Supreme and The North Face collaborate to reimagine the popular G-Shock DW-6900 in vivid colors

G-Shock has some memorable collections but there are a few that compete with the unforgettable DW-6900 series, which with its debut in 1995 instilled a dramatic shift from the square shape of the original DW-5000 series. The rounded form factor of the 6900 has been a fan favorite ever since. It is little surprise then that streetwear brand Supreme and The North Face have collaborated with G-Shock to reimagine the popular DW-6900 in a slew of vivid colors.

It’s not the first collaborative outing for Supreme and The North Face; the three-way collaborative relationship is however a novel one for Casio G-SHOCK and its fans. The new G-Shock DW-6900s will be available as part of the Supreme and The North Face Fall 2022 collection starting November 25.

Designer: Supreme, The North Face and G-Shock

Dubbed Supreme x The North Face x G-Shock DW-6900 models are available in white, yellow, and black color options. Each of these variants is attached to a nylon and Velcro band. The band is embroidered with Supreme and The North Face logos. The North Face branding also appears on the face of the watches while the Supreme box logo makes an appearance on the EL backlight when activated.

The collaborative timepiece magnifies creativity with the bezel, dial, and watch casing available in a wide array of colors. It comes with an interesting choice of band material that diversifies the DW-6900 design language to engross streetwear and outdoor enthusiasts in the same breath. Retaining the prowess and dynamism of the G-Shock brand, the collaborative DW-6900 watches will be available in Supreme stores. These will be available in the US starting November 25 while they will begin retailing in Japan from November 26.

A pair of G-Shock watches arrive in blazing solar flare-theme to celebrate 40th anniversary of the brand

Haute Horlogerie is a synonym with Casio today. But when the watchmaker started out in the 1970s, it was known for its delicate line of timepieces, long until 1983 when it launched the shock-resistant G-Shock line-up. Now that the watch series, an epitome of toughness, celebrates its 40th anniversary in 2023; the build-up to the celebrations has already begun with the introduction of two scintillating Flare Red G-Shock watches.

The two special edition Flare Red G-Shock watches – MTGB3000FR and GWG2040FR – are the complimentary combination of rose gold and black IP coating on all metal parts to achieve a delightful solar flare-inspired pattern. The blazing solar flare theme is the main facet of the MTGB3000FR and GWG2040FR, which is figuratively an outcome of the toughness and dynamic energy radiated by these G-Shock watches.

Both the MTGB3000FR and GWG2040FR are available in multicolored bezel layered with carbon and colored fiberglass for the blazing red color. The latter is a new technique to laminate carbon with colored glass fiber mixed with phosphorescent material for a glow-in-the-dark effect. The pattern of putting the bezel through so much hard work means each timepiece is unique and no two such G-Shock watches look alike.

Interestingly, the MTGB3000FR is more than a shatterproof timepiece, the watch is equipped with Bluetooth connectivity. It syncs with the Casio Watches app to adjust the time automatically or kick off the phone finder, in addition to doing a range of other signature G-Shock tricks. GWG2040FR is not a connected option but it comes with dust and mud resistance and has a thermometer.

The enticing red front of the watches is complemented by the case back engraved with the Eric Haze-designed logo commemorating G-Shock’s 40th anniversary. Both the MTGB3000FR and GWG2040FR timepieces are 200m water resistant and feature Tough Solar Power. The cool watches are available for $1,300 and $1,100 respectively.

This LEGO G-Shock Mudmaster looks just about as realistic as the original

It’s proportionally accurate, has a stunningly realistic dial, and can even be worn on your wrist. The LEGO G-Shock Mudmaster comes with a display stand and even has a set of interchangeable straps, all made out of LEGO bricks. In fact, the only thing this timepiece can’t do is tell the time… but then again, is it even supposed to?!

Modeled after a timepiece from one of the most iconic rugged wristwatch brands, this G-Shock Mudmaster will most likely fool you into thinking it’s the real deal. You see, the LEGO brick’s inherent chunky, blocky design lends exceptionally well to the G-Shock’s rugged brand language. The design comes from the mind of LEGO Builder Pedro Jimenez, who submitted this concept to the LEGO Ideas forum where it’s currently racking up votes in a bid to turn the one-off build into a readily available LEGO box set.

