F1 Racing Simulator build from authentic Red Bull RB18 puts you right in the action

The formula-1 2023 season kicked off in Bahrain and Red Bull yet again seems to have the championship-winning dominant package on track. With a goal to keep up the winning streak of last year’s RB18 F1 car, this season’s Red Bull racer is a hard competitor for other teams in the paddock to reckon with.

To bring home an exclusive experience of F1 sim racing for Formula-1 fans who are rooting for the current favorite Oracle Red Bull Racing team, a life-sized F1 simulator rig has been designed by 2022 Constructors’ World Championship-winning team in collaboration with memorabilia pros, Memento Exclusives (F1 Authentics).

Designer: Memento Exclusives and Oracle Red Bull Racing

This Show Car Simulator is built on repurposed ex-show cars from the 2022 season (designed by Adrian Newey – CTO, Red Bull Racing) which saw Red Bull winning 17 out of the 23 GP races. On this development Christian stated, “Driving a Formula 1 car is something most of us can only dream of, but this simulator is as close as it gets to the real thing. Memento Exclusives have recreated the car to bring the track into your home.”

To keep things as close to reality as possible, all these manufactured racing simulators will be made using the same process and CAD data used in the F1 racing cars. The 160 kgs of bodywork are crafted using composite tools to carve the carbon fiber molds. According to F1 Authentics, the simulators are like the ones used by drivers to prepare for races.

Of course hardware on the simulator will be top-notch with curved AOC gaming screens, surround sound speakers by Z906 Ultimate THX, industry leading adjustable racing pedals, brakes and force feedback paddle steering wheel featuring go-race quick-release mechanism.

The simulator will come in two variants – one will be ’The Champions Edition’ having a front wing assembly and the other one is ‘The Racing Edition’ which misses out on the wing.

They are priced at £99,999 (approximately $1,21,500) and £74,999 (approximately $91,125)  Both of these racing simulators come in either Verstappen or Perez-themed liveries, so you can make your preferred choices. The Red Bull Racing RB18 Show Car Simulator rigs will be manufactured in Northamptonshire, England, and shipped to customers in April 2023.

Portable controller with advanced flight control buttons is a worthy replacement for dedicated flight gear

Playing Microsoft Flight simulator with a gaming controller has its limitation, but then, not everyone can own a filthy expensive flight simulator to enjoy the game to the fullest. Modern controllers are good for most genres like racing, fighting or arcade; but land flat on their faces when it comes to flight simulator games.

No more as Yawman Arrow combines the features of a joystick, desktop throttle quadrant and rudder controls to give players precise control of the plane’s movement. The compact controller is a god-sent accessory for sim enthusiasts who don’t want to clutter their desks with pricey pedals, throttle controllers or yokes. Basically, ones who value space and portability more than anything else.

Designer: Yawn Flight

The controller comes with dedicated controls for all the complex actions in-game. Things like six programmable buttons, five action D-Pad, a five-way hat switch, dual sliders and vernier-styled controls. This gives gamers very accurate input while flying planes like the Cessna 172 that have push/pull-styled throttle and mixture controls. There’s a pair of mechanically linked rudders (patent pending) that’ll give players a tactical advantage while flying in adverse weather conditions or operating a sim helicopter with advanced controls.

This custom-designed flight sim gamepad is ideal for air combat games with all the levers, wheels and sliders within fingers reach. Not only these features, but the controller has also six action buttons (compared to four on a normal controller) giving the player option to map more controls. There are mindfully designed grips on each side for ergonomic comfort during extended gameplay.

The only downside here I can point out is that it should have been wireless for more added value propositions. According to Yawman, the controller will be released this spring. The probable price tag of the accessory is also unknown at this time.

At the time of launch Yawman Arrow will be compatible with most of the PC flight simulation titles including the Microsoft Flight simulator, Laminar Research’s X-Plane (macOS as well), Lockheed and Martin’s Prepar3D. Infinite Flight for Android is also on the list of officially compatible games, and we can expect more titles to gain compatibility once the controller is popular with gamers.

Studio Casti conceives DrivePod, a racing simulator worthy of being setup in your living room

Push over the random black sim rig out of the window, it’s time for the DrivePod to make its way into your living room. We have been through tech-savvy racing simulators that make you better at driving or get you to race tracks you’ve never been to before, but they all look so random and are only worth a garage setup.

The cutting-edge design of the DrivePod coupled with top-notch engineering is going to put all of those run-of-the-mill setups to shame. Idealized to provide the rush of adrenaline you would experience in a real racing car; this professional-grade racing sim thrives on superior ergonomics, functionality, and an appearance to fall for.

Designer: Studio Casti

Studio Casti is a global design brand that has been blooming on its unparalleled craftsmanship. Its driving simulator is not ready for production yet, it only exists in renders, but its striking blue and champagne aesthetics make it irresistible at least for the motorhead in me.

Ideal for playing state-of-the-art racing games, the DrivePod is built around a champagne-colored metal frame housing a widescreen display and a steering column bursting out of the middle of the frame. All the innards to run the system are neatly packed into the frame, which is attached to a striking blue base featuring an adaptable bucket seat and the peddle setup.

The most interesting part about the base is the rails that allow the driver seat to slide back and forth to allow the driver to position it according to his comfort. To make things more compelling, the DrivePod can be made to order. So you can give your sim rig a makeover to your liking and enjoy F1-style speed driving in the comfort of your living room.

