Toilet Paper Dispenser with Matchbox Holder

Lighting a match after you use the bathroom is a measure of courtesy that everyone should be doing (looking at you Steve from accounting, seriously what the heck did you eat for breakfast this week?) So why not have a little slot directly on the toilet paper holder where you can easily store a box of matches in a spot that those who need to use them most (Steve) can’t miss. The Matchbox TP Holder does just that, with a dedicated spot on the top to hold a matchbox. There’s even a little image of a match.

Lighting a match is a way more effective way to cover up any unpleasant bathroom smells than using one of those aerosol sprays which somehow end up combining with the bathroom odors to make some sort of terrible combination smell. So don’t do that (Steve from accounting). Please. Use a match. This tp holder is made of earthenware and can be mounted to the wall with screws or adhered to a tile wall. A useful bathroom accessory everyone can use (especially Steve).

Racing Toy Cars on a Treadmill Looks Like More Fun Than NASCAR

Check out these toy cars racing their hearts out. This race looks pretty intense, but these cars aren’t even technically racing. They are on a treadmill, and the belt is moving, not the cars. Still, if you look at the footage in Diego Jesus Asim’s treadmill racing videos for a little while it almost looks like a real race with the ground moving by fast underneath them.

In order to keep them from flying off, he attached the cars to the front of the treadmill using clear tape. What’s cool is that there’s plenty of side-to-side action as they battle for position. This scene would look very real if they filmed it just right.

Treadmills? They are for so much more than exercising. Why shed pounds when you can have a kick-ass Hot Wheels or Matchbox car race? I’d rather be fat and happy than sweaty and exhausted anyhow. Am I right? Fine, I’ll go to the gym today.

If you watch the first race through until the end, you’ll be disappointed, because there’s no clear winner. I thought it would be the yellow car, but they are kind of all jumbled together at the end. I think there was a huge crash that got edited out, which sucks, because I would like to see that.

Monsters Meet Vintage Matchboxes

Vintage matchbook art has a unique style all its own, but as cool as it is, we all know that it is lacking something. It needs more monsters! That’s why Austin, Texas illustrator Chet Phillips has created a special series of matchbox art.

This series of vintage matchbox inspired illustrations feature a variety of monsters from movies and mythology. I don’t know about you, but I only trust Cthulhu Safety matches for all of my fire needs.

If you like what you see (and why wouldn’t you?), you can get signed prints from Chet’s Etsy store. Or T-shirts from TeePublic. Too bad we can’t get them on actual matchboxes.

Kokeshi Matches Have Faces on Them

face matches Kokeshi Matches Have Faces on Them
Check out these really unique matches from Japan’s Kokeshi. They have little faces right on the match head. They’re almost so cute that you don’t even want to light them up. Ok, go ahead and light that panda up you sadistic bastard. Each set of matches has matching characters drawn on the matchbox or matchbook. They should make numbered ones so you know how many matches you have left. (via that should be mine)
