Grovemade’s Hardwood Cups & Planters Are An Affordable & Eco-Friendly Way To Organize Your Desk

Whether you’re working from home, or in a corporate office, you still need an ergonomic and well-designed desk. A desk is probably one of the most important pieces of furniture in our modern lives, only because we spend the majority of our day on it. You may be typing away to glory, munching away on a snack, or simply fidgeting with a random object – you do end up spending hours on your desk. And hence, it’s really important that your desk be neat, tidy, and uncluttered. Not only will this improve your work routine and productivity, but it will also help you maintain a clearer and more streamlined mindset. And, I’ve discovered that adding limited, quality, and innovative products to my desk setup can help me in achieving these goals! And an excellent addition to your workdesk would be Grovemade’s planters and pen cups.

Designer: Grovemade

Grovemade’s desk accessories and office gear always tend to be pretty immaculate. They’re simple, well-designed, minimalist, and highly functional. They are utilitarian yet good-looking pieces that are an added bonus to your workdesk. And Grovemade’s newly expanded collection of planters and pen cups fit the bill perfectly! Made the hard old school way in Grovemade’s Portland OR factory, the cups, planters, and dishes are carved from solid maple or walnut. The detailed pieces are then hand-sanded and finished with a clear vegetable-based oil which highlights the natural warmth, elegance, and sheer beauty of the wood.

The collection basically consists of cups, dishes, and planters in a variety of different woods. The cups are tall containers that are ideal for holding your pens, pencils, scissors, markers, etc. The dishes are wider and can be used to store your paper clips, push pins, loose change, and other tiny workplace items. The planters feature a custom metallic liner cup to hold your favorite miniature flora! The cup comes in two metal options – brass and stainless steel. They’re an excellent means to add a touch of green and nature to your otherwise chaotic workdesk.

The entire range of hardwood containers is clean, thoughtfully designed and not to mentioned well-priced. The prices start at $50! You can deck up your desk with some new additions without burning a major hole in your pocket.

Robotic dishwasher saves restaurants from drudgery

Restaurants and other eateries are facing a shortage of dishwashers, and for understandable reasons -- it's inglamorous work with low pay. Dishcraft, at least, thinks robots can fill that gap. It just revealed a robotic dishwasher intended to clean...

This Motorized Handheld Dish Scrubber Makes Doing Dishes Easy

Maybe you live in a small apartment without a dishwasher, live alone, or have a roommate and you are both lazy. Doing the dishes is not a fun chore. Well, check this out. This handheld motorized scrubbing brush does all work for you, keeping your hands away from that nasty sink water. This gadget will be your new hero.

It kind of looks like an alligator with two long front arms. Those arms are retractable and articulated so they can securely hold onto your plates, bowls, and cups, while a motor drive rotates your dishes through the bristles, scraping off food and grime. Since it has brushes on both sides, it cleans the entire dish and there’s an additional pair of rotating brushes for cleaning utensils and cutlery.

The gadget is waterproof and powered by a rechargeable battery that will give you about an hour of runtime, which should be enough to work your way through that huge pile of dishes with the flies circling about. This is great if you hate getting your hands all dirty when doing the dishes. It might make dishwashing super fast for you. Especially if you have a lot of dirty dishes.

It’ll cost you about $80 from Thanko – which isn’t exactly cheap, but it’s way less expensive than a diswasher or a housekeeper.

Cut Your Dish Use in Half!

pothob_layout

After you’ve spent all that time cooking over a hot stove, why should you have to transfer everything from the pot to a better-looking vessel just for the presentation? Why shouldn’t the cooking container be attractive enough to serve from? That’s the question Parisa Katouzian asked when designing the Pot Hob.

The set includes a skillet, kettle, stockpot and saucepan that doubles as elegant serving dishes. While they’re made from a handsome combination of copper and steel that will liven up your kitchen or tabletop, it’s each unit’s legs that set them apart as unique. The rounded legs keep them elevated just enough to make contact with the flame of the stovetop while also keeping that hot surface safely away from your delicate tabletop so as not to burn it. Better yet, because you’ll be using less water to wash, they’re also an eco-friendly alternative!

Some Like it Hot

ddb_01

The right temperature can make a break the taste of certain foods, and some are best served piping hot! For these and other warm dishes, Warm Double-Deck Bowls are made with porcelain and designed to keep food warm. The idea is simple – by using the internal space of the bowl to store hot water, the food is kept warm. Instead of reheating with appliances, the design eliminates using unnecessary energy to rewarm food. They’re also easy to use: simply pour hot water from the base of the opening and then tighten the lid. Not only an extra convenience, this feature is also a security enhancement. The design has the exact same shape as ordinary bowls when viewed from the front so they’re familiar to handle and aesthetically!

Zombie Head Cereal Bowl Makes Breakfast Apocalyptically Delicious!

I’m a big fan of The Walking Dead, I am also a big fan of Lucky Charms. Combine the two and you can now eat your favorite cereal out of a zombie head. The bowl looks like someone chopped the top off a zombie’s skull and then cut it off at the jaw.

That makes sense; everyone knows that you can’t be around zombies if they still have a lower jaw to bite. I think these bowls would be perfect for a Halloween Jell-O mold. They’re made from ceramic and safe for dishwasher and microwave – a combination that would destroy most zombies. However, that also means should you drop the bowl, it will shatter into a zillion pieces.

Each zombie head bowl will set you back $12.99(USD) at ThinkGeek. I need a full set of these for spaghetti night.

No strainer, no problem.

The OneBowl is a hybrid design that allows you to cook, strain, eat and store all in one bowl! Let’s say you’re cooking pasta- rather than transfer to a strainer from the pan, put it directly in the OneBowl, twist the handle and voila! The water is release through the bottom while keeping your hands out of harms way. Then just cover and store!
