MegaBots 2-Story Mech Goes up for Sale on eBay

Do you have a neighbor who likes to steal the parking space in front of your house? Well, have I got the ultimate deterrent for you! All you need is a gigantic, car-crushing mech to stand guard on your front lawn, and they’re sure to stay away.

Yes, if you’ve got the money and the space, you could soon be the owner of this giant, bad-ass mech that recently went up for sale on eBay.

Originally built for the MegaBots battle between the U.S. and Japan – at a cost of nearly $2.5 million – this massive beast could be yours if the price is right. The listing describes the machine as a “15-Ton 2-Story Tall Gasoline Powered Car-Smashing Piloted Giant Battle Robot,” in case that wasn’t obvious from the photos.

The robot, known as Eagle Prime is up for sale because MegaBots has sadly gone bankrupt. It’s powered by the engine from a Corvette, and is fully functional. The auction includes a container full of spare parts, as well as a variety of destructive attachments for its arms, and all of the original CAD plans for the robot. According to the sale video, it will need some maintenance to keep it in good fighting shape, so if you plan on using it to crush cars yourself, it’ll need some care and feeding.

As of this writing, the bids are up to about $50,000, but it’s sure to go up from there. I’d imagine the shipping charges alone will be a serious bite in the wallet. If you’re interested in tossing your hat into the ring, check out the auction listing page.