Designer: Pedro Jimenez

The LEGO G-Shock Mudmaster is unshakeable proof that with just the right LEGO bricks, you can build just about anything, from a functioning orrery to even a lawnmower. Although Pedro hasn’t specified how many bricks it takes to build the Mudmaster, it looks fairly complicated compared to average LEGO builds and even comes with a glass cover, a realistic dial with hands, a digital screen sitting at the 6 o’clock position, and all the text and branding needed to convince even the toughest of critics.

Along with the watch, Pedro even built out a plastic stand that lets you put your timepiece on full display. From afar, it’s practically indistinguishable from the real deal!

At just over 1000 votes, Pedro is slowly inching towards the 10K vote margin required for LEGO to consider the fan-made build for retail. To be honest, this is one of the more impressive LEGO MOCs (My Own Creation) I’ve ever seen. It isn’t often that you come across something so stunningly realistic. I mean, the watch even comes with its own set of replaceable straps! (and for all intents and purposes, this one is probably insanely waterproof too…)

Casio G-Shock GAB2100 is the perfect follow-up with solar power, extra functions

Casio G-Shock GAB2100-1A Features

Casio is a brand that has an excellent reputation in the watch industry. It remains a leader in the field of professional and personal timepieces that deliver both impressive form and function.

One major reason why it continues to be a best-selling brand is because of the relative affordability of the watches. Casio can’t really be considered a house of luxury watches, but there are a few models that are worthy of being collected. There are some Casio watches too that are worth a second look, especially since they were designed with unique features and distinct characteristics. The last one we remember featuring that made nerds drool was the Casio A100WEPC Pac-Man edition watch. Today, a follow-up to an iconic model becomes available and is ready with additional features.

Designer: Casio

Casio G-Shock GAB2100-1A

This time, we’re sharing with you this potential must-have—the Casio G-Shock GAB2100. It’s an analog-digital solar-powered watch that can do more than just keep yourself in time. This one runs on stable solar power so you are guaranteed a watch that won’t just die.

Casio G-Shock GAB2100-9A

Casio’s new GAB2100 series is mainly a follow-up to the analog-digital GA2100 series. It delivers Bluetooth connectivity and Tough Solar capabilities. More functions are ready, too, as made possible by the optimized structure of the interior, allowing more components to be added.

Casio G-Shock GAB2100-1A Design

Casio has kept the octagonal shape from the very first G-SHOCK watch decades ago. The iconic form is reused here for that retro look that we know will last forever. The sleek design of the new G-Shock piece is also minimalist, so it doesn’t appear bulky or overwhelming. Furthermore, this model is great because it comes with a carbon-fiber-reinforced resin case. The carbon fiber material is what mainly makes the watch compact and lightweight.

Casio G-Shock GAB2100-3A

Casio G-Shock GAB2100-2A

The retro styling is overshadowed by the fact that the watch comes with Tough Solar power and Smartphone Link features. The Tough Solar features work, thanks to the film-like solar panel found on the dial. It is highly resilient and can convert power from the sun. Actually, it doesn’t really need the sun to work as regular light sources are enough to power up the watch.

Casio G-Shock GAB2100-1A Specs

The Casio G-Shock GA2100 comes in different colors: Black, Green, Yellow, and Navy. The four color options were also the first colors the company released for the G-Shock line. Just like the original model, this one offers a similar fit as made possible by the Carbon Core Guard structure. As with most G-Shock pieces, this one comes with the standard G-Shock features: shock resistance, a 200M water resistance, daily five alarms, super illuminator double LED light, full auto-calendar, 1-sec countdown timer, world time, and a hand shift feature.

CasiMod Nuclear Royale is a tougher-looking custom Casio AE1200 mod

Casio AE1200 Nuclear Royale Announcement

The name of this watch may be a trigger for many people, especially those watching what’s been happening in Ukraine, but it is just a nickname for a regular watch. CasiMods have redesigned the Casio AE1200 and we are in awe at the effort the designer put into it.

The classic Casio Royale model has been customized by Benson C. He has been spending time working on digital watch modifications and finds joy in coming up with unique watch designs. Benson has been saying he is knee-deep in watch modifications, and we can clearly see that in the Nuclear Royale.

