These crinkle-cut fry-shaped bag clips add an adorable sense of whimsy to your kitchen

You wouldn’t be the first to think those are edible.

It may seem like chips, but you’ll be surprised to know that they’re actually clips! Meet Peleg’s Fries Clips, a set of adorable bag clips designed in the shape of crinkle-cut fries, the kind made popular by Shake Shack. While the clips look pretty delightful (and delicious) on their own, they look absolutely perfect when paired together in Peleg’s fries box, which models itself on the kind popularized by a certain fast food chain. The box acts as a perfect ‘stand’ for the clips and can be placed upright on a kitchen countertop. Armed with a magnet on the back, it can be easily affixed onto a refrigerator too, making the bag clips handy when you’re snacking in the kitchen.

The clips are designed to be used like every standard pair of clips. Secure them around open bags of chips and other snacks, or a packet of bread. The clips seal the bag again, keeping the items inside fresher for longer.

Each set comes with 12 fry-shaped clips and a laminated paper box with a magnet attached to the back. The clips can be reused multiple times… just don’t accidentally try to chomp down on them!

Heinz Fry Spoonz: For Maximum Ketchup Load

Some people believe french fries are just a vehicle to get ketchup to your mouth. My dad is one of those people. And in news that’s sure to make his day – then ruin it when he realizes you have to be a UK resident to enter – Heinz is giving away free Fry Spoonz to lucky participants in its National Fry Day contest (available to enter HERE). Well, it looks like we’ll just have to make our own, dad.

Fry Spoonz are made entirely out of potatoes and resemble the shape of a traditional spoon, allowing you to deposit insane amounts of ketchup into your mouth in a single scoop. My dad also puts ketchup on his potato chips and doesn’t actually eat the chips; he only sucks the ketchup off until the chips are soggy, so I can only imagine how wild he would go with these things. Definitely wild enough to not want to watch, that’s for sure.

Insert Turns Car Cupholder Into Fry Holder

Eating fries in the car: it’s a daily occurrence for some of us. And, if I’m being completely honest, a bi- or even tri-daily occurrence for me. But enough about my doctor always frowning when he looks at my lab results, the Car French Fry Holder (affiliate link) solves a longtime problem: where to rest your fries while trying to eat them and drive.

The Amazon product title calls the fry holder a “funny novelty white elephant gift,” but this is far from funny or a novelty to me – this is exactly what I’ve been waiting for. Gone are the days of dropping precious fries on the floor, trying to fish them out of the bag in the passenger side footwell, or risking grease on my pants, holding them between my legs. This truly is the golden age of mobile fry consumption.

Now they just need to add a ketchup bowl clip-on accessory, and you’ve got the total package. I mean, provided the total package is an embarrassing sight for a first date when you pick them up, especially if you have the fry holder in active use with a carton of days-old fries. Just please, whatever you do, don’t point at it and ask if you can interest them in an appetizer.

French Fry Guitar: Would You Like Strings with That?

Out of all of the fast food french fries out there, McDonald’s still makes some of the best. They’re skinny, crispy, salty, and delicious. If you like Mickey D’s fries and know how to play guitar, you might want to pick up this rare instrument that looks just like a box of yummy french fries.

Built by master luthier (and expert fry guy) John Bolin, this rare electric guitar recently turned up for sale from the band Doublewide Kings over on Reverb. The french fry guitar is just one of three artist’s proofs ever made, and although it’s already been used, it looks like the fries are still golden brown and crispy, and I don’t see any ketchup on the strings.

One of my favorite details is the tiny McDonald’s arches that are inlaid along the fretboard. Nice touch. It also says “I’m lovin’ it” on the backside.

If you’ve got $6500 to kicking around, you can grab these truly supersize fries for your guitar collection. Just be sure to see if they’ll toss in a Big Mac or two for that price.

LEGO Food Stands Look Good Enough to Eat

For every awesome LEGO kit you can buy, there are dozens more that creative LEGO builders come up with that you can’t. At least not yet. Here’s one such set that’s currently seeking support over on the LEGO Ideas website.

Clearly inspired by buildings like LA’s iconic Tail of the Pup and the Bluth’s Banana stand from Arrested Development, LEGO builder FrostBricks came up with this awesome set of food shacks that look like giant-size fast food. The set envisions a chain of restaurants from the “Fabulous Fernando Brothers,” who serve up tasty treats to LEGO minifigs.

