These animal toys are actually bath essentials for toddlers in disguise

At some point in time, getting toddlers to take a bath becomes almost like a battle instead of just a chore. This problem has given rise to many products that try to make bath time not only safer but also more enjoyable for kids, which also makes it less stressful for parents and guardians. A lot of these kid-friendly products, however, are often not planet-friendly, particularly with the use of plastic containers that get thrown out once they run empty. Sometimes, it doesn’t take too much to think of a win-win solution for both humans and the environment, and this product concept tries to do exactly that with an eco-friendly shampoo and bath packaging that you don’t have to throw away anymore.

Designer: Monica Bhyrappa

Truth be told, packaging for bath essentials for kids like shampoo and soap are more concerned about safety than looking attractive. In fact, it might even be too risky to make shampoo bottles and powder containers look fun to play with, precisely because of the dangers that the substances in them pose. With a little extra care, however, it might actually be possible to have safe products that are also fun to play with, which is what Bebo tries to accomplish.

Bebo is a line of bath essentials products for toddlers that pull double duty. They are, of course, primarily designed to be containers for personal hygiene products like shampoo, gel soap, powder, and lotion. At the same time, however, these containers come in interesting shapes that resemble specific animals. In other words, these containers can become toys that these same toddlers can play with once they’re no longer in use. Of course, they’re also designed so that kids don’t accidentally open them up or squeeze out their contents even when they’re playing with them during bath time.

Each member of the Bebo line has a specific design and a specific way to be used. The shampoo bottle, for example, is an elephant, and the circle that its trunk makes can be used as a bubble maker. The Giant Panda gel soap container is a squishy toy, while the Giraffe powder bottle can be used as a rattle. Last but not least, the Gorilla is a lotion dispenser that also functions as a Roly Poly, thanks to its appropriately disproportionate body.

The choice of these four animals isn’t by accident. They represent four dying species that are also easily translated into cute toys for young children. In this manner, Bebo tries to establish an emotional connection between kids and these animals, which could help raise awareness of these endangered animals when they finally grow up.

You Can’t Miss With These Stormtrooper Bath Fizzers

Sure, Stormtroopers might not be able to hit the broad side of a space barn with their blasters, but they do know cleanliness, as evidenced by their sparkling white armor. That’s why I only trust my baths to Stormtrooper Bath Fizzers from Mad Beauty. They’re guaranteed to get you clean and help you relax and forget about why you joined the Galactic Empire in the first place. What were you thinking?!

A $13 bag from FireBox contains six fizzers with cedar wood and lime fragrance (not what I imagined Stormtroopers smelled like, but whatever) and “fizz around your tub producing a marble of black and white.” That’s fun. Need an even darker side to bath time? No worries, Mad Beauty also makes Darth Vader bath fizzers that turn your water jet black. LIKE MY HEART. Just kidding, it’s grayish-brown.

Honestly, I’m more of a shower guy than a bath guy. I don’t know, just something about sitting in a pool of my own filth that kinda grosses me out. I’m sure they’re fine for other people; I just have a dirt cloud following me around that puts even Pig-Pen’s to shame.

At The Same Time concept body dryer hastens drying time in public bathrooms

Public bathhouses have long been a tradition in several cultures. Not many people who haven’t gone inside may understand its purpose but for those who know its significance, they may be thinking of ways on how to improve things around.

In modern times, there are public facilities and bathrooms found in gyms or swimming pools. People share a common bath area to clean and freshen up after working out or swimming. One of the more common problems is drying their bodies. While towels are created for such purposes, they may not be enough. Hairdryers may help but they also won’t be enough.

That is why body dryers are needed. Every part of the human body must be dry before wearing clean clothes and going out. This lessens moisture from the body to prevent any growth or reproduction of any germs or bacteria that may still be present in the body. As the skin is our first line of defense, it is important that it is kept clean and healthy. It can be done if the body is dry. Well, not the kind of dry that is bad to the skin—just dry after bathing. As you know, the skin still needs to be properly moisturized as it helps maintain radiant skin.

The problem of body drying can be solved with this concept dryer by South Korean Hayeong Lee. The ‘At the Same Time Body Dryer’ is an attempt to make public bath facilities more convenient, efficient, and fast. Speedy bathing and drying are possible with this concept body dryer as more can dry off at the same time.

The name alone tells us its unique selling point. The round square shape of the dryer allows four persons to stand and be dried off. The four parts are separated by an opaque transition that offers privacy. They may be facing each other but private parts are still covered.

The footrest in whole features concentric circles that provide a softer surface for the feet. The footrest is divided into four equal parts and each part can be removed for cleaning. The water doesn’t stay on the footrest as it drips.

Air volume can be set in three stages: 1,2, and 3. The wind temperature can be cool wind or warm wind. Depending on the strength of the air volume, the color indicator will change. To dry the entire body quickly, there are 16 fine holes where the air will come out, targetting different parts of the body including the armpits and lower body.

The dryer features air inlets. Each part has an air inlet to suck in air. The wind is then blown out through the air hole to finally dry the body. The At the Same Time Body Dryer also comes with four transparent screens. In the middle are a supporting pillar and a pillar cap. The screens’ opacity is created by a vertical pattern so you can’t be seen by the other people standing on the dryer.

This modular open-air pool can be disassembled and moved throughout Copenhagen’s harbor!

The Dyppezone is a modular, open-air bath that’s easily disassembled and movable throughout the harbor, bringing cold water basins in the winter and children’s pools in the summer.

If you live in a city with a body of water, chances are you’ve felt that spontaneous urge to just jump into the harbor or lake on a late walk for a night swim with friends. While the urge is strong, it’s typically not advised to take the plunge–water depths are unknown, no lifeguard is ever on duty, and the ‘swims’ usually just consist of treading. In Copenhagen, Maritime Architecture Studio unveiled the Dyppezone, a movable open-air bath that’s portable and modular by design.

The Dyppezone, located in Copenhagen’s harbor, comprises eight movable modules that easily attach to one another to form an octagonal pool in the middle of the harbor. When assembled together, the modules come together and form an adjustable bottom that can be raised or elongated according to varying needs and changing seasons.

With its adjustable bottom, Maritime Architecture Studio notes, “the Dyppezone can be used both as a children’s pool in the summer and as a cold water basin in the winter.”

While Copenhagen’s harbor is no stranger to permanent bathing zones, the Dyppezone differs from those structures with the modular structure that allows it to be disassembled, packaged, and transported easily around the harbor. Maritime Architecture Studio envisions the Dyppezone located either in existing bathing zones or in close proximity to harborside events with saunas set up on the quayside for use following the pool.

Bringing the urge to jump in the harbor to all city visitors and residents, Maritime Architecture Studio says that the Dyppezone is, “Free for use to all bathing Copenhageners who want a comfortable and safe way to swim in the harbor.”

Bathing Bad Bath Salts

bathing bad bath salts

That seems like a combination made in Hell. Bath salts are all the rage amongst the drug-consuming, face-eating scum of the Earth. Perhaps even more exciting is the fact that Breaking Bad is only three months away from returning to the tube, so it only makes sense to combine the excitement of one with the… allure of the other in a product that Walter White would surely approve of. Bathing Bad Bath Salts are “a blend of coarse and jumbo ancient salts and organic essential oils, which create a relaxing and rejuvenating bath time experience.” And if truly made in Albuquerque, New Mexico (as the label seems to indicate), we would be impressed enough to keep these around as a prop, and just not use them to even bathe in.

It’s £15 or roughly $23.
