Harry Potter Film Posters Alternative Horror Versions

Prisoner of Azkaban HorrorPrisoner of Azkaban Horror

One of the coolest series of alternative art online right now is the Scary Potter collection by Dylan Pierpont, giving a beautiful yet chilling horror twist to Harry Potter film posters, or book covers if you prefer.

There’s no denying the dark appeal of Harry Potter, which is a children’s book series and intended for children in the cinema initially, but it’s one of those franchises that its fandom grew with it. Things got darker in the third book/movie, Prisoner of Azkaban, and progressed in that direction, with more mature themes, with every new installment.

So if you don’t mind your childhood ruined and are looking for a spooky look at the series, take a look at these.

Gorgeous Low Poly Scenes From Star Wars, Game of Thrones & More

Death Star Trench

Things look beautiful in good Low Poly graphics, and famous scenes from Star Wars, Back to the Future and Game of Thrones are quite exquisite to relive through these awesome looking graphics.

Star Wars (Death Star Chase)

For those who haven’t seen Episode IV: A New Hope, the chase does end at some point.

The graphics were made by Brazilian artist Bruno Alberto, who is publishing them from time to time on his Facebook page, Low Poly Scenes.

Game of Thrones (Hold the Door)

Makes me cry every time.

Back to the Future (Hitting 88mph)

Marty looks five years old in Low Poly.

Indiana Jones (Running away from that huge ball)

Free Willy (The only scene anyone remembers from the movie)

The thing about Free Willy is that this movie isn’t as good as you might remember it, for those who were kids when it came out. Actually, the graphics in this Gif are probably better than the visual effects in the original film.

Beautiful, Dark Zelda Meets Fallout Mashup Art

Lone Wanderer Link

There’s nothing I love more than some good mashup art and ideas, like this series of artworks combining the post Nuclear world of the Fallout games with characters from The Legend of Zelda and the kingdom of Hyrule.

This is some beautiful work done by Andrew D. Tran, who specializes in these kind of mashups between famous fantasy and pop culture series and objects. The combination of the innocent looking Zelda, Link and others (except for Ganon) with the rugged look of the Fallout universe works very well.

Star Wars Reimagined as a Western

oitUgUh

Of the many alternative art reimaginings Star Wars has gone through, this Old West edition with characters based on the original ones is one of the best we’ve seen in quite some time.

Done by Sillof (Website), the custom made action figures resemble in look, name and background story the characters from the Star Wars saga, only do it with a Western twist, in a series called West Wars.

Luke S. Walker / Luke Skywalker

Some kids who lives on the outer borderlands with his aunt & uncle.

Leah Orango / Leia Organa Solo

The story on this version of Leia is she’s the daughter of a very rich ranching families, and one of the few families standing up to the sheriff (more on him later).

Hank Solomon / Han Solo

Quick on the draw, Hank is a smuggler who sells surplus arms to rebels south of the border.

Chewing Bear / Chewbacca

The companion of Hank Solomon, joining him after Hank once helped Bear’s tribe when sheriff Vardas tried to massacre them.

Sheriff Akan “Death” Vardas / Darth Vader

A deputy turned sheriff, he works for the corrupt robber barons and railroad tycoons of the territory.

Bob A. Ford / Boba Fett

Bounty hunter, Wild West style.

Old Bennett Kennelly / Obi-Wan Kenobi

A former sheriff who got usurped by his deputy (guess who) and is now in hiding.

“Rusty” Ransen D. Dalton / R2-D2

The town’s blacksmith.

Clarence Peppero / C-3PO

A talkative, slightly paranoid bartender in the local saloon.

Star Wars Couple

While Fantasy, Sci-Fi and overall geek-themed shows, movies and books deal with a wide range of subjects, love is always around, and it’s the subject of a wonderful, love oriented gallery of artworks regarding pop culture, geeky couples by Nan Lawson.

Best Fallout Fan Art Ever Made

Let's go pal

It won’t be long before Fallout 4 finally comes out, so it’s a good opportunity to go over the best fan art this game has inspired over the years, including a couple of recent works with the soon-to-be-released game in mind.

Fallout 4 will come out on November 10, 2015 on the PC, PS4 and Xbox one. It’s release will come five years after the release of Fallout: New Vegas, which took us through the Mojave, while the new game will focus on Boston and its surroundings.

15 Cartoon Characters Looking Their Real Age

Bug & Lola Bunny

Cartoon characters like Bugs Bunny and Mickey Mouse are ageless, timeless, forever young. However, imagining them looking like their real age (according to the year they were created in) results in some interesting, maybe even disturbing imagery.

Bugs & Lola Bunny

This isn’t completely accurate. Bugs Bunny has been around since the 30’s, but Lola Bunny was only introduced in 1996 for the movie Space Jam. But it’s kinda cool thinking about them as an old couple.

Goofy

Daffy Duck

It’s hard to think of a cartoon character that is a better fit to the ‘Grumpy old man’ persona quite like Daffy.

Porky Pig

Rocking it Jack Nicholson style.

Daisy Duck

Tom & Jerry

At some point, you get too old to keep running around.

Donald Duck

Never imagined him as a smoker.

Tweety & Sylvester

Road Runner & Wile E. Coyote

MIckey & Minnie

She probably went to a really good plastic surgeon.

This is all from the mind of Andrew Tarusov, a wonderful artist who you can support by pledging or simply buying his awesome stuff.

13 Superheroes in Their Dog Version

Spider Man Dog

Dogs are the best beings on this planet, so wouldn’t Superheroes, specifically Marvel’s, look a lot better as their dog-selves? Josh Lynch makes the magic happen.

Wolverine

Alcoholic mutt.

Spider-Man

Sadly, the Spidey suit can only cover a part of his body.

Iron Man

He’s got a lot of swag.

Hulk

Green makes him look ill.

Cyclops

That’s one awesome looking dog.

Thor

It’s probably hard swinging that hammer with no hands, but at least he’s worthy.

Doctor Strange

Weird, he doesn’t look magical.

Doctor Octopus

It’s easier finding food that way.

Ghost Rider

Dog from hell.

Mister Fantastic

The perfect stretchy kind.

Galactus & the Silver Surfer

It’s difficult being a god.

Silver Surfer

Being a herald seems even more depressing.

M.O.D.O.K

Rock bottom.

People sometimes are inspired by video games so much they get tattoos of them. Like these, without focusing on a certain franchise. If you want to be more specific, check out people who can’t get enough of Tetris, or these fans of Nintendo.
