This bottle is your ultimate all-in-one kitchen tool!

While it occupies the exact footprint of a wine bottle on your kitchen shelf, the Bin 8 is actually pretty much all the kitchen accessories you need, combined into one ‘Swiss Army Bottle’ of sorts. A prime example of utilitarian, artistic, and thoughtful Japanese design, the Bin 8 is a combination of eight kitchen tools stacked one upon the other, made to look like a wine bottle. The bottle’s spout acts as a funnel, and its base, a measuring cup. Sitting in between these two are a citrus juicer, a spice grater, cheese grater, yolk separater, egg masher, and a jar-opening silicone ring.

Stacked together, the Bin 8 occupies much less space than each of those items would individually, and does so with a certain flair that you’d probably use the words “innovative” and “brilliant” to describe. I know I would!

Broom broom pow!

funnel_broom_1

Every Indian child is familiar with being woken up and pushed out of bed because the maid wants to do her monthly ceiling cleaning in the morning. Cobwebs gather in the crevices, and come fluttering down when dusted. Now I’m staring at a solution so obvious, I wonder what exactly these broom-makers were up to all these years!

The Funnel Broom is literally the simplest thing. You’ve got your broom, and a funnel below it. Sweep them cobwebs, catch them cobwebs, and most importantly, dont wake them children up at 7 in the morning on a Sunday!

The Funnel Broom (as no surprise!) is the recipient of the famed the Red dot Best of the Best Award for the year 2015.

Square Is Better

The Square Funnel is a redesign of the typical kitchen aid that is used to transfer and pour liquids in a small-mouthed bottle. A research done by the designers showed that round funnels took a longer time to drain the liquid. The square funnel increases the speed of the liquid draining into the bottle considerably and it prevents an overspill too. In layman’s terms, the physics involved allows the quadrate funnel to control the inequalities in the change of air pressure inside and outside the bottle; thus enabling a swift transfer of liquids.

Square Funnel is a 2012 red dot award: design concept winner.
