This prosthetic leg grows with your child!

Prosthetics are expensive and if you have you start using them when you are young, it is an exponential cost that keeps increasing as you grow. It is not convinient or affordable to keep getting new prosthetics, so designer Snezana Jeremic has come up with a concept that grows with you! Ring is an adjustable, custom-made prosthetic leg designed specifically for transtibial amputee children in developing countries to help reduce costs while bettering their quality of life.

The conceptual prosthetic leg aims to make the otherwise rigid medical equipment more flexible especially to fit seamlessly in the life of a growing child. The user will wear the leg and it can be adjusted it as they grow to make sure the fit is always optimal and comfortable. “Ring achieves this thanks to an adjustable foot portion to ensure an optimal stride as well as the upper portion that can be paired with additional rings to suit the person’s body as they grow and develop,” says Jeremic.

Ring is a conversation starter that addresses the need for more modular healthcare equipment. Prosthetics like these make sure that individuals don’t need a whole new device every time they have a growth spurt!

This aromatherapy diffuser’s interchangeable magnetic ears transform it into different animals!

You can call me a fan of Fulden Dehneli’s work because everything she has designed so far always has a personal story or deeper meaning apart from improved functionality. Her designs, be it TV or a face mask, always leave you feeling good and the latest one to evoke that emotion is BOOP – an aromatherapy oil diffuser that has been specifically made for kids!

When you hear the word ‘boop’ you would usually associate it with a gentle, swift touch on the nose. The oil diffuser was called so because Dehneli wanted it to embody that ‘boop’ feeling in a physical product that made you feel as if someone gave you a loving pat. Aromatherapy is a proven natural solution to create a healthy environment while enhancing the mood. It adds to the ambiance while soothing the nervous system with the essential oil blend. Aromatherapy is known to induce calm, reduce discomfort, and promote good sleep for every user but usually, the diffusers’ aesthetics are chosen for grown-ups. This product combines an oil diffuser with a white noise machine for a more multidimensional effect.

The oil diffuser features interchangeable magnetic ear and nose parts so children can easily transform it into a cuddly bear, a sweet bunny, or a playful fox within seconds. This little modular detail lets little ones come up with their own stories and form a bond with a product – it’s as simple as “This is mine, this stays in my room, this is not my mom’s thing,” which inculcates a sense of personal space as well. Its friendly form, calming sound selections, and the gentle glowing light in the belly add to the warmth of the product. BOOP aims to make kids feel comfortable and protected by giving them something that kickstarts their own self-care routine early on.

A finalist in the 2015 Electrolux Design Lab competition, Plato is a far-out concept that helps parents in almost every step of newborn childcare. Inspired by platonic solids and their concise forms, changing the arrangement of cubes into 5 distinct shapes also changes the function of the unit as a whole. With one shift of the shape, users can toggle between baby monitor, security, bottle sterilization, entertainment, developmental toy modes and more.

Octa: Robotic video baby monitor. Moves by four cords (spidercam mechanism), glows in the dark, plays music, projects image onto the ceiling.

Docon: Developmental robotic toy. It helps the child to learn how to know the world through tactile, visual and auditory sensations. Moves by inflating cushions that push the segments of planar faces.

Cuon: Training robot guard. Helps parents observe the child at home and on the street while also assisting in various training. If it falls it can turn due to built-in flywheels (similar scheme Cubli).

Set Ico: Bico and Hico, are a single unit. Bico. Tub for baby. Equipped with supporting grid and a water filtration system. Hico. Cradle. Equipped with an orthopedic mattress and exterior lighting panels. Changing mat is transformed from the cover. Interior panels are upholstered with soft material.

Tetra: Sterilizer for baby bottles and pacifier. Sterilization takes place by means of UV radiation.
