Traveling with pets – whether to the veterinarian or on a flight overseas – is not a comfortable experience, especially if you don’t have a pet that’s friendly with her carrier bag. Now, either you can step up your game and train the pup to enjoy the safe confines of a pet carrier, or even better, get her a carrier she would love to burrow in.

There is a plethora of options on the market that vouch to be convenient to carry and comfy for the most restless pets. When it comes down to choosing one for our needs, we must consider safety, convenience, and aesthetics primarily.

Because there are so many variables, I’m sure, you would have gone pillar to post in search of a pet carrier that checks these boxes. Not sure about your outcome; but if someday I want a carrier, it ought to be somewhere around the concept of the Burrow.

Burrow for one ousts the regular bag appearance and those sharp-edge cage aesthetics for a pleasing design with safe corners. The functional design has a convenient push-button door and comes padded with a removable mattress for the pet to cozy up in. The walls are safe and well-ventilated. Ventilation is enhanced by a mesh door that would let the little pal peek outside and breathe fresh.

What really makes the Burrow pet carrier stand out for me is its detachable design. It is built in two sections: the top and bottom being separable. The sections are enclosed with loop and hook closure which makes it easy to clip and clip off. When torn seperate, the base of the pet carrier doubles as a bed.

This idea not only renders the Burrow multipurpose; it also adds exceptionally to the carrier’s space-saving antics, which is generally a concern with traditional pet carriers. Offered in four colors, Burrow allows pet owners to personalize it courtesy of a silicon dog tag attached to the handle of the carrier. This collapsible dog crate keeps your pet safe and free while traveling in your car

When you see dogs riding in cars in movies or even advertisements, you always see the head hanging out, tongue lolling, and pet smiling scenarios. But as any pet owner knows, real life is not as picturesque as that. Dogs in cars can be messy, chaotic, and sometimes even dangerous for both the pets themselves and the owners. So what you need is something that can keep them safe and secure while in a moving vehicle but also give them some sense of freedom.

This dog crate is meant to be a safe space for your pet while they’re riding with you on a short or long road trip. The Safer Automobile Pet Crate doesn’t really look like an actual crate but more like an enclosed baby seat for your fur babies. It is meant to be placed behind the front passenger seat and is secured with a harness to the headrest and a seatbelt for the back part. This way, even when you’re driving fast (or as fast as you’re allowed), the crate will stay in place and your pet be safe.

It is made from lightweight polyester and has a breathable mesh on both sides so your dog will not feel suffocated as it can still breathe and feel the breeze if your windows are down. That way, they can also still see the outside world but they’re kept in place if they become too excitable with all the passing vehicles and the kids waving from other cars. There are zipper doors on either side for easy access and the crate also has two storage pockets for things like food and water and hook-and-loop fasteners to hold their toys and treats.

To make your dog more comfortable, it has a fleece-covered pad. The whole thing is also easy to clean as it is washing-machine friendly. And in case you’re not bringing your pet with you on certain trips, you can just fold it flat and store it somewhere else to make space in the car. The Safer Automobile Pet Crate measures 28 x 19 x 27 inches so it may be just right for your small or medium-sized dogs. It’s also pretty affordable at just $130 and for pet lovers that love to travel with their dogs, that’s a small price to pay.

There’s a special place in my heart…reserved completely for pet products! Our pets are quite literally our lifelines, and if you own a cat or two like me, then you know most of our days are spent catering to their every whim and fancy. Well-designed, smart, and functional product designs can make your pet’s life easier, more comfortable, and fun! And if they manage to provide some utility to your living space and you, then it’s quite literally the best of both worlds. One such example of an innovative design that caters to the needs of both pets and humans is – Guacal.

Designed by Andrés Cáceres, Guacal is a cute pet carrier that seems to double up as a stool for humans! Mimicking a mini stool, Guacal takes on a squarish form with rounded edges. The lower section seems to function as the pet carrier with transparent panels supporting the entire structure,  allowing you to keep an eye on your pet at all times. The upper section features a wooden base, which seems to serve as the seating area for you! Guacal looks sturdy enough to not only support your weight but to carry your pet around wherever you go. If you separate the transparent panels from the main structure, it quickly transforms into a handy stool for you.

This pet carrier + bed is a multifunctional design that your pet will voluntarily jump into!

When JP, my roommate’s cat, has to go to the vet, wrangling him into his pet carrier is a team effort. JP is quick, his claws are sharp, and he is willing to do anything to avoid that plastic-shelled trap. Many pets find comfort in their crates. JP loves to curl up in a box or other confined space. The problem is that his carrier comes with negative connotations, and the material itself is hard plastic. The Hoonico new carrio 2, on the other hand, offers a soft, comfy den that your cat would voluntarily step in. I don’t see the Hoonico as a pet carrier or kennel; I see it as a cat bed that happens to be portable.

Additionally, the new carrio 2 has taken into account your comfort needs as the pet holder. The product has detachable straps that can hook onto the bag in four different ways. You can wear it as a backpack (oriented vertically or horizontally), a shoulder bag, a crossbody carrier on your chest, or hold it like a briefcase. This multifunctional feature makes the process of totting your pet as convenient as possible.

