Tesla’s New Roadster May Become The Fastest Production Car Ever. Period.

Tesla’s big announcement yesterday was the reveal of their electric semi-truck boasting a mile-range in the neighborhood of 500 miles per charge, and including some self-driving capabilities. That’s all well and good (actually it may be industry-changing), but this is OhGizmo, we need something more exciting than an electric truck.

Enter the new Tesla Roadster. Tesla’s first production car is back with a vengeance, and it’s taking on all other super cars, like all of them. Elon Musk claims the new Roadster can do 0-60 in 1.9 seconds, that’s the base model, and it’s also the first time a production car would crack 2-seconds. He even hinted that the car’s top speed will be over 250mph.

And as for the range, Tesla claims that the Roadster’s 200kwh battery pack can run the car for 620 miles, or over 1,000 kilometers. The thing’s even got 3 motors, one in the front and two in the rear.

The only thing that’s not to love is the price, as all that record-shattering performance will start at $200,000.

I’ll start saving every dollar I make starting today. Tesla, hold the 2085 model for me please.

Hit the jump to see more shots to fuel your lottery-winning-dreams.

Aston Martin DBC Concept Wants to Give Enzo a Run for Its Money

Aston Martin makes some beautiful cars, and I have to say that I really like the look of this concept DBC. The low stance and curved lines are reminiscent of a McLaren, and it looks very fast and agile.

The Aston Martin DBC concept was created by Samir Sadikhov, and it feels like a mix between modern Aston Martins and cars like the McLaren MP4-12C.

While it’s improbable that Aston Martin will ever a mid-engine car – since they have stated that their cars are grand tourers – it would be quite amazing to see their brand on a car like this.

All things considered, Aston Martin should definitely create something like this, even if it is just a limited edition. After all, wouldn’t you like to see James Bond driving one of these?

Rimac quells Concept_One doubters, shows its EV supercar’s pedal to the metal (video)

O ye unfaithful, believe. For those of you who saw Rimac's preview of its Concept_One electric supercar and were skeptical of that claimed 2.8-second 0-62MPH time given all the leisurely putting around, the Croatian automaker has followed up with a video proving that this isn't your daddy's EV. It turns out that the 1,088HP-equivalent motor is quick enough to leave a lot of rubber on the tarmac, thank you -- both from a very enthusiastic start and from a healthy amount of drifting. This won't change the need to both drop $980,000 and get in quick on that 88-unit production run, but if you were worried that there wouldn't be a torch-bearer for high-speed EVs during the Tesla Roadster's hiatus, Rimac just put that anxiety to bed.
