Jerry Seinfeld’s Apartment Recreated in Doom 2

Seinfeld was a classic sitcom that endures to this day, largely because the humor was so different. Everyone knows this show. I would say that almost everyone knows what Jerry’s apartment looked like too. Well, someone recreated that apartment in Doom 2 and it is glorious.

If you have ever wanted to walk around Jerry’s apartment, killing all of your favorite characters, Doug Keener has done just that. It is pretty awesome and the little sound clips make it perfect. You might say that it is even sponge worthy. You can get in on the action yourself too.

I guarantee that you will get a laugh out of this fun demo mod.

Icons of Doom Assemblage Sculpture: BFS

If you thought the Doom cover art diorama was awesome, check out John Hite’s Icons of Doom. The sculpture, which Doom fans will recognize as the final level in Doom II, is partly made of found objects. But its most eye-catching pieces were custom made by John, including the 22″ wide recreation of the game’s final boss.

Jason didn’t originally set out to make the 25″x 21″x 7″ sculpture. Back in 2004 one of his friends gave him a Cyberdemon figure. After painting the toy, Jason “wanted to build an environment for the little cyborg.” He makes it sound so simple. Or perhaps he means he wanted to have more fun with the theme. Jason used old items like action figures, circuit boards and even dummy ammo, but he also made many of the items from scratch.

He cast the boss out of a silicone mold that he made just for the piece and sculpted the other parts such as the Cacodemons, the hearts and Doom Guy’s head.

John’s promo video gives a better look at just how awesome it all turned out:

The paint job is wicked, such polished gore. Head to John’s website for more on Icons of Doom. You can see it in person and even purchase it for $6,000 (USD) at the Copro Nason Gallery in Santa Monica, CA until 11/8.

Official Cacodemon and Pain Elemental Plushes: Toys from the Doom Old Days

On one hand, many of the fans of the original Doom games are too old to be playing with plushies. On the other hand, some kids might be find these toys too freaky. So really, these are for teenagers who may or may not have played Doom.

Then again, the monsters in Where the Wild Things Are are far scarier than the Cacodemon plush. Heck, Suezo from Monster Rancher is faaaar scarier than these two.

Fight your way to Bethesda’s online store to order the Cacodemon and the Pain Elemental plushies. Each toy costs $15 (USD) and is about 7″ tall. What would really make everyone’s Halloween is if Atlus released plushies of the Shin Megami Tensei demons.
