It's been exactly 2 years since WhatsApp revealed that it had one 1.5 billion users. 500 million users in a span of two years are quite impressive indeed.

Xiaomi will unveil its flagship Mi 10 series smartphone on the 13th of February, at an online-only event. Most insiders believe the event will see the Chinese OEM launching Mi 10 and Mi 10 Pro. The phones will run on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 865 SoC and will boast of 12 GB of LPDDR5 RAM. It is not clear at the moment if the RAM will come from the warehouses of Samsung or Micron. Mi 10 Pro may also feature 66-watt fast wired charging.

Lei Jun leaked teaser poster revealing details on Weibo

In support of the rumors and expectations, Xiaomi has launched a teaser poster on the Chinese social media platform Weibo. Lei Jun, Xiaomi’s co-founder, shared the teaser posters on his Weibo page. So, while it is confirmed that the release is imminent, it also throws light on certain features of the smartphones.

From the teaser poster, one can infer a number of things about the Mi 10 series smartphones:

A new Google Maps update is coming later today, and it promises a number of features and a snazzy new redesign. The changes will come to both iOS and Android applications. The update comes exactly after 15 years from the date of the launch of Google Maps beta. With this update, users can expect a slew of new features and design elements that make using the Maps application a joyous experience.

Here are some of the most important features and changes coming with the Google Maps update:

Google Maps now has a four-color icon, that borrows from the elements of the location pin.
At the bottom of the screen, users can find a navigation system with five icons
“Saved” tab fetches a list of locations you may have bookmarked, along with other such lists you may also have created
“Contribute” tab allows you to add photos and reviews locations you visit often
The hamburger menu, which hid many of these icons, is finally gone

Microsoft’s Xbox Live bounty is not easy to win

However, the bounties will only be paid at Microsoft’s own discretion. The vulnerability you discover needs to be severe enough, and the submission you make must impress Microsoft’s team. It's been exactly 10 years since Steve Jobs announced the iPad on the 27th of January, 2010. This was the last product he unveiled before his death due to pancreatic cancer in 2011. While today marks the 10th anniversary of the iPad’s launch, there were a lot of skeptics at that time.

They argued that a tablet was an unnecessary product. However, Jobs remained confident. He explained that there was always room for a device that was in between a laptop and a smartphone as long as it was superior at certain tasks. True to his word, not only was the iPad successful, but even Apple's competitors launched their own tablets.

Boston Dynamics has just announced that it has set free the SDK of Spot, its famed robotic dog. Whoever wants to download the SDK can do so via GitHub. It's a good opportunity for those who are into robotics as a hobby or even as a profession. Whoever has access to the SDK can develop custom applications that allow the spot to perform a number of useful tasks in different industries.

Until now, the SDK was available only for early adopters. Now, just anyone can access the open-source code and start developing away. If you would like to test your code on a robot, you will still need to be an early adopter. Some developers may wonder why they would need an early adopter’s access anyway.

UN Calls for an Investigation After Jeff Bezos Phone Got Hacked

Earlier today, it was reported that Jeff Bezos's phone was hacked via a WhatsApp message. The malicious file was probably sent via the message, which in turn downloaded large amounts of data from Bezos' phone onto the author's device. The message was sent by none other than Mohammed Bin Salman, the crown prince of Saudi Arabia.

However, he denied having hacked Jeff Bezo's phone later on. The two had reportedly been speaking and were on friendly terms. It shouldn't be a surprise that Jeff trusted the sender enough to open the infected file. It shouldn't be surprising to anybody that the infected file was a video. Videos are some of the most common files on WhatsApp and other chat messengers. They are also most likely to act as carriers of malware.

UN calls for an intensive investigation into the hacking attempt

There is, of course, a very dark history behind this recent finding. The hacking took place in 2018 when Bezos had expressed his discomfort over Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi's murder. Amazon's CEO had always suspected Saudi Arabia's hand in the hacking attempt, as many of his personal details were linked in major newspapers. For instance, National Enquirer leaked Bezos' extramarital affair sometimes when the phone was purportedly hacked.

The matter has now escalated so much that even the United Nations has called for an investigation into the hacking. UN experts believe the Saudi prince hacked Bezos' phone in order to silence The Washington Post's reporting on Khashoggi's murder. The forensic analysis clearly points towards the Saudi prince's involvement, but his officials have brushed away the accusation as being nonsensical. The matter has riled foreign governments, UN officials, and CEOs of major tech companies.

The Saudi Embassy tweeted just a while ago that accusations linking the Saudi Kingdom to the hacking of Bezos' phone are absurd. The account went as far as to call for an investigation. However, the investigations already seem to have taken place, and the forensic evidence clearly places the responsibility on the crown prince. This is a developing story and will raise many questions about security.

This is a step above the existing GeForce RTX 2080 Ti, a marvelous GPU. The latest graphics cards are at least 6 times more powerful than their predecessors and come with real-time ray tracing. These cards are enhanced by artificial intelligence, and the sky is the limit for serious gamers who are looking for a professional-grade GPU. GeForce RTX 3080 and the 3070 will be powered by these cards.

What do NVIDIA's GA103 and GA104 pack in?

GA103 is more powerful than the GA104, and it supports 20 GB of GDDR6. It also comes with a superlative 320-bit memory. GA104 differs only slightly and is quite powerful itself too. These graphics cards are specifically meant for those who play into live video games that are complex and very rich in graphics. Gamers can expect very smooth and professional gameplay.
