A Watch for Fidgeters!

fidget_smartwatch_layout

We all fidget from time-to-time, whether it’s with the phones in our pockets or by clicking the push button at the end of our pens (the latter of the two really annoys everyone in the general area), we sometimes just can’t help it… we may not even know we are doing it! And that was the reasoning behind the Fidget Smartwatch.

The fidget element has been introduced to the smartwatch through the imperfect outer bezel; by adding a notch on opposing sides combined with the ability to rotate the section, creates a part of the watch that is asking to be fidgeted with! What makes it so great is that, to an unknowing onlooker, the watch doesn’t look too different to a conventional smartwatch; it still incorporates the same features that we have grown to love, and a sleek design has been maintained, making it appropriate for a professional environment! Your Pet Can Travel in True Comfort and Style!

aroma_pet_carrier_layout

For animal lovers, their pet can be their world and their pet’s comfort is quite often a top priority for them. One of the most stressful activities for animals is travelling due to the discomfort that is causes and the separation from their owner. The Aroma Pet Carrier aims to create a calmer environment through the introduction of clean, fresh air.

A ventilation system allows purified, fresh air to be introduced into the carrier, instantly creating a more pleasant environment. This clean air is then infused with the fresh and calming scent that is peppermint; this aroma reduces the nauseating feeling that comes with motion sickness, something that pets are prone to getting. A second aroma also flows into the cabin, the scent of soil; this natural fragrance relaxes the animal and reduces tension.

All of this is contained within a modern and rather elegant design, ensuring that the pet travels in true style!

Le Creuset’s Caffeinated Makeover

le_creuset_coffee_maker_layout

The designers over at PDF Haus just love to do designer + product mashups and, however unlikely, they’re usually pretty awesome. This time around, they’ve applied the time-tested design language of the Le Creuset brand’s heritage line of cookware to an all-new format: the coffee brewer.

Combining age-old brewing methods with modern aesthetics, the brewing system utilizes a handsome mix of wood, glass, and metal components nested into an organized tray from which temperature can be adjusted. The standard coffee pot is replaced with a distinct glass carafe while a stylish stainless steel cone takes the place of a paper filter. Like the legendary Le Creuset series, it’s easy to imagine this would also be one to pass down from generation to generation.

The Best Tablet Accessory Yet

microsoftx_keyboard_cover_layout

Sometimes the touchscreen on your tablet just doesn’t cut it. A Bluetooth keyboard can enhance your work but lugging two separate devices around isn’t ideal either. Designed with this in mind, the Cover Bluetooth Keyboard doubles as a place to safely store your tablet. Simply slide the device into the hollow-bodied shell to keep it secure during transport. Release it with the press of a button and slide it out to automatically pair with your tablet. Then, place it on the slot holder and get to work!

The Walkman, Reimagined

진짜최종제출

The designers at PDF Haus love a throwback! So, for this #ThrowbackThursday, we’re checking out their tribute to the original Sony Walkman. Unlike the one from 1968, it features a solid state drive, digital screen and is about a tenth of the size! Compared to minuscule, modern MP3 players, however, this smartphone-size remake is still a clunker! It features a tactile backside for gripping and oversized control buttons that are easily accessible by the thumb. While its large size might not be for everyone who’s already carrying a smartphone, vintage audiophiles might love it.

A Handy Cam with Super 8 Style

minolta_01

The guys at PDF Haus are pros at breathing new life into old products and this one’s a perfect example. They’ve taken 20th century inspiration from a Super 8 camera (the Minolta XL400) and put a modern spin on it with revamped functionality. Aesthetically it still has the that same simplistic, vintage vibe with a couple of minor enhancements like pure white cladding and ergonomic controls.

Aside from style, its other cool features include a pistol-type handle (that’s now entirely optional) for shooting live action. ISO, IRIS (F), and shutter speed can all be adjusted manually with a simple rotation of an oversized command dial.

The keyboard that charges your devices.

keyboard_x_microsoft_1

It’s funny how Microsoft’s new product design language is plain and simple visible in its logo. Clean geometric shapes, no fluff, no nonsense. If you look at Microsoft’s tablet, keyboard, or even its phones, you’ll see it. Seokmin Jang and PDF Haus cleverly caught on that trend and made what I can only assume is the most visually different and useful keyboard of all time. The All In One Keyboard comes with this unusual design that looks funny first, but makes a world of sense later. Fitting inside its cuboidal frame is a keyboard, a trackpad, and a wireless charging dock (that not only charges the keyboard but even your smartphones).

The keyboard uses capacitve ‘feather’ touch to remain sleek and svelte. A cylindrical member at its bottom positions it at just the correct angle to allow you to type with ease. You can use the trackpad alongside to work even faster. It uses the Microsoft Surface’s stylus, allowing you to attain a level of precision you normally wouldn’t get with your finger on a trackpad. The extra touch is the wireless charging dock, that lets you place your phone on it, and even doubles up as an office tray, allowing you to place stationery in the empty space on the right. In doing so, the All In One Keyboard elevates itself from being just a piece of tech, to being a product that looks at the context of work and office very carefully… which is what all productivity tools should do, right?

Gothic Givenchy Goggles

givenchyvr_01

Virtual reality… how could something so cool look so uncool?! Until now, that is. Introducing, Givenchy VR, also known as Ombré.

Taking on VR would be a foray for any fashion house, but for some reason Givenchy seems to be the brand of choice for designers considering it’s one of a couple of Givenchy VR concepts floating around.

Here, the brand’s signature gothic style is introduced to the goggle. While there’s no word on materials, its chiseled form is distinctly different from existing clunky designs. Instead of looking like you glued a TV remote to your face, you’ll be rocking a ready-to-wear accessory that looks right off the runway.

If Muji made televisions

maison_tv_1

I vividly remember absolutely hating Samsung’s Serif TV. I loved the idea of designing a television to fit into a Scandinavian/Japanese styled home, but as far as the Serif TV’s visual language went, it was an atrocious combination of technology and typography. However, the Maison TV does right by that concept, creating a beautiful albeit block shaped TV that wonderfully fits into a home’s decor, while setting a completely new visual style for its product category.

Absolutely pure in its design language, the Maison TV looks like something Muji would build. The simple white block form with the four detachable legs give the TV a certain elegance which makes the television look like an object fit for a home, rather than a showroom. The thickness of the TV stems from its inclusive design, that has empty spaces in the back for storing streaming boxes, and even for cable management, so that you’re left with a TV that doesn’t have any odd boxes or wires corrupting its beauty. The Maison TV comes with beautiful flush controls on the side, along with a remote that echoes the same style that makes the Maison TV’s design language tick every single box in Rams’ ten commandments of good design!
