Why Dating Chat Rooms Have Never Went Away

Is the chat room scene not dead? It was a staple of the geek lifestyle especially back in the days when we had dial up internet and had to listen to the modem load up. Surely these days with superfast broadband and the world at our fingertips chat rooms especially for dating aren’t that popular?

Well, chat rooms have never went away. Even though dating apps like Tinder and sites such as Plenty of Fish are highly popular there is still room for chat rooms to find other singles. Dating online can be hard however for many geeks and those fascinated by technology there is a buzzing chat room dating scene that flies under the radar of the traditional online dating methods.

This is why chat rooms such as asian chat room and countless others are still very popular.

You Get Responses Right Away
OK, so you message someone on Tinder. How long do you normally wait for a message back? 30 minutes? 2 hours? A day?
With chat rooms you get a response pretty much immediately. In a chat room everyone is online at the same time. They are interacting with one another and generally set aside a set amount of time to stay in the room. This makes it a lot different than apps and other dating websites where it can be days before you get a reply. Many people don’t even get notifications on their phone when you send a message so it can take a long time for someone to get back to you and by then you have probably moved on.

You Can Speak To A Variety Of People
This is true with dating apps as well however you tend to get a wider selection of people on a dating chat room. In fact, as there are many people in the room at the one time you get a greater sense of diversity as well. You can speak to a whole load of people at once without having to juggle various message groups on your phone.

Even if you get bored of the main chat after a while you can speak to other singles one on one as well as in a private conversation. In fact, a dating chat room gives you the best of both worlds where you can have a group conversation with lots of different people while chatting privately with one person too.

You Don’t Even Need To Leave Home
You can take part in chat rooms from the comfort of your own home as well and for people with social anxiety and difficulty meeting new people in person it can be a great way to get on the dating scene. There are a lot of dating chat rooms out there and you can talk to someone frequently online before you even need to exchange any contact numbers or add them on Facebook.

For a lot of people this is much better than giving out personal information or even meeting someone else face to face. Being shy, anxious or panicky can make dating difficult in the traditional sense however using chat rooms can give you more confidence and allow you to get to know the other person before you even meet them. Many apps and dating sites attract a certain type of outgoing person whereas chat rooms are more suited to geeks and those don’t always come across well in social situations.

Chat Rooms Are Still Popular
Chat rooms definitely have not gone away. They have simply emerged again as a dating subculture that still exists for many people. The key is finding the right one to suit your tastes, needs and personality.
You actually stand a better chance of meeting someone in a dating chat room that you do on any dating apps. You get to speak to a variety of people at once and you are more likely to get a quicker response in addition to having the option to speak privately too.

While chat rooms might not have the same popularity as they once did this is not a bad thing. For geeks and those that don’t want to take part in the more popular methods of dating, chat rooms still offer an important way to meet new people and find a partner online.

Website Lets You ‘Call a Deplorable’… or ‘Call an Elitist’

q-100

The final presidential debate was last night, and while we’re going to refrain from making any commentary about it, we can’t help but be amused by a pair of websites created by former Facebook product manager Alexandre Roche in anticipation for the event. They’re called CallADeplorable.com and CallAnElitist.com, and they work like this: if you’re a Hillary Clinton supporter and feel the desire to have a, uh, levelheaded conversation about the issues with a die-hard Trump supporter, you can visit ‘Call a Deplorable’, enter your phone number and wait until the system matches you up with someone from the other side. The same idea works the other way: if you’re a die-hard Trump supporter, you can visit ‘Call an Elitist’ and wait to be connected with a Hillary supporter. Your actual phone numbers are kept anonymous, just in case you’re matched up with someone interested in doing a little more than having a simple phone conversation. You should know that you might have to wait a while until you’re matched up, because it all depends on demand. Still, if you’re so convinced your candidate is the right choice and can’t figure out why the opposite side just can’t see it your way, you now have a simple way to ask them directly.

Cord cutters realized this a long time ago, and to help you take that plunge, services like SelectTV exist.

