The Chevy Cobalt ETV (Extra Terrestrial Vehicle) Is out of This World

Crafted by car kit maker and Florida Man Mike Vetter, the ETV (Extra Terrestrial Vehicle) is a custom body kit that makes cars look like their gullwing doors are about to open and a bunch of bug-eyed aliens are going to crawl out with laser blasters to conquer earth. I must have one.

The Mike Vetter ETV can actually be fit on several different vehicles, but this one was built on a 2008 Chevy Cobalt, powered by a 2.2 liter Ecotec four-cylinder engine producing a blistering 148 horsepower. I sure hope Mike includes racing harnesses in the kit!

This particular model, which was previously on display at the London Motor Museum (presumably in The Hall of the Future) prior to its closure due to the COVID pandemic, is now being sold through the Bonhams auction house, which estimates it’ll fetch between $10,000 – $16,000. For reference, Mike’s original asking price was $95,000, so it’s really a steal if you think about it. Just don’t think about it too hard. Or at all, just raise that bidding paddle and buy it for me.

Guys Successfully 3D Print a Functional Wheel Rim

Because 3D printing offers a glimpse into the future, Jón Schone of YouTube channel Proper Printing used the technology to print a car rim that can successfully be driven on without failing and causing a horrific accident. And, after some trial and error (the first prototype failed due to layer separation caused by the tire pressure stretching the rim), he was finally able to produce a functional rim. Still, would I trust my life to it? Absolutely not.

You know, in the future, we won’t even have spare tires; we’ll have onboard robots that can manufacture any broken car part in a matter of minutes so we can quickly be on our way without getting a tow truck or shifty backwoods mechanic involved. Will I live to see that future? Probably not, but maybe my grandchildren would if I had any.

Last weekend, I actually told my wife I was thinking about buying a 3D printer, and she immediately asked what I need one for. It took some time to explain that it wasn’t so much a need as it was a desire, and that’s when she shut down the idea. Now I’m left with no choice but to buy one behind her back and set it up in the guest bedroom closet without her knowledge.

$1.5-Million Bugatti Chiron Watch Has a Tiny Functional W16 Engine Inside

Meticulously crafted by jeweler and watchmaker Jacob & Co, the Bugatti Chiron Blue Sapphire Crystal watch costs $1.5-million and features a tiny replica of a Bugatti W16 engine inside, complete with 16 moving pistons. The watch took over a year to build and features a 51-jewel movement and 578 handmade and decorated pieces in total, almost all of which are visible through the translucent case. I can’t help but feel like it belongs in a museum.

What a thing of beauty. You really have to watch the video to fully appreciate just how finely crafted this thing is. Of course, for $1.5-million, it better be. Me? I wear a cheap $49 watch, but it does function as a TV remote as well. Which, I’ve since found out, is a great way to get kicked out of bars during football games.

How awesome would it feel to wear this watch? I bet it would feel amazing. Partially because the watch is so cool, but mostly because you’re so rich you can afford a $1.5 million watch to go with your $3 million sports car. That’s a life I can hardly imagine but daydream about twice a month when I’m spending my whole paycheck on lottery tickets.

Hot Wheels Car Rolling Suitcase Is Road Trip Ready

Because why not get your child actually excited to pack and tote their luggage around on vacation, MaxToy teamed up with Mattel to create this officially licensed Hot Wheels Night Shifter rolling suitcase (affiliate link). The case features a hard shell in the form of a Hot Wheels car, complete with wheels, exposed engine, and – what are those coming out the back – jet engines?

The suitcase also has a durable aluminum frame, retractable handle, and 3-wheel rollers so kids can push or pull the bag with ease, even over curbs or up stairs. That’s a good thing, too, because I’m not pulling my children’s luggage for them. They didn’t even offer to chip in to help pay for this vacation!

Honestly, I kind of want one for myself. Sure, it’s children’s sized, but I pack light for vacation anyways. I usually just bring enough underwear for ten days and buy any other clothes I need when I get where I’m going. What can I say? I’m a carefree spirit. Hey, can I borrow a clean shirt?

