A Patternless Glow-in-the Dark Jigsaw Puzzle For Driving Yourself Crazy

Want to go insane? Well, you’re in luck, because Japanese puzzle manufacturer Beverly has released this glow-in-the-dark Jigsaw Puzzle from Hell. Available from the Japan Trends shop for $42, it’s a 150-piece imageless jigsaw puzzle with phosphorescent pieces that glow in the dark. I can already imagine myself eating a handful of pieces in a fit of madness.

You may recall Beverly’s previous posted all white and all black jigsaw puzzles, but those were 1,000 and 2,000 pieces. At least this one is only 150 pieces. Sounds like a piece of cake by comparison. Still, not a piece of cake I’d want to eat. I know that sounds blasphemous, but I mean it.

I typically do jigsaw puzzles as a nice way to relax, not stress out and yell at myself for buying a patternless glow-in-the-dark jigsaw puzzle in the first place. What was I thinking? Not about my mental health, that’s for sure. That said, I did remove two pieces and regift the puzzle to a family member.

LEGO Rainbow Bricks Is a Colorful 1,000-Piece Jigsaw Puzzle

Want to assemble LEGO bricks even when you aren’t assembling actual LEGO bricks? Well, you’re in luck, thanks to this 1,000-piece Rainbow Bricks jigsaw puzzle from LEGO and Chronicle Books. The 25″ x 20″ puzzle costs $18 on Amazon (affiliate link) and features a gradient of classic 2 x 4 LEGO bricks. Will my dogs jump up on the table and eat some pieces before I finish the puzzle? They never haven’t.

Obviously, if you have to step on a LEGO piece, these are the sort you’d hope for and not the real plastic ones. My toes curl in pain just thinking about it. I’d rather walk on hot coals.

My record for completing a 1,000-piece jigsaw puzzle solo is a single day. I recently started one of a 50’s diner scene at lunch on a Thursday and was finished by dinner Friday. I’m not trying to brag, I’m just insisting you should all address me the Puzzle King from now on.

Chinese Take-Out Jigsaw Puzzle: Where’s My Fortune Cookie?

Tired of jigsaw puzzles featuring scenic landscapes? I swear, if I have to assemble one more beautiful mountain range at sunrise… Well for those looking for something a little different for their next jigsaw puzzle, how about this two-sided Chinese Takeaway Jigsaw Puzzle from Fizz Creations? The 250-piece puzzle is the shape and image of a Chinese takeout container on one side, and the same shape but all noodles on the other. Great, now I’m hungry.

The puzzle has one glossy side and one matte side to make it easy to distinguish between the two puzzles, which I feel is unnecessary for a puzzle that only has 250 pieces, to begin with. Just make sure to burn a Chinese Takeout scented candle while you’re assembling it for a more immersive experience.

I don’t know about you, but I’ve attempted a lot of jigsaw puzzles during quarantine. My most recent was a 1,500 piece view of Santorini, Italy at dusk. It proved to be difficult. So difficult that I told my wife I didn’t want to finish it since I saw the dogs eat a few pieces and it could never truly be completed, even though it was me who ate those pieces and I hope she never reads this.

This 1000 Piece Color-changing Jigsaw Puzzle Will Drive You Crazy

This unique jigsaw puzzle is not for those who get frustrated with ordinary puzzles. Designed by artist Clemens Habicht, the 1000-piece Changing Colors jigsaw puzzle is printed with a lenticular lens to create an eye-catching iridescent sheen.

So not only does the puzzle have lots of areas of similar colors, they constantly vary depending on the viewing angle and lighting conditions. As evil as the concept sounds, it may not be as difficult as it seems.

According to one Redditor who finished the puzzle, “In case anyone is curious, it was definitely challenging but two things made it doable: first, the holo effect is made using lenticular imaging, which uses parallel tiny tubular lenses for lack of a better word so that you see the different colors at different angles, and that gives the entire surface a consistent grain which I could use to orient the pieces. Secondly, every piece was two colors, and along a gradient, so I could sort by the color pairs and find all the green/magenta pieces and separate them from the green/red or blue/yellow, etc. I do not recommend gifting this to anyone who is colorblind unless they’ve wronged you in some extreme manner.”

Cue everyone lining up to buy this for their colorblind friends. You can pre-order this challenging and colorful puzzle from Lamington Drive for $100.

These Solid White and Black Jigsaw Puzzles are Pure Hell

Do you like to put together jigsaw puzzles? So do I. But I’m not sure I’d have fun assembling these daunting puzzles from Japan, which are made up entirely of a single color.

Every single piece in these puzzles is the same exact color – either white or black. To add to the difficulty, each piece is substantially smaller than a standard puzzle piece, so unless you’ve got tiny fingers, you might need to get out the tweezers to assemble them.

If you’re up for the challenge, or just want to make a friend deal with it, you can grab these in 1000- or 2000-piece sizes over on Amazon. The Black version is only available as a 1000-piece set though.

Wait! That’s not just any old white image up top – it’s a polar bear standing in a field during a blizzard! And this one is a black bear standing in the middle of downtown Manhattan during a power outage.

Star Trek 50th Anniversary Puzzle Has 3000 Pieces of Frustration

Growing up, my grandfather was a big fan of jigsaw puzzles, and always had one out on the table that he was working on. Once he finished them, he would glue the pieces together and hang them on the wall. I never had the patience for puzzles, especially the complicated ones that had huge amounts of tiny pieces.

I’d go insane trying to work on this 35″ x 45″ 50th anniversary Star Trek puzzle with 3,000 pieces. Artist Dusty Abell says the image includes at least one character, entity, starship, or structure from every episode of the original series, and if you don’t believe him – here’s the key.

You can order your frustration up from ThinkGeek for $29.99(USD). Be sure and glue it together and hang it on the wall once you’re done so you can remember that frustration forever. Or, you could skip all that hard work, and grab the ready-to-frame poster version directly from the artist’s website for $60.
