Death Star Ball Bearing Maze: That’s No Moon

Because who hasn’t ever dreamed of participating in the Battle of Yavin (aka the Battle of the Death Star), Paladone has created this Death Star Maze. Sure it’s absolutely nothing like flying an X-wing and battling the Galactic Empire but use your imagination. A lot of it. Use every last bit of your imagination, and then some.

Available from Entertainment Earth, the $17 maze consists of the upper half of a Death Star with a transparent outer shell and plastic labyrinth inside and a small ball bearing to guide towards the super laser in a full 360-degrees of getting lost and frustrated. Or, if you’re really using your imagination, as I suggested, you can pretend the ball bearing is an ion torpedo, and you’re trying to guide it through a thermal exhaust port leading to the reactor core. I’ll even call you Luke Skywalker if it helps in this little fantasy of yours.

Tried solving the maze but struggling to finish? No problem, do you own a hammer? When all else fails, smack it with a hammer – that’s one of my mottos. Along with ‘You can never have enough duct tape,’ and ‘Honey, have you seen the Band-Aids?’

Labyrinth ‘Ello Worm Plush Slippers Keep Feet Weirdly Warm

Look at these slippers, they are creepy, cool, and weirdly ’80s. They are modeled after the ‘Ello worm from Labyrinth, Jim Henson’s classic 1980s fantasy. It seems like everytime I turn around there is some Labyrinth oddity out there. It’s like they’re getting ready for a re-release, or god forbid, a reboot.

Henson was ahead of his time with the blue hair thing, you can’t even go to the elementary school around here without running into a kid with blue streaks in their hair.

The slippers are one-size-fits-all up to men’s size 12, and their soles are covered in those dots to keep you from slipping and cracking your butt off. Go that way, and head over to ThinkGeek to grab a pair for $54.99(USD).

Labyrinth Vinyl LP Pays Tribute to Henson and Bowie

Jim Henson released the weird and cool movie Labyrinth back in 1986, and while it wasn’t a huge hit back in the day, it’s gone on to become a classic. Beyond the cool puppetry, one of the most notable things about the flick was David Bowie played the bad guy Goblin King.

The soundtrack included several songs by Bowie, along with music by composer Trevor Jones. However, the soundtrack went out of production shortly after the film was released.

ThinkGeek has your back if you want some of those quirky ’80s tracks with a remastered version. The artwork on the sleeve is replicated from the original, and features has 12 original tracks, including Underground, Chilly Down, As the World Falls Down, Within You, and Magic Dance.

Labyrinth Jareth the Goblin King Action Figure Is Totally ’80s

This one official picture is all we have right now along with a few other details. The action figure is 7-inches tall, he is dressed like he was during the ballroom dream sequence, and comes with a mask and crystal orb accessories. Jareth has 12 points of articulation and comes with a Labyrinth display base.

The figure will sell for $19.99(USD) when it launches this October.

Labyrinth Board Game: Roll Your Dice, Save the Baby

Labyrinth was one of those movies that I thought was creepy when I was young, but I watched it anyway. Puppets are weird. Now you can relive those creepy, weird moments from Jim Henson’s 1986 tour de force in board game form. The goal of the game is simple: save the Sarah’s baby brother from Jareth, the Goblin King.

Up to four players can team up as Sarah, Hoggle, Ludo, or Sir Didymus, and work together to save the tot. If you want, a fifth player can portray Jareth, and play against the team.

The game requires 13 turns – one for each hour you have to rescue the baby – though it only takes about an hour of real time to complete. It plays out on a 2′ x 2′ board, and includes over 30 game tokens, 32 labyrinth cards, six different polyhedral dice, four character sheets, four ability cards, and four weakness cards.

This game looks pretty cool and sells for $49.99(USD) over at ThinkGeek.
