McDonald’s Korea just launched a limited-edition Big Mac-inspired stackable lunchbox!

If you think about it, a burger is a stackable product too… so it wasn’t going to be long before someone drew the parallel and made a burger-shaped stackable tiffin box!

It seems like that brainwave came to McDonald’s Korea, which just unveiled the limited-edition lunchbox inspired by their iconic burger. The lunchbox comes with vertically stackable containers, celebrating the traditional Korean ‘dosirak’, a portioned lunchbox quite similar to the Japanese bento box. Its circular, vertically stackable shape allows it to perfectly mirror the stackable design of a burger, with orange containers with artwork on the side resembling patties leaves, and sauces, while the lid on top comes with a sesame seed pattern to complete the visual experience!

The lunchbox sports two containers that lock together using clasps, with a sesame-bun cover on the top and two fold-out handles to carry the box around. The two containers have separate lids of their own too, helping retain heat while ensuring that liquids or gravies don’t leak out during transit.

For a limited time, Korean patrons of the global fast-food giant can get their hands on this quirky lunchbox for ₩7,500 KRW (approximately $7 USD) upon purchase of a Big Mac or a Big Mac Bacon. I’m lovin’ it!

Brick Burgers Have LEGO Buns

Brick Burger may have the best hamburger ever. This place is a LEGO-inspired burger restaurant based in the Philippines. Guess what that means? It means I just ordered a plane ticket to Manila. One way.

The interior of the restaurant is all decked out in a LEGO theme and those burgers? The buns look like LEGO blocks. Sadly, they don’t stack, but that’s okay. Also sadly, these burgers aren’t served by humans dressed as minifigs. You can’t have everything.

They come in a variety of flavors and colors. I bet they have the buns all tossed in a bin in the back, just like how many of us store our own LEGO bricks. Except if they step on one of these, it’s no big deal.

McDonald’s Testing a Big Mac “ATM”

What the!? ATMs are for money. Now they’re for burgers? Yep, now you can go to the ATM and get some money, then go to another ATM and get a Big Mac. The circle is now complete. In this case, ATM must stand for Artery Terrorizing Machine.

Image via @BostonTweet

Yes, this is real. On January 31st, hungry people in Boston will have the opportunity to order McDonald’s Big Macs from a vending machine like this one. You can select from a Big Mac, a Mac Jr, or a Grand Mac. Obviously if it does well, you’ll eventually see these all over the place, in and out of McDonald’s.

It won’t be long until you be able to get fries, shakes, Happy Meals, Filet ‘O Fishes, Egg McMuffins, and everything else from an Mickey D’s ATM. But is it still McDonald’s if the food isn’t served by a pimply faced college kid?

Japanese Hamburger Ditches the Bun for More Meat

For the most part I don’t like people. I love the wife and kids even though I want to choke them out every now and again, but the other people in my life I can pretty much live without. That means the only thing I really miss from Texas now that I live in Colorado are the fast food burgers – specifically Whataburger. I am here to tell you that Culver’s is NOT the same.

In Japan they take their burgers seriously too, though often they have weirdly colored buns or strange toppings on them. This burger doesn’t need no stinkin’ buns and just uses meat instead. That means you have what appears to be an egg, cheese, and other stuff slammed between a big stack of juicy patties.

You can even get meat with your meat (I should toss in an Xzibit meme). I’d totally eat this (minus the egg), though it does looks like Japan likes to skimp on fries. The burger is called the Wild Out and you can get it at Shake Tree in Tokyo for 1450 yen, or about $12(USD). That’s not much different than what I used to spend at Whataburger.

Pokémon Hamburgers Land in Sydney: Junk Food, I Choose YOU!

I am a huge fan of hamburgers. I also recently moved to Colorado from Texas, and Colorado isn’t a Whataburger state. I’m sad about that, but I can now walk from Walmart to the car without having heat stroke so there’s that. I’m not sure these Pokémon burgers would match up with a bacon and cheese Whataburger, but I’d sure like to find out.

These amusing burgers are being offered at the Sir John Young Hotel in Sydney, Australia. They are available at a HashtagBurgers Pokéburger popup store in the hotel. The red burger is Charmander and I will assume it is spicy. I see some Doritos, bacon, and lots of cheese on it.

THIS IS NOT A DRILL! Ever wondered what a Pikachu tastes like? Us neither but considering we can't catch one to save our lives, were more than happy to let this be as close as we get to having our very own. @hashtag_burgers have just announced that after weeks of experimenting, they will be releasing a limited release of Pokemon burgers at their @downnout_ popup as this weeks special… and they taste every bit as good as we've come to expect from these lads. The Charmander, with its red American cheese and Doritos, is our favourite but they'll all blow you away. Plus they're freakin' adorable! Head to the @downnout_ page for deets and we will see you in line. Gotta catch 'em all! #pokemongo #sydneyfood #fbas

The green burger is Squirtle and has broccoli on its head, not something I normally want with my burgers. The Pikachu burger has fries on it and burnt chips for ears. I want to eat them all.

The Impossible Burger is a lab-made meatless treat for carnivores

Every October two vegetarian friends of mine from Michigan spend a week at my place while they attend New York Comic Con. Because I take my hosting duties very seriously, I always try to find good places for them to eat here in New York. It's not too...
