The whale-inspired design of this sparkling water maker is a connoisseur’s delight!

I haven’t had much experience with carbonated water, but I know there are those who love sipping on some sparkling water! Designed by Bokyeong Lee and Chunghee Joe, the Ocean Blast is a carbonated water maker concept. It’s been inspired by the form of a whale, or more specifically, inspired by the phenomenon of a whale rising out of the water to breathe, and expelling air through its blowhole, allowing any water vapor to condense and creating what looks like a white spray of water.

Interestingly, Ocean Blast looks exactly like the belly of a whale. Soft lines and ridges on the product increase the similarity to the body of a whale. You slide and open the carbonated water machine, and slip in the carbonate-filled cylinder. You then place the dedicated water bottle on the tray and tap the Power button on the touch screen. You can adjust how carbonated you want your water to be via the touch screen itself. Sparkling water is then prepared depending upon on how bubbly you want it to be!

Ocean Blast’s unique form eliminates the need for an external nozzle. Nozzles can get contaminated on exposure to the air, so it’s always a task to keep them clean. Also, it’s difficult to control the amount of water prepared when there’s an external nozzle. But the docking section of Ocean Blast with its hidden nozzle makes bubbling up your water super easy. I don’t know how often we will have a need for carbonated water, but we must admit the whale-like form of Ocean Blast is pretty intriguing!

Cable Control You Can Count On!

cubby_00

Earlier today, I looked down at my workspace and realized I was literally covered in devices. 2 phones, a tablet, a laptop and all the cables and chargers that go along with each. So much for being “portable” because juggling all this junk is a job in itself. If only I had the cleverly designed Cubby!

It eliminates the need for multiple cumbersome cords and power adapters by integrating a form of each in one convenient, compact unit. A single cable powers the hub which features a USB charging port, docking station for your phone, and laptop charging input terminal. This way, you can rest assure you’ll always have the proper equipment to stay charged and uninterrupted. Better yet, it all folds up nicely into a tight, sealed compartment that you can throw in a bag and go!

Stir-fry for Dummies

Print

The latest in a trend of task-specific appliances, Taurus is designed for stir-fry fanatics and is the first of its kind! Just as the name of the action suggests, stir-frying requires a great deal of attention. Taurus eliminates the need to continuously stir the ingredients by integrating an automatic stir feature. This way, users can add their ingredients, set it to cook, and concentrate on other kitchen tasks. Using a smartphone or the intuitive device interface, users can choose from a variety of food and preset cooking modes to ensure their specified dishes are just right each time.

Functionally speaking, the stir fryer simply houses a rotisserie style motor on the top that powers an implement, that stirs the vegetables slowly and surely. It’s the aesthetic however that should be the point of interest. An absolutely new product category should have a radically new form factor to help it differentiate from other appliances. While the Taurus certainly looks incredibly premium, with the brushed metal + jet black finish, it outwardly looks too much (and can get easily mistaken for) a rice cooker… which I don’t need to tell you, isn’t a good thing for an innovative, new product!
