Quakecon’s Steam sale offers steep discounts on ‘Doom’ and ‘Wolfenstein’

QuakeCon is right around the corner, and Bethesda is determined to capitalize on the wave of good vibe for id Software's gaming legacy -- including, we'd add, the looming 25th anniversary of Doom II. To that end, it's launching a QuakeCon sale on Ste...

Elon Musk: ‘The Simulation, The Simulation, The Simulation’

A young woman wanted to know how much she needed to beg to take a selfie with him. A young man wanted to know if he could get his CyberPunk 2077 hat autographed. These are the kind of questions people were asking Elon Musk, the founder and CEO of Tes...

Fallout 4 Super Sledge Replica for Super Smashing Cosplay

Fallout 4 was the high point for the franchise, and it put some very cool weapons at your disposal. One of the stranger instruments of destruction in the game was the Super Sledge. This was a big sledgehammer with a rocket motor on the back.

The sole purpose of that Super Sledge was to smash the shite out of enemies in the game. This officially-licensed reproduction is a 1:1 version of the weapon from the game. Measuring in at 41″ long, it’s perfect for cosplayers.

Construction is from injection molded plastic. That means no actual super smashing things, or you will break it more likely than the object of your destruction. ThinkGeek will sell you a Super Sledge for $79.99, but the display stand shown is not included.

Fallout 4 Shower Curtain Makes Showering S.P.E.C.I.A.L.

There are not many ways currently that you can take Fallout 4 into the shower with you. And it’s probably better that you don’t electrocute yourself by having your game console in the shower anyway. Just take a break already! Anyway, this Fallout 4 shower curtain is the next best thing. Admit it, you need this in your vault bathroom like now!

This 70″ square shower curtain is based on Bethesda’s full perk poster. It’s also based on the fact that you don’t want water all over your bathroom floor and shower curtains help with that problem. Now when you are lathering up and getting squeaky clean, you can also look at this and think about which perks you want to go for. So now you will be clean and prepared to level up your character. Hopefully, you haven’t been playing so much that you smell like a Super Mutant.

This is going to look great in any nerd’s bathroom. It’s just too bad they don’t make other Fallout 4 stuff to go with it. I need some Rad-X and a bobblehead or two for my medicine cabinet. A Brahmin skull might be nice for the wall too. Grab yours from ThinkGeek for $24.99 today.

Fallout 4 T-60 Power Armor Action Figure Turns Wallets into Wastelands

You haven’t really lived in Fallout 4 until you find yourself some Fusion Cores and some working T-60 power armor. With those items you are ready to stand toe-to-toe with the worst mutants and other enemies in the wasteland. Fallout fans will definitely want to check out this awesome action figure that showcases this impressive armor.

This 14.5-inch tall, 1/6 scale T-60 power armor action figure is impressively detailed. It is poseable with 35 points of articulation. The outer power armor pieces come off to show you the endoskeleton underneath.

The helmet glows with LED lighting and the suit is a perfect recreation of the one in the game. It also comes with a female head and an assault rifle with removable magazine and scope. It will set you back $379.99 at ThinkGeek. I’m not sure what that works out to in bottle caps.

Fallout 4 Free Weekend Lets Everyone Hate Preston Garvey

Bethesda has announced that during the holiday weekend anyone can play the awesome Fallout 4 video game for free. If you haven’t played the game, this is your chance to want Preston Garvey dead along with the rest of us.

The game is free to play on Steam now through May 28. If you are an Xbox Live Gold member, you can play for free until May 29. During the free period gamers get access to all base content and mods.

If you love the game (and I bet you will) you can buy it for just $19.79 with the DLC season pass for another $30. It seems PS4 gamers aren’t getting the free weekend, but can buy the game for the same prices.

Fallout 4 Tesla Rifle Replica Is Truly Electric

I’m a big fan of Fallout 4 and have spent many hours playing the game. One of the weapons you might recognize from the game is this Tesla Rifle. This replica was made by and was made by Wasted Props, and looks like someone stepped right out of the game with it.

The weapon even spins and charges like it does in the game before it fires. In the center of the spinning bit is one of those Sharper Image plasma balls I used to want so bad back in the ’80s. The rifle is over 40-inches long and looks to be very well made.

Unlike many of the cool replicas we see, there are lots of videos of what exactly it took to build this thing:

So I have EMF issues with the plasma ball triggering the motor, as the wires run past the plasma ball to the arduino. When the ball is off it works fine. Shielding come at me bro!!!

Finally got to do a proper test with the plasma ball on the tesla rifle. Just need to mount up a motor to drive the rotor.

#progress !!! Used a different #speed #controller tonight and a #conservative #tune. This is looking to be the right setup for what I'm looking for. A little more #tweaking and that will do the trick.

Amazing build!

Fallout 4 Zetans Puzzle is 550 Pieces of Alien Frustration

Of all the things in Fallout 4 that I want to know more about is the Zetan that I killed for his weapon. I want to know more about this nasty alien species and their awesome hand guns. In fact, I hope Fallout 5 is all about the Zetans – maybe they crawl the Earth and I can steal a flying saucer from them and finally kill Preston Garvey.

This puzzle celebrates the Zetans and looks like the cover of Astoundingly Awesome Tales #4 from the game. The puzzle has 550 pieces, and measures 18″ x 24″ once you get it put together. It’s mostly black, and looks pretty frustrating to me

If you’re ready to take on this Zetan, you can get yours at ThinkGeek for $9.99.

Dogmeat Plush Won’t Step in Front of Your Minigun

I never liked going on adventures with Dogmeat in Fallout 4. I tried it but he always seemed to step in front of me when I was shooting the crap out of something and I would accidentally shoot him. Once I had stealth armor later in the game, he wasn’t sneaky enough so I just went it alone into the wasteland.

If you really dig Dogmeat, you can get this plush version of the fuzzy guy for your collection. The stuffed animal is 8-inches tall, and he comes with one red bandana around his neck and two surprise bandanas inside the box.

These surprise bandanas could be blue paisley, stars & stripes, leopard, camouflage, or even Jangles the Moon Monkey. The Dogmeat plush sells for $14.99(USD) and is available now at ThinkGeek.
