CAT-CAT: A Star Wars AT-AT Inspired Cat Condo

Because most people’s cats live better lives than I do, do-it-yourselfer Whitney Fabre constructed the CAT-CAT, an AT-AT-inspired cat condo. She built the condo for her feline friend, Captain Jack Harkness, who was named after the Doctor Who character. Why she didn’t build a TARDIS cat house instead is anybody’s guess.

For those of you interesting in building your own CAT-CAT, Whitney was kind enough to create an Instructable, so you can follow the directions and, provided you have the skills and supplies, wind up with something similar and not just a dangerous pile of wood scrap and nails like I did. But you know what they say: The best-laid plans of mice and men often go awry. And the worst-laid plans like mine almost always go awry.

There’s no question it’s a fine-looking cat condo. But even if I was able to successfully construct one, would my cat play in it or purposefully ignore it to spite me for all the time and effort I put into building it? Here, let me give you a hint: We named him Spiteful Bill for a reason.

DIY Cardboard Cat Ark Will Save Only Kitties from the Great Flood

This crazy cat house was made by Prefabcat for a cat named Dinni. Since it is an ark, I’m assuming it was designed and built with God’s help, in order to spare cat-kind from an upcoming flood, but I may be wrong. Everyone knows that cats are the only ones worth saving, at least according to cats.

Basically, this thing was built from a bunch of heavy duty cardboard, a hot glue gun, and some bread and craft knives. There’s nothing high-tech about it, but take one look at it and you know that cats love it. It has ramps, pull-out step shelves, windows, even a monster head balcony.

The video suggests that Dinni is really enjoying the ark. Now they just need one more kitty to help repopulate the new world.

At Last, A Voltron Cat Condo

Let your cats assemble into one crazy giant cat to fight evildoers throughout the universe with this Voltron Cat Condo. This thing stands almost six feet tall, and once your cats get in it, you will learn to fear your cats and obey every meow.

This awesome cat condo includes 8 fleece-covered play tunnels that make up the arms and legs plus the head and chest pieces. You will believe that several kitties together can fly. And shoot lasers and stuff. This is the best cat condo ever.

It’s too bad we can’t really buy it since it is yet another April Fools joke from Thinkgeek, but I’m hoping they make this one a reality someday. My cat is looking forward to it.

Titanic Cat Condo: I’m Purring Jack!

They told Fluffy that it was unsinkable, but nope, this Titanic Cat Condo has hit an iceberg and is sinking very slowly into the carpet. Now poor Fluffy has to wait for all of those women and children to get a lifeboat.

Captain Whiskers hit an iceberg and now the good ship and mew are going down. I’m sure that history will show that he was high on catnip and distracted by a ball of string. While the ship sank, the band played on, chasing laser pointers, not playing instruments.

This cat condo from the Hollywood Kitty Company is six feet long, four feet tall, and has three interior levels. Your cat can get in through six port holes, oen deck hole, and a gash along the underside thanks to that iceberg. Oh, and it will cost you $2,000(USD).

AT-AT Cat Condo Begs to Be Taken Down by a Ball of String

I’m not sure how many cats are Star Wars fans, but if your cat loves the movies, I bet he/she wishes that this was in their living room. Just look at that thing. It was made for cats to play in, but I want to play in it too.

Billy Appletini is that kind of friend. One of his friends is a Star Wars fan who has two cats, so he made this for them. That’s going way beyond the call of duty and makes Billy an amazingly awesome guy. It took him about a month to build it. And yes it is appropriately called a CAT-AT.

On the inside you’ll find some fake mounted bird heads and a little mini bar. These cats have it all now. I can’t wait for them to bat a ball of yarn around it’s legs and take this CAT-AT down.
