When a Jet Engine and an Air Purifier Collide!

With a design that has been heavily inspired by the distinctive form of a jet engine, the Air Jet S is certainly an air purifier that we can get behind! Carrying a design that focuses on the simplicity of use and the user experience, this compact purifier, with a capacity of 13m2, makes for the perfect addition to any small abode!

The small exterior conceals a rather clever internal structure; both the filter and the fan exit from the top of the device, the power is automatically cut when removed, this allows for quick and easy replacement or cleaning of the all-important air filter! Following the popular trend that sees an absence of physical buttons, Air Jet S is controlled through an intuitive smartphone app, allowing for remote control of the smart device!

All of this is wrapped up within a stunningly simplistic design that sure makes this device a desirable one!

Designer: Kwanjun Ryu for BRUNT

The shape of the Air Jet S was inspired by the jet engine to emphasize a strong wind. Small air purifier with a capacity of 13 m² can be used on the desk or near the bed.

The structure of the Air Jet S is simple. Both filter and fan part are separated upward. When you open the cap, you will get a handle to separate the fan. When you remove fan part, the power automatically turns off. After the filter separated, it can be wiped or replaced to new one.

Air Jet S can, of course, measure indoor air quality. It also shows outdoor air quality via Wi-Fi. You can experience the performance of the Air Jet S by comparing indoor and outdoor air quality.

The fan part of the Air Jet S is designed to be safe. If the fan is removed during operation, the fan returns for a few seconds due to inertia. However, safety bridges at the bottom prevent accidents. Safety bridges are designed to be round to minimize wind resistance.

When you remove and assemble the fan part, you can supply power without a cable connection. The magnet built-in pogo pin make it possible to assembl each parts very easily and surely.

Small but efficient. The Air Jet S consists of 11 injection parts and two PCBs. The BLDC motor operates at 2100 rpm and has very little noise. Equipped with a top quality air sensor, it can measure more precise air quality and at the same time operate the air purifier correctly.

Air Jet S has invested heavily in molds to maintain perfect shape in all directions. With 8 slide core molds, the shadow of the hole can be seen perfectly.

The Future of Inner-City Travel?

Could automated Taxis be the mode of transport of the future?! Well, designer Kwanjun Ryu certainly thinks so as he set out to design a vehicle fit for a futuristic city, this resulted in the creation of Voy, an electric and fully-autonomous Taxi!

Visually, there is no denying the futuristic styling that Voy carries, the sharp surface transitions paired with the flowing lines create a form that’s fit for the future, while its compact dimensions and large, conceptual wheels allow for the vehicle to be approachable as they introduce an element of cuteness to the vehicle.

Voy will cater to all of your inner-city transporting need; a quick call will have it pick you up and take you wherever you desire to go… and in complete comfort. Much like the exterior, the interior carries a visually striking form; ample leg room and large seats provide comfort, whilst the material choice and vast amount of glass creates a light and airy tone. We definitely wouldn’t complain about having to travel in one of these!

A Minimal Approach to the Wireless Charger

brunt_wireless_charger_layout

This family of wireless chargers has away with the harsh and clinical aesthetic that’s commonly found on traditional electronic devices, and instead incorporates a welcomed element of plushness and warmth into the device.

Each of the products within the family features the same identifiable design language; rounded corners, matte monochromatic finishes and subtle design elements are carried through from one product to the next, to create a family or alluring desk accessories!

The introduction of fabric into the design is a subtle, yet effective, method of bringing warmth to the product while also allowing it to subtly blend in with the rest of the furnishings within the room. Making up the family is the charging pad and a series of Valet Trays which are available in a range of heights; so now your phone can be charging while you admire your newly organized workspace!

The Wheelchair Has Been Stylishly Re-Invented

modelf_electric_wheelchair_01

For some individuals, a wheelchair is their primary mode of transportation, and as well as enabling them to get from point A to point B, it introduces an unparalleled element of freedom into their lives. But current electronic wheelchairs do bring with them a series of downfalls, their bulky, cumbersome size and the undesirable aesthetic being two of the main ones. Kwanjun Ryu set out to create a solution to these issues, and the solution came in the form of the Model F.

