A picture of the LG G4 emerges: is that a curved smartphone?

LG G4

We have a new round of leaks concerning the LG G4, of impending release this summer. This time around is a picture of what the phone will look like via a leak.

The next LG phone is coming, and thanks to the team at OnLeaks we have an idea of what the phone might end up looking like. This team is rather reliable, having leaked the HTC M9 and the Galaxy S6 before anyone, and now they’ve impressed the world with a picture of a curved smartphone which they claim is the LG G4.

According to the OnLeaks team, the new smartphone will become curved in the same fashion the LG Flex 2 was, and will be bigger than the LG G3, although slightly thicker too.

This might sound like an alarm bell to some: the tendency is to create slimmer, smaller phones, at least when it comes to flagships, but if LG is willing to let go of that in order to give this phone a particular characteristic, we’ll just have to wait and see. These guys know what they’re doing, they created the Nexus 5 after all.

LG G Flex Frame: bent phones are not an accident this time

lg-g-flex

Where the iPhone 6 had issues with getting bent and cracked. the LG G Flex Frame might actually turn that into its strength. This time, the phones are supposed to be curved.

Whether or not a product will come out of this remains to be seen, but the fact is that LG has filed patents for three new model names: LG G Flex Frame, the G Frame, and F Frame. Considering LG already has a curved display smartphone on the market, the LG G Flex, media is buzzing, calling this a successor or a product in the same vein. Maybe a new family of smartphones will come out of this? They already seem to be sharing the “frame” denomination.

We had heard before that we would see an LG G Flex 2, a phone with a smaller screen which could actually be one of these, likely the G Flex Frame. The other two, though, the G Frame and F Frame have us asking questions without any certainties.
