Han Solo’s Tauntaun Magnet Is Perfect for Your Refrigerator

Do you love Star Wars? Well here’s something new you really need to add to your collection. Yes, kids, it’s an official Star Wars tauntaun magnet, courtesy of the creative minds at Regal Robot.

Based on Han Solo’s trusty steed on the ice planet of Hoth, this hefty magnet measures 3″ tall, and is cast from solid polyurethane resin and handpainted to bring out all of the details of the tauntaun’s head. While the inside of a tauntaun is good for keeping things warm in sub-zero temperatures, we’ve been assured that this one won’t cause the contents of your freezer to melt.

The tauntaun magnet is available for order now over at Regal Robot, where it’s going for $29.99. They’re also teasing the next magnet in their Beast Collection, which is pretty obviously that nasty Rancor that thought about having Luke Skywalker for lunch.

This Tauntaun Head Wall Trophy Will Dress up Any Space

So you’ve been freezing to death on the surface of Hoth, and spent the night sleeping inside of the smelly guts of your tauntaun pal to keep warm. Now that you’re done with your near-death experience, you’ve got to do something with that carcass, right? I’m not sure if tauntaun meat tastes good, but you could at least take its head and mount it on your wall to remember your frozen night in the belly of the beast.

The guys at prop shop Imagemotor make this epic life-size replica of a tauntaun’s head, ready to mount over your mantle piece. The furry guy measures in at a whopping 34″ tall by 19″ wide by 19″ deep, but weighs just 30 pounds. It’s made from cast high density foam, wrapped in faux fur, cast resin horns, and comes topped off with fake snow. While that might not be what a real tauntaun is made from, this one definitely won’t stink up the place.

All of this tauntaun goodness doesn’t come cheap, though. You’re looking at $1999.95 if you want to hang one on your wall. That may be expensive, but it’s way less expensive than a flight to Hoth – at least the last time I checked Travelocity.

This Disemboweled Tsum Tsum Tauntaun Is Adorable

Do you like disemboweled Tauntauns? Good, because Disney is releasing ten new Hoth-themed plush toys that include Leia, 2-1B, a Wampa, Luke, Han, and even a Tauntaun. Yes, a Tauntaun Tsum Tsum. That is way too much fun to say.

The best part is that the Tauntaun is a carrier that you can open up and stuff your Tsum Tsums into. You know, to save their fuzzy lives from the cold. Yes, this thing is equal parts weird and adorable. I think the final verdict has to be that it is indeed awesome.

We don’t have any info about prices yet, but they should all be available at Disney Store retail locations and online on December 20th, just in time for last minute Christmas gifts.

Kid’s “Empire Strikes Back” Costume Wins Halloween

Halloween is a holiday that any adults and children of all ages can get behind. I love to see the custom costumes that people whip up each year, and the coolest kid’s costume I’ve ever seen is right here.

tauntaun_costume_1

Motorcycle leather artist Clinton Case created this epic cosplay for his son, earning him a nomination for Dad of the Year. It’s a little replica of Luke riding on the back of his tauntaun on Hoth. It has fake legs dangling on top, and the kid’s legs are actually the legs of the tauntaun .

It may be the most awesome costume in the history of Halloween. I have no idea how the guy cooked this up, but it is perfect. All we really know is that it took four months, 100 glue sticks, two yards of fur, and a goat mask to make.

Tauntaun the Snowman

If it’s snowy outside where you are, you probably feel like you are on Hoth already. You might as well have a Tauntaun to ride. Redditor Xnipek posted this photo of their friend sitting on the back of an awesome snowman that he built. It is made to look just like a tauntaun from The Empire Strikes Back.

Of course the insides of this Tauntaun aren’t going to keep anyone warm, so don’t go slicing it open to stash your friend inside. Otherwise when Echo base finds you, you will both be frozen solid.

These guys know how to have fun in the snow. They also have very cold and wet butts from sitting on this thing.

Star Wars Stuffed Animals Keep You Warm at Night

We have seen plenty of plush toys from the Star Wars universe. The last time we talked Star Wars stuffed items, said stuffies were of spacecraft from the movies. This time out we get actual stuffed animals, assuming Jabba the Hutt is some sort of an animal.

There are six different creatures to choose from including a Wampa, Bantha, Tauntaun, Rancor, Dewback, and the aforementioned Hutt. I’m not sure how you can make Star Wars stuffed animals and not include an Ewok in the mix.

The Rancor is sort of cute as is the Wampa. My favorite is the Tauntaun, which doesn’t stink if you use it to stay warm on those cold Hoth nights. You can get any of the six characters for $14.99(USD) at ThinkGeek.

Crochet Amigurumi Stuffed Tauntaun: Soft Hoth

This adorable crocheted Tauntaun will be a great addition to your other plush Star Wars toys. He will look great on your shelf, your couch, in your bed or wherever. He isn’t big enough to cut open if you are facing bitter cold temps though. Which is good, considering the smell.

This cute little guy stands about 5-1/4″ tall and even has a saddle for a rider. It comes from Etsy artist underafeymoon and will cost you about $14(USD). Display it with your Luke Skywalker action figure as a rider and he will look great in your collection.

Just kidding about the smell. It doesn’t smell like a real Tauntaun.

Rocking Horse Tauntauns: I Want to Rock and Roll All Night and Party on Hoth Every Day!

There is something special about old timey toys like rocking horses. They are simple and require a child to use their imagination. No fancy lights or voice activation here. Just good old fashioned play. Well, if you like the simplicity of the rocking horse, but want a geeky spin on it, look no further. I present to you the Tauntaun rocking horse.

They don’t smell like the real thing, thankfully and will provide hours of rocking fun, while you pretend that you are on Hoth. I’m not sure who made these, but they are awesome, and whoever did it needs to step forward so we can give them the credit they deserve.

Heck, I would use one of these as a chair and rock all day while I work. Kids shouldn’t have all the fun.

Tauntaun Hoodie Preserves Body Warmth

We already have Tauntaun sleeping bags from ThinkGeek, but they are expensive and maybe you want to wear your Tauntaun rather than sleep in it. Good thing for us, the folks at WeLoveFine are offering this awesome hoodie for just $59(USD).

It is all Tauntaun up top, and also has a smooth satin lining that features printed images of intestines for added realism. Another bonus is that there is no Tauntaun smell.

The lightsaber zip pull is a nice touch. Too bad Han couldn’t cut open his Tauntaun with a zipper. This hoodie is perfect for harsh winters when you have to reach the first marker.

“Talking” Tauntaun Stuffed Animal Will Keep You Warm at Night

The Tauntaun was the best way to get around the frigid surface of the ice planet Hoth. It was also the place to keep warm if you were hypothermic, assuming you have a friend with a lightsaber ready to cut the beast open. ThinkGeek has a cute little Tauntaun plush that you don’t have to gut to keep you comfy at bedtime.

The little stuffed animal looks like a cuter cartoon version than the rather ugly horned animal Luke rode in The Empire Strikes Back. When you squeeze the stuffed animal it makes authentic sounding noises that you’ll recognize from the film. You know, things like “RRREREOREROOERRRRR….”

The plush toys were made for Star Wars Celebration Europe II, and carry that name on the foot. Each one measures 12-inches toes to ears and 15-inches nose to tail.

ThinkGeek says that these are very limited edition and once they’re gone, no more will be produced. So put on your warmest winter garb and head over there now to pick up your own stuffed Tauntaun for $29.99(USD).

I wonder if you could install a zipper into its chest and stick your Luke Skywalker action figure inside.