There’s a cheeseburger joint, a milkshake stand, and a french fry restaurant which is making me crave some Mickey D’s fries right now. The kit would include tiny food accessories for minifigs to feast on, and each stand would have fully detailed interiors.

If you like these as much as I do, show your support with a vote over on the LEGO Ideas website, and hopefully we’ll be enjoying them as official LEGO kits sometime in the future. In the meantime, I’m heading out to get a burger and fries for lunch now.

Yummy World Frankie Fries Jumbo Plush Toy: French Fry Fun!

Would you like fries with that? Well, then, okay. Here you go. These jumbo plush french fries from Kidrobot are simply adorable, and will look great hanging out in your living room, alongside your giant plush hamburger.

The Yummy Frankie Fries measure about 16″ tall, so you can definitely call them super-sized. Each removable fry has a googly-eyed, upbeat expression that’s clearly oblivious to their ultimate fate of being smothered in ketchup, then chewed up and digested. But until then, they’re happy to lounge on your couch.

Best of all, you can skip the drive thru, and just click the “Add to Cart” button for these fries to be delivered straight to your house. They’re about $33(USD) for the set.

McDonald’s Japan Getting Candied Sweet Potato Fries (That Aren’t Sweet Potatoes)

So you might think if McDonald’s in Japan was gearing up to offer new candied sweet potato fries they might, I don’t know, use sweet potatoes. That’s not how they roll at the Japanese Golden Arches though. No, they are using their normal potato fries, and then selling them with some sort of weird looking sweet sauce that has black sesame seeds in it.

These are even stranger than those chocolate fries we saw back around Halloween. The name of the dish translates roughly to “Japanese Style French Fries Candied Sweet Potato Flavor.” Apparently, these things are called “University Fries” in Japan because they were popular with college students in the 1900’s.

I love me some McDonald’s fries, but making normal potato fries taste like sweet potato fries seems like an excellent chance to use actual sweet potatoes.

McDonalds Japan Rolls out Pumpkin Chocolate Fries

Literally, the day September rolled around, I started to hear advertisements for pumpkin spice this and pumpkin spice that on the radio. I can only assume this means that on college campuses everywhere girls are now wearing vests, tights, and Ugg boots while they sip their mocha crappuccino pumpkin spice lattes. Apparently, Japan has a pumpkin spice all the things problem too.

McDonalds Japan will be slathering their perfect French fries with unnecessary chocolate and pumpkin flavored goo for Halloween. It has the requisite orange and black color needed for anything fall themed.

These not all that great sounding fries will be available in Japan starting on September 28. All I want in my McDonalds fries is for the fry chef to add the right amount of salt. Low sodium fries suck.

LEGO McDonald’s French Fry Vending Machine: I’m Lovin’ It!

There are desk toys and then there are desk toys. Put this McDonald’s French Fry vending machine on your desk and you will always have fries. This awesome LEGO machine dispenses fries along with a packet of ketchup.

lego_french_fry_machine_1zoom in

This fun vending machine is yet another awesome Mindstorms-powered creation from Astonishing Studios. Just put in a dollar in quarters for each serving. It would be awesome to have this in the office with you so you can charge your coworkers for their snacks.

I’m kind of surprised that McDonald’s hasn’t figured out a way to create their own fry vending machines that serves fresh hot fries and puts them everywhere. Get on that McDonald’s, unless you want us all to build our own. Of course these are cold and probably not very fresh.

McDonald Selling Honey Butter French Fries in South Korea

I think most of us will agree that one of the best foods in the world is a big, hot, salty order of McDonald’s french fries. Those fries are about the only thing that McDonald’s serves that taste good. I am a fry purist. No ketchup for me, only salt and crispy, artery clogging, fried potato goodness.

honey-frieszoom in

Occasionally I will dip them in some bar-b-q sauce, but that’s as jiggy as I get with my fries. In South Korea, McDonald’s is doing something really weird. They are offering honey butter french fries. Apparently, South Koreans are insane for honey butter. In fact, some sort of honey butter potat chip was introduced last year with that flavor and people actually stood in long lines to buy them.

Mickey D’s will serve the honey butter fries from February 27 to March 8, 2015, and you’ll have to travel to South Korea if you want to taste them.
