Heinz Fry Spoonz: For Maximum Ketchup Load

Some people believe french fries are just a vehicle to get ketchup to your mouth. My dad is one of those people. And in news that’s sure to make his day – then ruin it when he realizes you have to be a UK resident to enter – Heinz is giving away free Fry Spoonz to lucky participants in its National Fry Day contest (available to enter HERE). Well, it looks like we’ll just have to make our own, dad.

Fry Spoonz are made entirely out of potatoes and resemble the shape of a traditional spoon, allowing you to deposit insane amounts of ketchup into your mouth in a single scoop. My dad also puts ketchup on his potato chips and doesn’t actually eat the chips; he only sucks the ketchup off until the chips are soggy, so I can only imagine how wild he would go with these things. Definitely wild enough to not want to watch, that’s for sure.

Heinz Packet Roller Extracts Every Drop of Precious Ketchup

Ketchup: according to my dad it belongs on everything. He’s such a fan he’s thoroughly convinced potato chips were only invented as a vehicle to transport ketchup from a plate to a person’s mouth without making a mess. And now you can extract every precious drop of tomatoey goodness from a ketchup packet thanks to the Heinz Packet Roller keychain attachment. Fingers crossed it also works with Taco Bell Fire Sauce packets!

Operating like the similarly designed rollers for tubes of toothpaste, you just rip the end off a ketchup packet and roll it through the device, resting easy knowing you extracted every bit of ketchup possible. Waste not, want not – that’s my motto.

It’s the golden era of condiment packet extraction! These are truly exciting times we’re living in. Especially considering fast food restaurants regularly try to shortchange me in the packeted condiments department. At least I’ll know I made the most of what they did give me. Plus, now wait a minute, they forgot my nuggets!

Edible Food Seasoning Crayons: Flavoring Outside The Lines

Created by mother Nadia Lahrichi along with daughter and son team Veronique and Kamil, Food Crayons are edible, food seasoning sticks designed to be shaved onto dishes to add flavor. They sure bring back memories of kindergarten, don’t they? I always thought the reds and yellows tasted the best.

Single crayons cost around $15 (with the included sharpener) through the Food Crayon Etsy shop, with three-packs going for around $30, and come in a wide variety of flavors, including basil, chipotle, shallot, lemon, raspberry & balsamic, spicy mango, hot pepper and garlic, piña colada, black garlic, fig and balsamic, curry and turmeric, tomato and thyme, ginger, carrot orange ginger, lime, honey mustard, tangerine cinnamon, grapefruit and timut pepper, mushroom, and coconut yuzu. Am I going to gather as many crayons in my fist as I can and try to take a bite out of all the flavors at once? Can I call myself a foodie if I don’t?

Unfortunately for us purists, there isn’t any wax in the crayons, so you’ll have to shave an actual Crayola over your meal if that’s the flavor profile you’re trying to achieve. Although, based on the way my dinner guests all started spitting into their napkins as soon as they sampled the salad, I’m guessing their palates simply aren’t as refined as mine. Pass the glue stick?

Ketchup Flavored Candy Canes Are the Ultimate Christmas Condiment

Were you a good boy or girl this year? Doesn’t matter, 2020 has spoken and we’re all getting ketchup flavored candy canes for Christmas anyways. Created by Archie McPhee, a six-pack of “rich tomato flavor” ketchup candy canes costs $6.50 and is sure to be absent from every single Christmas list this year. But that doesn’t mean we aren’t getting them anyways!

I think my favorite part about these things is they look just like traditional candy canes, so you kids won’t realize Santa thought they were bad this year until it’s too late. Will I still sharpen the end of mine to a point and poke my brother in the leg with it until he tells on me? Well, it wouldn’t be Christmas if I didn’t, now would it? They’re called traditions after all.

So… are you thinking what I’m thinking? If it’s “I wonder what one of these would taste like melted on a hotdog” you are! And I, for one, plan on finding out. If it’s as delicious as I imagine, fingers crossed for spicy mustard and sauerkraut candy canes next year!