The Model F is like no other. It carries an aesthetic that puts all other electric wheelchairs to shame, from its organic curves that flow elegantly, to the futuristic Omni wheels that give it a strong presence. Its sleek, attention-stealing aesthetics are also immensely practical, elevating its day-to-day usability greatly; in just a few simple steps the robust wheelchair smoothly transforms into a transportable, aircraft-friendly, compact package that is a far more practical alternative to the conventional wheelchair.

Dock Stock and two smoking gadgets!

samsung_dex_book_1

So. Samsung’s pretty innovative, but doesn’t get enough credit for it. Samsung managed to crack facial recognition first, it even managed to pull off mass-produced edge-to-edge displays long before the Essential phone or the iPhone X… So, looking at the Dex Book concept, I wouldn’t be surprised seeing the words Samsung written on it.

The Dex Book attempts to do the phone-docking-into-laptop trick. The laptop itself is devoid of a number pad to make space for the phone, and even does away with a track pad at the bottom. The phone docks into the empty space where the number pad would be and the two gadgets immediately pair up. The phone then becomes a track-pad and secondary screen for the laptop, while the laptop itself becomes an extension of the phone, allowing you to use your smartphone as a full fledged workstation!

A Speaker with a Surprise

atelier_01

“Atelier” is a hybrid entertainment system that marries high end audio and television into one elegant unit. According to designer Kwanjun Ryu, it’s first and foremost a speaker to appeal to younger generations less concerned with TV.

Created to rest close to the floor, it’s capable of delivering multidirectional, high-def sound that will envelope the user in their favorite tunes or talk radio. With the press of a button, a 32″ screen automatically raises to reveal a full HD color screen. This means, when it’s not in TV mode there’s no blank, black box cramping your room’s style! The removable fabric front and back can be custom colored as easily as picking a Pantone paint chip. Simply swap them out as your look grows and changes!

“It slowly goes up with spiral spring structure. Display is only visible when it used. Click once to turn on the TV, and TV will turned off when you click it again,” Designer Kwanjun Ryu told YD.

“TV’s back side needs to look neat, because it no longer exist in front of the wall. Atelier has perfect symmetry form. You can feel beautiful shape in any direction.”

Easy Pour Purifier

ekettle_cover

Inspired by stove-top kettles and their perfect pour, this redesign of the water purifier by Kwanjun Ryu makes it easier to aim and handle than other bottom-heavy, imbalanced designs. Its bottom reservoir moves water to the top section. This lightweight, balanced top section can then be completely detached for a more controlled and safer pour. Customize it to your taste with magnetically attached nylon covers of all different colors!

Say NO to Noise Cancellation!

focus_headphones_1

Until Pokemon Go absorbed every ounce of our attention, headphones were a pretty large cause for keeping us distracted and disconnected from the outer world.. often putting us in danger. To be brutally honest, I haven’t been particularly careful myself… I need to plug in earphones while I walk back from work, and that isn’t really the safest on the road. ‘Focus’ is a pair of earphones that allow you to hear external sounds WITH your music when you want. Just unplug the valve on the outer face of the earpieces to allow outside sound to filter through when you want/need. When you want to be engrossed in your world of music, press the valve in and it seals off all outer sounds, so you can use the Focus like a normal set of earphones. Now you can have your music and still be aware of your surroundings!

The Pixar Fan!

branch_table_fan_1

The Branch fan is quite functionally superior, but I’m mainly intrigued by how cute it looks. Reimagined to look more like a lamp (Luxo from Pixar) with a very Wall-E vibe, the fan actually has swivel joints that allow you to point it wherever you fancy, much like a table lamp. Even the fan body is shaped to look like a lampshade, plus the grill-ish look reminds me of the cooling vents on LED bulbs. It seems like such a simple idea, right? An adjustable table-fan! If we’ve had lamps like that all along, why not fans?!
