Kuvée Smart Wine Bottle Keeps Wine Fresh for a Month

I’m not a drinker, I have poor impulse control as it is. There are plenty of folks out there that like a glass or two every night, but wine goes bad once you open it. If you like to have a glass here and there and don’t want to pour wine you don’t finish, Kuvée might be for you.

This thing is a fancy wine bottle that consists of two parts. The black larger bottle slips over the top of a silver aluminum container which holds your wine. The outer bottle has a LCD, temperature sensor, rechargeable battery, and other tech inside. It opens the inner bottle and lets you pour the wine out while keeping it fresh for up to 30 days. You can also view information about the wine, check remaining life, number of glasses left, and order more wine directly from the Kuvee using its touchscreen.

The catch is you will need to buy wines packaged in the fancy aluminum bottles for the system to work, sort of like Keurig coffee capsules. Also, you may have to wait a while to receive yours, as each state has different rules on direct-to-consumer wine shipments. It’s too bad they couldn’t make it work with off-the-shelf wine bottles.

The system is being funded via Indiegogo, and has already exceeded its goal. A pledge of $199(USD) gets you the Kuvée smart bottle and four 750ml bottles of wine.
