Toshiba hits back by announcing their newest portable SSD, the XS700. Coming in 240GB capacity, this palm-sized SSD is equipped with a shock-proof aluminum housing, 3D BiCS NAND Flash memory chips, a USB 3.1 Gen 2 Type-C connection interface, exFAT factory format and UASP mode support.

Supporting Windows 10, Windows 8.1, Windows 7 and Mac OS X 10.11, 10.10, 10.9 operating systems, the XS700 portable SSD promises to deliver sequential read and write speeds of up to 530MB/s and 480MB/s, respectively. Backed by a 3-year warranty, the Toshiba XS700 will hit the shelves later this month for around $200. [Product Page]
