Firework Powered Model Plane Has Very Short Flight

For the 4th of July, somebody’s uncle had the genius idea to fly a firework powered model plane in the middle of a crowded residential area. As you can imagine, the flight did not last long and ended with a cool explosion.

The plane flies for maybe a second before the guy realizes that this was a very bad idea. Then the plane appears to shoot a missile at that house in front of them, before it dives at the house and explodes awesomely.

Sadly, we don’t have any video of the neighbor running out of his house and beating this guy’s ass, which he deserves for the vertical video alone.

Spectacularly Stupid People Set Wal-Mart Fireworks Display Ablaze

Have you ever seen someone do something and just wondered what in the actual f**k they were thinking? This is certainly one of those cases. A pair of idiots went into Wal-Mart with possible plans to set their Snapchats ablaze with followers and comments by setting fire to a display of fireworks in store in Phoenix, Arizona.

The idiots seem to have be incapable of understanding that Wal-Mart is completely festooned with security cameras and their entire prank was on security video. They set the fireworks on fire, setting off a chain reaction and turning the section into a significant fire.

Thankfully, everyone got out and the fire didn’t spread to the entire store. Once the police catch up with the duo, they face a class 2 felony for setting the blaze, which carries up to 20 years in prison. That is a serious bit of prison time for a stupid prank that could have killed someone. Is that lighter fluid in the bottles near the fireworks as the camera pans?

Colin Furze Builds a Death Star Using 5,000 Fireworks

So how does a crazy YouTuber who likes to blow stuff up celebrate his three-millionth subscriber? YouTuber Colin Furze went all Imperial and created a Death Star filled with 5,000 fireworks. This should be fun.

This tops all of his other inventions as this Death Star explodes, without the help of an X-Wing firing on its exhaust port, in a spectacular 20 seconds. This Death Star is covered in 58 boxes of fireworks all wired together to create a magnificent spectacle.

Forget your fireworks display. Colin has you beat. As fireworks are going every which way, it reminds me of The Last Starfighter’s Death Blossom weapon. It is completely insane!

Man Made Shooting Stars are Like Fireworks from Space

A company called Star-ALE hopes to create the most awesome aerial display ever seen in the skies over Tokyo as part of the opening ceremony of the 2020 Olympic games. Fireworks just won’t do for a celebration of such epic proportions. The company wants to pull off something called Sky Canvas that involves shooting fiery pellets from micro satellites orbiting the Earth into our atmosphere.

Yeah, instead of shooting fireworks into the air to explode, these will rain down from space. Each of the satellites would hold 500 to 1000 pellets, and each pellet costs over $8000 to make. If the cost of the pellets alone doesn’t make your sphincter pucker, don’t forget about the cost of building the satellites and getting them into orbit.

The pellets would be made from a variety of elements and metals that glow in a rainbow of colors as they ignite and burn about 50 miles over the surface of Earth. Their inventors say they’ll also burn longer than a real shooting star so they’ll be visible to more people.

The company is also working on technology to track the the probabilities of particles colliding with other objects to help ensure safety of the deployment.

I hope they pull this off, the company says that about 30 million people in an area 120 miles around Tokyo would be able to see the display.

Mario Kart IRL with Roman Candles

Mario Kart is a classic game, but it doesn’t have to be confined to your console. You can play it in real life like this group of friends. Watch them play battle mode in real life as they run around shooting Roman candles and trying to pop each other’s balloons. It looks like fun. Dangerous, but fun.

I mean what could possibly go wrong when you are shooting fireworks at friends? This is actually a pretty fun idea as long as someone doesn’t lose an eye. But you have to have danger if you’re going to play Mario Kart. That’s just the way it is.

Check out the video and then try this with your own friends. Who am I kidding? You’re just gonna go fire up the game on your Nintendo system of choice.

The Government’s Fireworks Safety Demonstration Is Horrifying

It’s July 4th weekend – a time for cookouts and fireworks all across the country. And where there are fireworks, there’s danger. So the government has taken it upon themselves to give us a fireworks safety demonstration video.

If you love watching fireworks that blow mannequins up, you are going to love this. Watch as these lifeless human analogs get their hands blown off, get set on fire thanks to a sparkler, get their egg-filled eye blown up with a bottle rocket and much more. It’s sort of fun to see mannequin carnage.

This is all thanks to the Consumer Product Safety Commission who recently conducted their annual fireworks safety demonstration on the National Mall in Washington, D.C. Be safe. Don’t be like these mannequins.

Chinese Street Filled with Firecrackers Lit in Chain Reaction

Fireworks are awesome. I used to blow up anything and everything I could using Black Cats back in the day. Spiders feared me, as did my brother. The greatest fireworks related day of my life came when a firefighter pulled up in front of my house when I was trying to blow up a plastic model car and handed me a handful of confiscated cherry bombs. All he said was “Don’t light these in your hand, and you never met me.”

Turns out they were insanely powerful and loud and absolutely obliterated that car. These Chinese folks are my sort of people, having filled their entire street with firecrackers. All of the fuses were tied together and then they lit them at the same time, resulting in an amazing chain reaction of explosions.

The cloud of smoke and sheer mess left behind are truly impressive.