Widescape WS250: The World’s First Stand-Up Snowmobile

Introduced by upstart Canadian powersports company Widescape, the WS250 is allegedly the world’s first snowmobile designed to be ridden while standing up. Wait – who wants to stand? Sitting is where it’s at. And, if I’m being perfectly honest, I’d much rather be lying down. Now, where’s that snowmobile?


Powered by a fuel-injected 242cc 4-stroke engine, the WS250 features a significantly slimmer platform than most traditional snowmobiles (you can fit two in the bed of a truck side-by-side), allowing a rider to access areas larger machines might not be able to. Yeti cave, here we come! Gosh, I sure hope it invites us in for hot cocoa instead of mauling us to death like a wampa.

Are you thinking what I’m thinking? If it involves an annual snowmobile jousting competition, you are! The machines weigh in at just under 200 lbs and start at around $6,750, meaning they weigh even less than I do but are worth almost $6,750 more. That’s crazy to think about — also, more than a little depressing.

This dapper rental electric scooter is the perfect sidekick for congestion-free city commuting

A scooter designed for rental city rides goes all well for the future of commuting without getting stuck in traffic jams. To top it off, YETTIE looks totally badass to make young riders go bonkers over the idea!

Electric scooters are the undeniable future as they come good on all counts for solo city commuting needs. They take up the least possible parking space, are highly maneuverable in traffic, and have minimal environmental footprint when stacked against EVs. To appeal to more urban riders, a scooter needs to have that definitive sense of style and cool factor. Keeping this very spirit alive for the future of urban commuting is the striking electric scooter concept penned by Roman Dolzhenko.

This rental scooter dubbed YETTIE impresses on the first look for its sharp balanced design which seems tailor-made for city riding needs. The big chunky tires (by a kick scooter’s standards) make sure the rider is confident of taking turns at respectable speeds or driving during rainy days too. The essence of the design is its Sin City 2077 panache which Roman explicitly highlights in the renderings. For sure it has got to have a Cyberpunk 2077 influence – at least those LED lights and the flowing motifs on the inside lining of the front tires suggest the fact.

The rider gets all the vital telemetric information on the monochrome LED display on the handlebar, displaying the battery charge level, current driving speed, and important notifications from connected mobile devices. Robust make of the two-wheeler ride is important since it is projected as a rental e scooter, and use-case scenarios demand such a ride to take on the brunt of rough use. While Roman limits the concept’s avenues to just rental use, I think it will make for a very excellent private-owned scooter too.

Tesla’s Kid-Size Cyberquad ATV: For Your Mini Musk

Released just in time for Christmas (but not guaranteed for Christmas delivery), Tesla is selling a child-sized version of the Cyberquad it introduced alongside the Cybertruck’s November 2019 unveiling. You know, because why should adults get to have all the fun? Wait – I’m supposed to be having fun? Something has gone horribly wrong.

Built by Radio Flyer for Tesla, the pint-sized ATV costs $1,900 and features a full steel frame, cushioned seat, adjustable suspension with rear disk brakes, and LED light bars. Powered by a lithium-ion battery, the Cyberquad has a 15-mile range at speeds up to 10 MPH or restricted to 5 MPH if you don’t trust your kids like me. I swear, I can’t turn my back for one second without another fire getting started.

Unfortunately for anybody hoping to catch a ride on their kid’s new Cyberquad, the max weight capacity is 150 lbs., meaning my kids won’t be getting one, just like I never got the Power Wheels Jeep I always wanted growing up. Which, just for the record, wasn’t the character-building exercise my dad led me to believe it would be.

The EXO Giga Bike is a Custom PC in a Bicycle: BMX On

If you’re a PC enthusiast, you might have noticed that boutique manufacturers are actually making open-air chassis that are not meant to be test benches, but for showcase builds. Well, how’s this for an open-air chassis? Russian-based shop Yolenzo worked with Red Bull, Intel, and Gigabyte to create the Exo Giga Bike, a rocker bicycle that’s equipped with serious gaming horsepower.

It’s a bit sad that most of us can’t even get our hands on any current-gen GPU, yet these guys slapped one on a bike. But the project’s cool factor does soothe the sting. The Exo has an Intel Core i5 11600K CPU, an RTX 3070, 32GB of RAM, 2TB NVME SSD, and a Z590 motherboard.
