Stormtrooper Bookends: Hopefully Better at Holding Books Than Aiming

Because if they can’t hit the broad side of a barn with their blasters, they should at least be good at something; these are the Stormtrooper Bookends made by Nemesis Now and available on Amazon (affiliate link). Congratulations, you two; based on your inability to hit even a single rebel on Endor, you’re on book detail from now on. Try not to screw this up too, or it’s the garbage compactor for you.

The officially licensed bookends are cast in resin, hand-painted, and stand approximately 7.5″ tall. They feature the likeness of two stormtroopers trying their hardest to keep your books upright and avoid the inevitable Force choke from Vader if they fail. That’s a lot of pressure.

I think these stormtroopers will compliment your existing AT-AT bookends nicely. And you do already own a set of those, right? Who doesn’t? Granted, I don’t own any books and use them as napkin holders, but I’ve always been more of an eater than a reader.

These Ceramic Bookends Look Like More Books

If you like to read, you probably have at least a few books lying around and not neatly placed on bookshelves. There are lots and lots of choices for bookends to keep them tidy, but I really like the idea of these bookends that look like books.

These fun Bibliophile Bookends were created by illustrator and shop owner Jane Mount for Chronicle Books. They’re great because no matter what books you have in your collection, you’ll automatically end up with classics like Moby Dick, Jane Eyre, A Tale of Two Cities, and Pride & Prejudice. Since they’re made from ceramic, they’ve got plenty of weight, which is of critical importance when it comes to bookends. After all, you don’t want them sliding around when you put books in between them.

The Bibliophile Bookends are available for $60 a set from Chronicle Books, though you might be able to find them for less on Amazon. If you love Jane’s art style, check out her book Bibliophile, which is a fantastic compilation of art and information about classic books, and some of the greatest bookstores to find them in. It also makes a great companion gift if you’re thinking of giving the bookends to a booklover on your shopping list.

Terminator T-800 Hand Tankard and Bookends: Cyberdyne Collectibles

You’ve seen the trailer for the latest Terminator movie, now check out these Terminator T-800 hand tankards and split head bookends from Merchoid. The Terminator is back, and this time he’s coming after your wallet.

Both are cast in resin and are hand painted to look like metal. The tankard even has a washable stainless steel insert for easy cleaning. They also both include the Cyberdyne Systems logo. That tankard looks pretty hefty and those bookends are going to look amazing on your shelf. It’s like owning some genuine Terminator parts.

I bet this is just another Skynet scheme to get into your home and take over, then end the world as we know it. Maybe that hand is going to come to life and start crawling around your house while the skull bookends vocally help it navigate. That hand is gonna make a mess of your house.

But here’s the thing. All of these mugs and bookends will all activate at once. Here’s the other thing. There are more parts out there and they are all gonna come together like a bunch of Voltrons and kill us all.

Rick and Morty Portal Bookends: Shumshumschilpiddydah!

They say that books are portals into other worlds, and that’s actually very true. You might say that books are our very own portal gun. So these Rick and Morty Portal Bookends are the perfect way to keep your books upright. Sadly they won’t insert Rick and Morty into your favorite books as if they had been there the whole time, but they will look awesome on your bookshelf.

You can get this set from Boxlunch for about $48. These bookends show the dysfunctional duo entering and exiting a portal in a hurry. Which alternate dimension will they find themselves in? No one knows.

You need these on your bookshelf. Besides what else do you have to do while we are all waiting for the next season of the show? Might as well get yourself a cool set of bookends. Wait. I just thought of something. These guys better not put holes in my books while they run through. If I can’t read my Book of Beer Pong, I’m gonna be pissed.

These AT-AT Bookends Won’t Fall Over with a Tow Cable

While the Imperial AT-AT Walker was designed as a war machine on legs, it really ended up being quite a flop due to its fatal design flaws. That said, AT-ATs do make pretty cute pets, if you housebreak them. They also work great as bookends if you cut them in twain.

These fun AT-AT bookends come courtesy of MokuShop, and are made from 24 pieces of hand-assembled, laser-cut and engraved wood. They look great painted up in metallic silver (shown above), or left alone as natural wood. They also recommend attaching a leash to them, so the dark lord can command the walker to follow wherever he goes.

They come in two different sizes – 6″ x 5″ x 5″ and 8″ x 5″ x 5″, and sell for $55 to $65 unpainted, or $75 to $85 painted.

Rogue One AT-ACT Bookends Defend Your Library

Being a child of the ’80s, I had a fully-decorated Star Wars bedroom for much of my youth. I was well known for buying cereal for the toys and joining book clubs just for the gifts and prizes. This is how I came by my Disney bookends that looked like Snow White’s castle. I’d have joined any book club out there that gave me an awesome Star Wars bookend set like this one.

This particular set of bookends is based on one of the AT-ACT walkers stomping down the beach in Rogue One. The AT-ACT is a larger version of the AT-AT we all know and love from Hoth. I wonder if the AT-ACT is as prone to death by tow cable as the AT-AT.

The set is available for pre-order for $239.99(USD) from Entertainment Earth, and is expected to ship starting in January 2018.

Captain Kirk Bookends: Bridge to Library

James T. Kirk. He’s a hero. A legend. He’s captain of the starship Enterprise. And now he wants to hold up your books. Is there anything this man can not do?

He is sitting in his chair looking thoughtful as usual, but ready for action. If anyone tries to mess with your books they are going to get a phaser blast to the face. Make sure you include some Shakespeare and a copy of A Tale of Two Cities. Kirk loves that stuff.

This awesome bookend measures 10-inches tall and is limited to just 500 pieces worldwide. He will cost you $114.99(USD) from Entertainment Earth. He will gladly hold up all of your books, DVDs, or whatever.

Batman Bookends: Library of Comics

Your kids will love these cool Batman bookends. Adults will love them too. They’ve got a library sign on one side, and Batman reading on the other. He’s probably trying to figure out how to fix the Batmobile – reading a Chilton’s guide or something. Or maybe he’s reading one of his own comic book issues.

The point is that even Batman, busy as he is, can stop to read a book once in a while. How do you think he became such a great detective? These bookends were made by Etsy seller Design Atelier Article and are laser cut from black metal. Each piece measures 7.3″ tall x 3.7″ wide x 3.9″ deep, and a pair sells for $64(USD).

They will look great in your own Batcave.

Game of Thrones Bookend: The Price of the Iron Throne? $55.

There is only one seat worth fighting for in all of Westeros, therefore you only need one Game of Thrones Bookend. You can support your books on the other side by using your wall – not THE wall.

The base of this bookend even features the crests of 14 houses and it weighs a hefty 4 lbs. It is a nice solid piece that will keep your books all in one place and safe as well as organized.

I would make my action figures fight for the honor of sitting on the throne and guarding my books. You can get it for $54.99(USD) from ThinkGeek. Or you could pay the iron price instead.
