Man Builds LEGO Brick Sorting Vacuum Attachment

Because everyone has experienced the pain of stepping on a LEGO brick and cursing life itself, Matty Benedetto of Unnecessary Inventions has created the Suck It, a vacuum attachment that not only vacuums up the little plastic landmines but also sorts them based on size. Smart. Maybe not as smart as making LEGO bricks out of foam instead of plastic, but apparently, LEGO hasn’t been reading my emails.

The Suck It consists of four magnetically connected chambers separated by filters with increasingly smaller holes, so the largest pieces are caught at the top, the smallest at the bottom, and, God willing, pet hair gets sucked all the way into the vacuum.

The device actually works better than Matty anticipated, making it not such an Unnecessary Invention after all. As a matter of fact, I’d argue this is actually a Necessary Invention. Of course, the devil is probably going to buy up the patent rights and never release the Suck It to the public because he wants us all to continue to suffer.

BAGO Glovebox Clip Keeps Bags Standing Upright While Driving

Filed under products I didn’t know I needed but am now questioning how I ever lived without, the BAGO keeps bags standing upright in your car while driving to help prevent spills or damage to their contents. The product consists of a plastic anchor that can be closed in your car’s glovebox and a seatbelt-like strap with a metal spring clamp at the end that can be attached to bags sitting in the passenger side footwell to keep them standing upright. What a time to be alive!

Currently an already-funded Kickstarter project and now on Indiegogo, $22 will get you a BAGO when they’re shipped around May. Will you be purchasing one? Or will you continue to put your groceries in the trunk like a caveperson? Get with the times! Alternatively, you can accidentally leave a grocery bag on the roof of your car, as I did a few weeks ago, and spill everything as you’re backing out of the parking spot. I’ve never seen bananas so bruised before.

And to think, just 30 years ago, human passengers didn’t even have to wear seatbelts. Now even our shopping bags are wearing them! And while this certainly is a problem solver if you’re traveling with an open can of paint or nuclear material, what I really need is something that prevents me from locking my keys in the car because I’m really not sure how I’m getting home from work today.

Philips hue: the ‘world’s smartest’ LED lightbulb that saves you time during Red Alerts

Philips hue the worlds smartest LED lightbulb that saves you time during Red Alerts video

Historically, altering the lighting color of a room required draping a gossamer-thin cloth over a lamp or buying a new bulb from the store. Philips has sought to solve that most taxing of first-world problems with the hue, a smartphone-controlled LED bulb that can cycle through shades at your whim. As well as block colors, you can use photos to create palette and can control the units even when away from home. It'll be an Apple Store exclusive from October 30th, with individual units setting you back $59 (£49, €59) and three-bulb introduction pack with a wireless bridge for $199 (£179, €199). If that seems a little steep, just console yourself in the knowledge that it's a thousand times more useful than other lighting devices we've seen this year.
