Say Bye to the Bus and Hello to Android

android_01

Designer Sagan Park explores what we might expect if Android took a stab at the automotive industry. The autonomous vehicle aims to make city commuting a cinch by providing an all-access pass to subscribers who can utilize the system at central hubs located throughout the city.

A more personal answer to the city bus, it provides a private cabin with panoramic views. No loose change or physical passes required, users can order a car and input their destination all from the convince of their smartphone. Not only limited to users with cell phones, any individual can access the system from the scattered Android smart hubs. Inside, the minimalistic interior provides utilitarian seating and tray tables for users who want to work on the go. With hop-on-hop-off lines running throughout the day, it aims to reinvent the way we consider getting around our cities.

OneDrive makes it easier to backup your desktop clutter

Microsoft rolled out a new OneDrive folder protection feature to its business users in June -- now it's available to regular users, too. The feature lets you choose which folders you want to automatically back up to Microsoft's cloud service -- deskt...

An Unrestrained Masterpiece

If there was ever such a thing as too pretty to drive, this might be it. The latest from Eadon Green’s iconic collection of vintage-inspired concepts, the Zeclat looks like it might be more at home in a museum than on the road.

The coupe’s curvaceous shape, reminiscent of 1930s aero cars like the Figoni or Chapron, are a nod to the dramatic design during the Art Deco period. However, its carbon-nano-composite paneled chassis, carbon fiber body shell, and a 6.2 liter V8 are anything but old-fashioned.

Though it might look as if it were designed to meander down a country road, its wide tires, robust stance, and engine roar say something entirely different. Its performance DNA is continued throughout the interior with an aggressive and sporty wrap-around cockpit clad in hand-stitched leather, carbon fiber, piano black gloss panels, and polished aluminum detailing.

An Awe-inspired Formula E

toyota_ftx_race_car_01

You know those concept cars that seem like an amalgamation of the very best parts of other designs, bringing together familiar fragments in a totally awesome way? Well… this isn’t one of those concept cars… because it’s entirely original! Called the Toyota FT-X, it’s fresh land in what is sometimes a sea of repetitiveness.

Inspired by nature, this electric hypercar’s look is a hybrid of highly-technical and organic. With this single-seaters aesthetic being so innovative, each of us is sure to see something different. To me, its front end feels proboscis-like or even similar to that of a shrew while the layered tail seems quite amphibian. What do you see? Let us know in the comments!

Va Va Vroom! Meet this Sexy E-Porsche

porsche_00

As you know, we love a far-out concept car more than anybody, however, it’s the realism of the Porsche 911 Mission E that we’re obsessing over. This exploration into an electric version of the 911, called the 911 Mission E, actually looks like something we might expect out of the Porsche house. While it mimics the frame and overall dimensions/shape of the classic 911, it also sports a few trends found in the e-automotive movement.

Enclosed fenders, scoopless side panels, and a covered nose are all aesthetic changes you won’t find in any petrol vehicles. This seamless new look is equally sporty as well as functional in terms of aerodynamics. Other interesting design notes include seemingly opaque windows and headlights. With its monocoque cladding, the aesthetic takes on a liquid yet no less aggressive look for the 911. Which version do you prefer?