New Service Texts Game Of Throne Spoilers To Your Enemies

Screen Shot 2016-06-23 at 7.00.05 AM

Someone piss you off lately? There’s lots of things you can do to get back at them, but none of these more cruel than using Spoiled.io on them. It’s a service that will ruthlessly text the latest Game of Thrones spoilers to your intended victim; you simply have to enter a phone number and pay $0.99. It’s a form of cruelty so raw and and unconscionable that we literally think the folks behind the service have to be possessed by Satan. Or something. Ok, granted, there’s only one episode left this season, so June 26th is kind of your cutoff date. But don’t you think ruining the season finale should make up for that friend bailing on your camping plans last week?

Top 3 Websites Your Business Should Know By Now

google_docs_logo_and_icon

As the old saying goes, “Knowledge is power.” In the world of business, anything that can help you beat the competition is worth knowing. Whether that’s increasing efficiency in file sharing, wanting info on a current domain name, or knowing where to hire the best employees, there are certain websites you should be aware of, and here are the three we believe are the most useful.

Google Docs

You might have heard of a little search engine called Google, but did you know about their convenient file editing program? Google Docs is a cloud-based word processor that allows for individuals to create and edit online documents, spreadsheets, and presentations – all in real time and for free. With all the files saved and stored within Google Drive, Google Docs is perfect for employees working on a project in different locations, and will streamline your workflow in a way not many other programs can.

Whois Domain Lookup

This is more aimed at businesses ready to either buy a domain name or would like to switch names. The Whois domain lookup tool will provide you with public information regarding any currently registered domain. The tool can tell you the company name, address and telephone number of the domain owner. If there any legal issues, or you would like to offer to buy a domain from someone, the Whois domain lookup tool is the best place to start to find the necessary data. There are several companies to go with, but this tool provided by 1&1 is one of the better choices on the web.

Linkedin

LinkedIn is rapidly becoming the go-to social networking platform for businesses and jobseekers alike, in fact, many companies will now headhunt potential employees using the website. As this article on Forbes tells, jobseekers will use relevant keywords in their profiles that will enhance their ranking on Google searches. Furthermore, most provide a link to a professional website or online portfolio that gives companies more insight into their career. 62% of businesses are reported to use LinkedIn, and the site remains the third most used social network in the world. LinkedIn is a must-use platform for your online presence.

Facebook Launches Feature That Limits Past And Future Posts When You Break Up

facebook-breakup-options

So, things didn’t work out. It sucks, but it doesn’t mean you have to go all Scorched Earth and block the poor person from Facebook. But then again, maybe you don’t want them knowing what you’re up to now, and the idea of them still being able to view your past posts makes you uneasy. Well now there’s a simple solution to that, courtesy of Facebook. They’ve launched a feature where you can easily limit past and future posts when you change your status to Single. With just a few button presses, you can quickly decide how much or how little of you your past beau/belle will be able to see. Given Facebook’s spotty past on privacy, it’s nice to see these kinds of features being released.

Looie Lets You Pee In Peace

looie

Nothing is more frustrating than being out, needing to pee, and having nowhere to go. Cops can fine you for public urination, not to mention it’s a little gross to relieve yourself on other people’s property, so we can totally see a place for a service like Looie. It uses a location-aware app as well as a dongle to give you access to the nearest restroom that’s part of its network. Currently about to launch in Tribeca only, the founder guarantees clean facilities every time (going as far as cleaning them himself for now). It’s going to cost you $25 per month for the service, which is money well spent if you’ve found yourself in that unenviable position more often than you’d care to admit. There is no word on expansion outside of Tribeca for now, but we suspect that’s going to be highly dependant on initial demand.

This Restaurant Encourages And Teaches Proper Instagramming Of Your Food

foodography-1

If you’re like any normal North American, you’ve snapped pics of your food and posted them on Instagram. Good on you, although we hope this trend dies soon. Regardless of how we feel about it, it’s interesting to note at least one restaurant is embracing the practice wholeheartedly. Israeli restaurant Catit, in partnership with Carmel Winery, have launched a project called Foodography that provides the restaurant’s patrons with special plates designed for Instagram photography. One plate is called The Limbo, and features a slot for your smartphone on one end, and a curved backdrop on the other. Another plate is called The 360 and has a rotating plate as well as a smartphone slot, to allow you to shoot short video clips. If these accessories are not enough to create the perfect shot, the restaurant occasionally invites top food photographer Dan Perez to teach some workshops on the art. The entire experience costs $155 an hour, and should run through June. Of course you’ll have to add airfare if you’re not, you know, in Israel, although Carmel Winery does have plans to expand the experience to many of its international locations.
