Crime & Punishment Chile-Infused Beers Will Put Your Manliness To The Test

You can say you like beer, but if all you ever down is can after can of Bud Light, you don’t like beer; you like getting drunk. The more discerning aficionados tend to gravitate towards craft brews as they typically pack more taste and aroma than their mass produced corporate counterparts. On the scene since 1996, Stone Brewing company is known for their hop-heavy California-style brews. And now they’ve launched an intriguing duo of chile pepper-infused beers, called Crime and Punishment, which is based on some of their better selling current roster of beers. Here’s their description of what they’ve done:

Crime is Lukcy Basartd Ale (correct spelling -Ed.) (a blend of Arrogant Bastard Ale, Double Bastard Ale and OAKED Arrogant Bastard Ale) brewed with freshly harvested peppers and aged in bourbon barrels. Like a criminal act, this capsicum-laced temptation — brewed with jalapeños and black nagas, to name but a few — provides entrée into the seedy underbelly of Stone’s pepper-induced purgatory. Similarly, Punishment is 2013 Double Bastard Ale brewed with freshly harvested peppers and aged in bourbon barrels. Brutally hot and unyielding in its imposition, this intensely hellish spawn of Caribbean red hots, fatalis and Moruga scorpion peppers is a just dessert for any spice-taunting masochist who dares to engage it.

Craft beer, hot peppers, mouth melting heat? Sounds like a combination made for the more daunting among us. And we’re going to do everything we can to get our hands on some.