Logitech G PRO Racing Wheel and Pedals elevate racing sim experience to god level

Logitech is making all the news today with quite a few announcements breathing down our neck. The one that’s making all the limelight though – the gaming brand’s new racing wheel and pedals for hardcore gamers who’ll go any length for maximum in-game immersion.

The PRO racing Wheel and the PRO racing Pedals aim to elevate the simulation of sim racing to an unprecedented level for compatible gaming titles and platforms like PlayStation 4/5, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One or PC.

Designer: Logitech

According to Logitech G (brand’s gaming wing), the steering wheel very closely emulates the car’s feedback, just like it would be in the real world. Thus, racing game pros can feel every jerk or turning stress with 100 percent accuracy. It’s almost like being right there on the racing track. The gaming accessories are designed keeping in mind the professional sim drivers.

The heart of the racing wheel is the high-performance Direct Drive engine and the high-definition TRUEFORCE feedback technology for “pure connection to racing.” The motor generates 11-newton meters of force with a very low-latency response. When mated to the TRUEFORCE tech, the racing wheel is capable of delivering never-before-experienced realism.

According to rising star Formula-1 racing driver Lando Norris (team McLaren), the G PRO Racing Wheel simulates the real-time conditions of the track and how the car chances during the race. After spending time with the wheel, Lando said, he feels like being right there on the track even when he enjoys simulated runs in his home.

Richard Neville, head of simulation and controllers for Logitech Gaming further retreats this fact by explaining that they have analyzed everything in detail right from how many gear shifts, turns and impacts an 11-newton meter wheel takes, to which materials and components will last through even the most grueling racing conditions.” The wheel also has a precise button and dial placement along with the magnetic gear shift paddles, and dual-clutch paddles for a tactile analog response for varied gaming functions.

The new set of pedals is the perfect alibi for the racing wheel, as they are equipped with the load cell on the brake for the braking pedal, and contactless hall-effect sensors for the clutch and gas. The three pedals have pressure detection technology for realistic muscle memory and consistent performance. The G PRO Racing Pedals can be adjusted to be soft or firm depending on the gamer’s preference.

For professional gamers who want to invest in a state-of-the-art setup, the Logitech G PRO Racing Wheel and the Racing Pedals will come at a price tag of $999 and $349 respectively.

A customizable racing wheel that’ll fit future hypercar consoles like a charm

Racing games have evolved from the initial pixelated versions to the surreal graphics treat with amazing physics for avid gamers. So have the other simulated inputs such as force feedback. Racing gaming cockpits such as Next Level Racing Challenger, Playseat Challenge or Trak Racer TR80 quench the thirst of the most demanding racing game lovers. But for ones who are short on space and constricted by budget, a sim racing wheel is the next best option.

The ones by Thrustmaster, Logitech Fanatec rule the market currently, and just like every other racing game fan, I’m always on the lookout for the best new options. While most of the products in their lineup come with a racing wheel and separate pedals, won’t it be great to own a wheel that has it all? And what better if it could perfectly fit inside your future racing car.

Designer:  Mitja Borkert

Check out the TRZ-Y racing wheel concept inspired by the Lamborghini Terzo Millennio concept designed by Mitja Borkert. This sim racing wheel is ideated keeping in mind the needs of the most avid racing simulator fanatics who want everything to be perfect. TRZ-Y is for gamers who are pinned down from having a good experience due to the lack of available space for a full-fledged racing simulator setup. It is meant to be used without a dedicated pedal setup, thereby saving even more space on your desk.

The ergonomic shape of TRZ-Y replicates the interior design language of conceptual hypercars which is understandable given its Lamborghini concept inspiration. The concept racing wheel is also meant to be a plug-and-play input for concept hypercars, thanks to the future-forward design language. Force feedback on this one comes courtesy of the high-performance responsive motor located on the rear, and the customizable controls give the user a plethora of options when being used.

Since a racing wheel is going to be used for extended hours of gameplay, the designer incorporates ergonomic grip and tactile feedback from the paddles for an immersive gaming experience. This also ensures able hand and arm support for long hours of gaming fun. The customizable controls on both front sides of the racing wheel can be set up for elements like the real-time map view of the lap, the currently selected gear, or the RPMs. They can also be toggled for physical buttons just like on circuit racing cars.

Flashback in time and the nostalgia of classic Formula-1 cars racing down the straights, makes you want to time travel that era. Sure, modern driving simulators are one way to satiate your craving but the overall sensory experience is something that takes a hit. Amongst the sea of new-age simulators that traverse you to the realms of a pure adrenaline rush, the TCCT eClassic driving simulator gives you reason enough to feel the heat of the championship battles.

TCCT eClassic Club members can drive precious classic cars for the racing rush by participating in the club’s racing programs and championships. Amateur users can use the support services offered by the racing academy to improve driving skills and then, later on, take on the pros for bragging rights. Using today’s technology to experience the thrill of yesteryears – the TCCT eClassic driving simulator is created by Racing Unleashed. Unlike other racing simulators they’ve been accustomed to creating, this one is draped in classic elements for obvious reasons. The steering wheel has a wooden crown, the gear shifter is a manual transmission and the interior leather upholstery carries that 70s vibe.

To immerse the driver in action, eClassic simulator has active hydraulic pistons for experiencing every sharp turn and bumps on the chicanes. One of the simulators takes the form of the two-seater Cisitalia 202 GT having the flowing aerodynamic design. Combined with the panning 46-inch ViewSonic screens for visual awesomeness, you are in for the ride of your life once the engines start.
