda blue. The room we're in was very blue, and the image reflected that -- it wasn't the highest quality, and it's a bit of a gimmick, but neat nonetheless. More importantly, when we actually played the game, the DualShock 4 felt great. It's light, responsive, and comfortable -- the new thumbsticks with convex tops cradle your thumbs, and the triggers easily hold your pointer fingers. As for the face buttons, things are nigh identical with previous DualShock iterations. The standard ex / triangle / circle / square combo remains, and looks just about the same as on the DualShock 3. Though the touchpad didn't have any in-game effect in DriveClub, the pad is easily clickable and not too far from your thumbs to quickly jump from face buttons to it.