Designer: Benson C of CasiMods

The Casio Nuclear Royale comes with details that are very technical and industrial. The base watch’s aesthetics get some oomph with the addition of the nuclear symbol. Of course, it may not be the best time to be flaunting such a sign, but we’re just looking at this post-apocalyptic design as just another watch to own.

The watch is CasiMods’ 8th project, so you can see the 008 on top of the watch surface. Some of the modifications the designer made include the addition of metal screws and the nuclear sign. In addition, there is a red dot on the map plus a grid window overlay. Notice the minor weather for added effect, which is also evident on the custom zulu strap.

The Nuclear Royale will not tell you when it is time for doomsday. It will just tell you that it’s time to get moving or work on that task you’ve been putting off to do. Whatever that is, we just hope you finish before the deadline. Your work shouldn’t slow down even if the world seems to be getting crueler each passing day.

The designer of the watch, Benson, has been modding watches since 2018. He began with watch modding with mechanical watches but had since been doing digital watch modifications. He is now on his 8th mod after embracing the beauty of digital watches and the fact you can do more with them compared to mechanical watches.

Benson has always been interested in different designs, including minimalist, technical, retro-futuristic, and military. He implements those designs in different watches, as seen on other versions of the Casio AE1200, including The Greens and The Mountaineer. You see, there are other Casio Modding enthusiasts, so the Nuclear Royale definitely has an audience.

The designer uses dramatic and animated aesthetics for the digital watches as they are easy to apply. He also implements weathering and ads more hardware for effect. To goal of this Casion modder is to deliver wearable watches that have their character.

Casio AE1200 Nuclear Royale Design

To review, the base model is a Casio AE1200. It is a basic digital watch that offers world time and an LED light with Afterglow. It comes in a plastic body with an LCD. It is a multifunction watch with a battery life that can last up to ten years. It is not a rugged watch like the G-Shock but is ready for rough use. It also offers a 100m water resistance, so the watch can stay safe underwater if you drop it or if you’re diving.

Casio often revives the classics with modern versions. While the Nuclear Royale isn’t an official product from Casio, it certainly commands attention. The watch can stimulate your imagination as the theme is relevant these days. We are not anticipating World War III, but with this watch, you can probably contemplate what’s been happening. We know we can only do so much, but we can start helping by not being apathetic and unaware of social issues.

Casio AE1200 Nuclear Royale Prototype

Custom Casio watches are nothing new, but we find them more interesting these days. It doesn’t have to be expensive or shine like a diamond for a watch to stand out. It only needs to look different from those you see in the market.

Casio watches are not that expensive, so you can do anything you want with them. We remember that quirky Casio Vintage Pac-Man Edition Watch and the Casio concept that arrived with a removable face dial. Only true blue watch collectors may understand the hype, but there is something more special about owning timepieces that you cannot find anywhere else. Good thing there is CasioMods for designs you won’t usually see anywhere else.

Casio’s vintage Pac-Man edition watch is just quirky enough to be a great memorabilia!

Who can forget the sound of the Pack-Man chomping down on the pellets (or cookies) while avoiding the colored ghosts? Hours would feel like minutes playing the title in the good ol’ childhood days. Even to date, the arcade game is legendary in terms of how it influenced our lives and shaped the era of the gaming industry as a whole. To bring back nostalgic memories of the golden times where arcade games were all the rage, Casio has joined forces with Bandai Namco to create a timepiece that’s got a lot of history associated with it. In fact, Casio has revived the memories of their own classic watch from 1978 which was worn by Ellen Ripley and other characters in the movie Alien, back then. Yes, I’m talking about the F-100 digital watch that’s now got a Pak-Man influence in a big way thanks to this collaboration!

It’s like a match made in heaven where two classics fuse to bring a modern-day timepiece to life in a playful design inspired by the world of arcade gaming. I bet you nerds are going to drool all over the Casio A100WEPC Pac-Man edition watch with the golden dial emulating the game cabinet and the Illuminator text (right below the old school time display) resembling the Pac-Man’s pixelated font! The same theme follows down to the classic matte black stainless steel strap which has the Pack-Man’s in-game motifs etched on it. One can’t help but notice the ghosts chasing the Pack-Man and vice-versa when the hero gobbles down the fruits to turn them blue for a feast. Not surprisingly, the case back follows suit with the classic in-game screen etched into the stainless steel covering.