Here are a few extra features that you and your pet will love. One, the carrier’s cover has a peephole that your cat can watch the world through. Two, that same door has a magnet sewn in, so it can stick to the other half of the bag and give your cat a more scenic view. Don’t worry, your pet won’t jump out because there’s a secondary net covering underneath! The carrier also has a cloth loop where you can hook a lock around the zipper for extra pet safety.

I love the functionality of this product, but I also appreciate its aesthetic. The neutral gray fabric could match with most outfit color schemes, making it the perfect accessory. I imagine the Hoonico as a practical transport vessel, but with its stylish design, I’d be tempted to carry my roommate’s cat wherever I go.

This stackable pet carrying case keeps them cool using a technique inspired by space shuttles

Traveling with your pet can be tough. It gets even harder when you have more than one tagging along for the ride. Lugging your dog or cat around the airport in a briefcase-style carrying case can get tiring very quickly due to its weight and more inconvenient size. Fortunately, just like when the briefcase landed some hot new wheels and made rolling luggage the new norm, PAWSPAL makes transporting your pets and bringing them along for faraway trips much easier.

Passakorn Kulkliang designed PAWSPAL in order to help better facilitate the typically difficult task of traveling with animal companions. The product has three main functions: a fully-integrated, chargeable air ventilation system, a bottom deck used to roll the carrying cases, and the individual crate’s inbuilt stackability. If the user were to choose to roll their pets through the airport, just like the common rolling suitcase, then the case or cases can be placed atop the removable base for easy maneuvering throughout any space or building. In addition to the stackable feature and the wheeled base, users can opt-out to carry the case as it is. Lastly, inside the crate, you won’t have to worry about your pet overheating because each case comes equipped with an operating air ventilation system that keeps your animal cool at all times. Each crate from PAWSPAL includes a charging hole for USB C cables so that keeping your pet cool is a given. Your pup or kitten can also enjoy plenty of air circulation and privacy thanks to the air slots that are large enough to maintain healthy airflow, but slim enough to keep prying eyes away from bothering your pet.

PAWSPAL, designed by Passakorn Kulkliang, reinterprets carrying cases for pets by taking inspiration from the classic space shuttle. Similar to the space aircraft, the main crates are fully detachable and can be carried alone, just as the main shuttle detaches from rockets. The wheels, like rockets, keep the main body moving, each part of the design can stack on top of one another as a payload bay rest atop rockets, and it’s designed to make an otherwise inherently confining product feel a lot more spacious. With PAWSPAL, strategizing ways to bring your pet along for the trip will no longer feel like rocket science, or it just might.

This pet home and carrier is an emergency kit designed to safely evacuate your pets during disasters!

Pets are our best friends and they are also known to be incredibly crucial in reducing stress, anxiety, depression, and boost overall wellbeing. Given the times, the number of people adopting and relying on emotional support animals is only increasing. They are family and that means that they have to be protected like a member of the family – no one gets left behind. This clever animal carrier was designed to prepare you and your furry companion for disasters by equipping you with emergency kits that work for your needs and the needs of your emotional service pet.

While we love and care for them as we do for our own children, there is not enough being done in terms of disaster preparedness for them. Evacuating with animals needs a lot of advance preparation and most people are unprepared due to a lack of information or kits that are made for this specific situation. As emotional support/companion animals are increasingly becoming a new norm, we need a kit like Base which ensures their safety while doubling up as an everyday pet furniture item in the house. In the event of a disaster, you can rely on the built-in emergency kit by using Base as a carrier for your pet. The shape is inspired by a friendly cave that makes animals feel protected keeping it aligned with their natural instincts of hiding when they are scared. The product consists of two parts- the left side of the kit provides basic products and the right side can be selected by the user according to the companion animal species making it usable for a wide variety of people and pets. It also comes with rescue request stickers that help neighbors to identify the pet and help to rescue them in the case of any unfortunate events.

Base is basically (see what I did there?) the Clark Kent of pet essentials – a sweet pet house every day that turns into a heroic product in times of crisis.

We are all itching to travel again but we know that travel will be changed forever post this pandemic. The bright side is that we have the opportunity to change the way we have been doing things and make them better. While we are on the subject of making the transit easier and safer, let’s not forget that travel is not easy on our pets at all. They get stressed and confused which leads them to fall ill, and it leaves the owners in a constant state of concern which doesn’t make traveling a pleasant experience. The Air Cage was designed specifically to make the journey easier on the pets and their owners so that everyone can enjoy an emotional turbulence-free flight!

Air Cage was created to ensure your pet’s safety and ease your mind when you’re traveling with them. The concept was designed to be a rent-as-you-go service but it can also be opened to buying. You get your carrier in advance so your pet can familiarize themselves with it and have lesser anxiety during the flight. On the day of departure, your pet will be comfortable in the Air Cage which you can then handover to the attendants without any worry because you will be able to monitor your pet throughout the journey thanks to an in-built device.
