Hallmark’s Keepsake 2021 Millennium Falcon Christmas Ornament

Because nothing quite says Christmas like Star Wars (back me up, 1978 Star Wars Holiday Special!), Hallmark is releasing this 2021 Keepsake Ornament of the Millennium Falcon (affiliate link). The metal ship measures 3.78″ wide, 1.4″ tall, 5.22″ long, and features a shiny silver finish. And with all the Mandalorian ornaments I’ve already purchased this year, I could probably decorate an entire Christmas tree with a Star Wars theme.

The ornament was designed by Hallmark artist Robert Hurlburt. However, I’m fairly certain the Corellian Engineering Corporation deserves most of the credit for building the YT-1300f light freighter the Millennium Falcon was modded from in the first place. Star Wars joke!

My wife and I have an entire box of Hallmark Keepsake ornaments commemorating different special occasions and anniversaries throughout the years. Or, I should say, we had an entire box of Hallmark Keepsake ornaments before I accidentally donated them all to Goodwill after mistaking the box for our old dinnerware. Obviously, I sadly expect my Christmas list to go largely unanswered this year.

Firefly Christmas Ornament Makes it Shiny

Joss Whedon’s Firefly was one of those iconic TV shows that fans love, and are still angry about its cancellation today. If you are a Firefly fan, Hallmark has a sweet Serenity ornament you’ll want to hang on your tree this year.

The light-up keepsake ornament is made from plastic, and looks just like the ship on the series. While the TV ship weighed in at over 285,000 pounds and measured 270 feet long, the ornament is light enough to hang on your tree, and measures 5.3 inches long.

It comes in a special box if you want to give it as a gift. Just be sure you give it early enough that it can be put on the tree this year. The Firefly Serenity ornament is available now and you can grab one at ThinkGeek for $29.99.

HAL 9000 Christmas Ornament – 2001: A Spruce Odyssey

Aside from the neat glowing eye, this miniature HAL 9000 also plays some memorable audio clips from 2001, but we don’t know what those are yet. Hopefully, he sings “Daisy Bell” nice and slow like in the movie. Sure, he’s an evil computer, but that’s only because he was malfunctioning and possibly under orders from an alien intelligence, but he’s actually a nice guy who loves Christmas and wouldn’t hurt a soul. I think. I hope so.

The ornament will be available starting October 6 for $20. It makes you wonder what else Hallmark has in store for us this year. Hopefully, they’ll make the ship too, because I’d love to hang that on my tree right next to this one. Keep them coming, greeting card guys.

2001: A Space Odyssey Plush Dave Bowman: My God It’s Full of Stuffing

Can you believe that it’s been 50 years since the science fiction film 2001: A Space Odyssey premiered in theaters? It’s a far more esoteric movie than Star Trek or Star Wars, which is probably why there isn’t much in the way of merchandise to collect.

So it’s nice whenever they drop anything 2001 related that we can buy. Hallmark has come up with an adorable collectible in the form of Dave Bowman’s character. A Dave Bowman plush toy. Open the pod bay doors to cuteness, HAL.

Hallmark’s cute little version of Dave Bowman is wearing his Discovery One red spacesuit and ready to float around space to the tune of Blue Danube. This plush will stand for some time as the cutest 2001 collectible in existence. I can’t see anything topping it. Good move Hallmark, now just give us a squishy monolith and that shuttle with the grabbing claws.

It will cost you only $8, but you won’t find them in Hallmark stores at your local mall. Instead, you will need to hit up the Hallmark website. This is a limited edition, but the company doesn’t tell us exactly how many they’ll make. 2001, perhaps?