This special edition Casio watch comes with an equally iconic packaging with all the game logos, characters and gameplay perfectly emulated on all sides. Thus far, there is no word on the availability of the Casio A100WEPC Pac-Man edition watch, but the product page does mention the pricing to be 12,100 Japanese Yen (approximately $113). Nonetheless, watch collectors who are big-time Pack-Man fans will want to add this to their collection ultimately when it arrives!

Casio G-SHOCK Avengers Watch Collection: Time Assemble!

If you feel like you need more Avengers in your life after Endgame, Casio has your back. I mean your wrist. As long as you are in China anyway. I’m not sure why this isn’t happening in the US. Hey, we love the Avengers here.

The official Casio G-SHOCK Avengers Collection consists of three custom Avengers-themed G-SHOCK timepieces, each inspired by the most iconic superheroes of the team like Captain America, Iron Man, and Spider-Man. The top three, baby!

Each watch has the colors synonymous to the character but they also have printed details on the straps too, and a character logo engraved on the case back. And each has custom packaging too. Captain America and Iron Man are the GA-110 model each in their own respective colors, while Spidey is based on the DW-5600 model.

The Casio G-Shock Avengers Collection can be found at G-Shock Store Shanghai and G-Shock Store Beijing where Cap and Iron Man go for 1,590 yuan each (~$230 USD), while Spidey sells for 1,190 yuan (~$172 USD). These watches look damn good. This is likely to be a highly collectible line of watches, so if you can get one imported from China, you should go for it.

CASIO G-SHOCK Gundam Collection Puts a Mech on Your Wrist

Gundam fans have some sweet new collectables, and they look amazing. This collection of Gundam-themed G-SHOCK watches from CASIO are made to celebrate Gundam’s 40th anniversary. Can you believe the mech franchise been around for four decades?

There are four watches in the series, each with colors and designs inspired by Gundam, including RX-78-2 Gundam, MS-06S Char’s Zaku II, RX-0 Unicorn Gundam, and RX-0 Unicorn Gundam 02 Banshee.

Aside from good looks, each of these watches comes with a “Haro” storage container with the RX-78-2 Gundam, RX-0 Unicorn Gundam, and RX-0 Unicorn Gundam 02 Banshee in Green Haro while Char’s Zaku in Zaku Red Haro storage. In case you didn’t know, “Haro” is the ball-like robot that can transform from ball to robot.

The Casio G-SHOCK x Gundam Collection will be available on CASIO’s China ecommerce store on Taobao in mid-2019. The RX-78-2 is 1,390 yuan (~$207 USD), Char’s Zaku II is 1,090 yuan ($163 USD), RX-0 Unicorn Gundam is 1,090 yuan (~$163 USD) and the Banshee is 1,690 yuan (~$252 USD).

Aside from looking way cooler, these watches are pretty much the same G-SHOCKs you know already, with all the same features and functionality.

This Casio G-Shock Watch Transforms into Optimus Prime

Japanese toy maker Takara Tomy has teamed up with Casio to make a very cool watch and watch holder combo. Casio Japan has introduced this special edition G-Shock x Transformers DW-6900TF and it is amazing. This set is being released to celebrate 35 years of G-Shock and the 35th anniversary of Transformers in 2019.

You get a watch with Optimus Prime’s color scheme of red and blue, along with a transformable Optimus Prime figure that doubles as a watch holder. I mean, just look at how cool this thing is. The watch displays in either “pedestal” mode or in robot form. Or you can wear it. The G-Shock 5600 or 6900 also fits in the watch holder too.

The G-Shock x Transformers DW-6900TF-SET will be officially available on December 8, 2018 for 29,000 yen before tax (~$257 USD). I’m hoping they offer some other Transformers watch sets as well. This one is really damn cool. I wouldn’t mind having a few of these lined up on my desk.

The bad news? Well, sadly this is a Japan-only deal. I know. I’m depressed too. Why do they always get me so excited and then pull the Japan-exclusive crap on me? It’s so mean. It’s abuse really. America deserves this too you know.
